잉여연산을 이용한 Multiple-Precision 제곱근계산

RNS(Residue Number System)부동소수점표시에서 제곱근계산을 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. RNS부동소수점수는 정수와 moduli의 적(product)의 곱에 의해 나타낸다. 제곱근계산에 있어서 Newton-Raphson법을 이용하고 있으며, 이때 제곱근에 가까운 근사치를 초기치로 이용함으로서 빠르게 제곱근에 수렴한다. 본 제안은 기존의 계산기상에서 소프트웨어에 의해 multiple-precision계산을 구현하는데 있다. 계산알고리즘을 수정하지 않고 moduli의 갯수를 증가시키는 방법만으로 참값에 더욱 가까운 근사치를 구할수 있다. 특히, 기존의 계산기에서는 계산이 어려운 수치문제을 토대로 하여 얻어진 수치실험결과가 본 제안의 유효성을 잘 설명하고 있다고 하겠다. In this paper, algorithm for square-root computation in RNS(Residue Number System) floating-point representation is given. RNS floating-point number is expressed as an integer multiplied by a product of the moduli As to the computation of square-root, Newton- Raphson reciprocal approximation is used. With a sufficiently accurate starting approximation, the proposed algorithm quickly converges to the square-root. This proposal is intended to perform the multiple-precision computation on the existing architectures by software approach. Only by means of increasing the number of moduli, the presented algorithm allows us to realize the better precision result with no changes in computational algorithms. For the illustration of the proposed method, several numerical examples are also given, which are said to be difficult to find the better precision result in the usual calculation.

원자현미경을 이용한 세라믹 브라켓 슬롯의 표면조도에 대한 연구

교정용 브라켓과 강선 사이의 마찰저항력에 영향을 미치는 요소들 중 브라켓 슬롯의 표면조도에 대한 연구가 그동안 많이 시행되어 왔는데 기존 연구는 주로 주사전자현미경(SEM)이나 Prophylometer를 사용하여 이루어졌다. 이 연구는 원자현미경(AFM)을 사용하여 다섯 종류의 브라켓 슬롯의 표면조도를 정량적으로 측정하여 세라믹 브라켓이 스테인리스 스틸 브라켓보다 더 거칠고 다결정 알루미나 브라켓이 단결정 알루미나 브라켓보다 더 거친지 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 대조군인 스테인리스 스틸 브라켓(Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>)과 두 종류의 단결정 알루미나(Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup>, Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>)와 두 종류의 다결정 알루미나(Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup>, Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup>)를 슬라이드 글라스에 접착하고 슬롯을 노출시키기 위해 치과용 하이스피드 핸드피스와 샴퍼버를 이용해 윙을 연마하였다. 원자현미경 이미지는 Nanostation II<sup>TM</sup>를 사용하여 관찰하였다. Sa, Sq, Sz 모두 Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup>는 대조군인 Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 유의미한 차이가 없었으며 Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup>는 Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>보다 컸다. Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup> 사이에서는 Sa, Sq, Sz 모두 유의미한 차이가 없었으며 Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup> 사이에서도 Sa, Sq, Sz 모두 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 따라서, 대조군인 Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 단결정 브라켓인 Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup>, 다결정 브라켓인 Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup>가 낮은 조도의 슬롯 표면을 가지고 다결정 브라켓인 Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup>와 단결정 브라켓인 Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>가 거친 슬롯 표면을 가진 것으로 판단된다. 따라서, 유사한 재질의 브라켓이라도 제조사에 따라 다양한 슬롯 표면조도를 나타낸다고 할 수 있다. (대치교정지 2010;40(5):294-303) Objective: This study was designed to measure the surface roughness at the slot floor of various ceramic brackets. Methods: One kind of stainless steel bracket (Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>), two kinds of monocrystalline brackets (Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup>, Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>) and two kinds of polycrystalline brackets (Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup>, Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup>) were examined. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to measure the surface roughness of each bracket. Data acquisition and processing were performed using SPIP<sup>TM</sup>. Results: The differences in values of Sa, Sq, and Sz in Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup> and Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup> were not statistically different from the control group Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>. The values of Sa, Sq, and Sz of Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup> and Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup> were greater than those of Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>. Differences of all the Sa, Sq, and Sz values between Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup> and Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup> were not statistically significant. Conclusions: It is concluded that the slot surfaces of Succes<sup>ⓡ</sup>, Inspire Ice<sup>ⓡ</sup>, and Invu<sup>ⓡ</sup> were smooth compared to those of Crystalline V<sup>ⓡ</sup> and Perfect<sup>ⓡ</sup>. A 10-year-old spayed female dog with history of persistent nasal discharge and halitosis was presented. In oral examination, there were severe dental calculi and gingivitis. The radiographic imaging showed lesions of left nasal cavity and periodontal membrane. In computed tomographic imaging, there are increased density of left nasal cavity, loss of nasal concha and partial defect of nasal septum. Many inflammatory cells were observed in nasal cytology. The result of culture from nasal smear was negative. All these findings result in rhinitis by dental calculi and gingivitis. The dog got improved after scaling, tooth extraction, and medical treatment.

Excretory urography is a type of contrast study used to verify and localize upper urinary tract disease. It is an inexpensive and easy way to visualize of anatomic and functional status of the kidney and has been used as a primary imaging modality for the evaluation of urinary tract abnormalities. We describe urological signs of 7 dogs who examined with excretory urography and ultrasonography. Six cases were referred to veterinary medical teaching hospital. Chungnam national university (VMTH, CNU) to evaluate renal function after the treatment for renal failure and one case was referred showing hematuria. In case 1, 2 and 4, blood test and urinalysis was normal and the results of excretory urography presented that renal function were normal range. In case 3, the results of urinalysis, ultrasonography, and excretory urography except blood test presented abnormal kidney and hydronephrosis was diagnosed. In case 5 and 6, blood test, urinalysis, ultrasonography and excretory urography indicated renal failure. In case 7, blood test, urinalysis and ultrasonography presented partially abnormal signs, however, the results of excretory urography was normal range.
