The present study investigates the convective heat/mass transfer inside a cooling passage of rotating gas-turbine blades. The rotating duct has various configurations made of ribs with 70。 attack angle, which are attached on leading and trailing surfaces. A naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to determine detailed local heat transfer coefficients using the heat and mass transfer analogy. The present experiments employ two-surface heating conditions in the rotating duct because the surfaces, exposed to hot gas stream, are pressure and suction side surfaces in the middle passages of an actual gas-turbine blade. In the stationary conditions, the parallel rib arrangement presents higher heat/mass transfer characteristics in the first pass, however, these characteristics disappear in the second pass due to the turning effects. In the rotating conditions, the cross rib present less heat/mass transfer discrepancy between the leading and the trailing surfaces in the first pass. In the second pass, the heat/mass transfer characteristics are much more complex due to the combined effects of the angled ribs, the sharp fuming and the rotation.
동물암 세포에 있어서의 Adriamycin이 핵산대사에 미치는 영향

Adriamycin is an antibiotics of the anthracycline group which strongly inhibits a variety of transplantable tumors. It is currently being used for the treatment of human cancer. Treatment of the cultured L5178Y cells with $0.1{\mu}g/ml$ adriamycin for 4hrs, which led to 80~85% cell kill, inhibited only slightly and to the same extent (10~20%) the synthesis of DNA, RNA and protein. The results suggested that cell death was not caused primarily by the inhibition of DNA synthesis in L5178Y cells. Studies of the effect of adriamycin on various RNA species showed that the synthesis of ribosomal RNA was more susceptible to inhibition by the drug than messenger RNA or heterogeneous nuclear RNA. The synthesis of small cytoplasmic RNA species, including transfer RNA, was not significantly inhibited under the condition which resulted in almost complete inhibition of ribosomal RNA synthesis. Adriamycin 을 배양중에 있는 생쥐의 임파종양 L5178Y 세포에 처리하여 다음과 같은 세포독성 및 핵산 대사에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 1) DNA 합성, RNA 합성 및 단백질 합성에 미치는 영향은 거의 비슷하였다. 즉 $0.1{\mu}g/ml$에서 4시간 처리했을때 80~85%의 세포치사를 일으키는데 이때 DNA 합성, RNA 합성 및 단백질 합성을 약 10~20% 정도로 거의 비슷하게 저해하였다. 그러므로 Adriamycin에 의한 세포치사의 주원인은 직접적인 DNA 합성 저해가 아니라 DNA 기능 즉 생존에 필수적인 RNA 합성이거나 단백질 합성 저해인 듯하다. 2) 여러 가지 종의 RNA 에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 핵 RNA 합성 보다는 세포질 RNA 합성을 보다 예민하게 저해하였으며 메센져 RNA 보다는 리보좀 RNA 합성을 보다 예민하게 저해하였다. 이때 transfer RNA 를 포함한 분자량이 작은 RNA 합성에는 별로 영향을 미치지 않았다.
