The purpose of this study is to examine the elemental compositions, antioxidant and antitumor activity of water, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% ethanol extracts obtained from the fruiting body of Phellinus gilvus. In electron donating ability test, the strong activities more than 70% were observed in $80{\mu}g/ml$ of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% ethanol extracts from the fruiting body of P. gilvus grown in oak and sawdust. The antitumor activity was evaluated by sulforhodamine B (SRB) in terms of cell survival level. The tumor cells (sarcoma 180) were treated with various ethanol extracts (water, 20, 40, 60 and 80%). The results showed that all extracts inhibited proliferation showing a dose-dependent manner against tumor cells.

The present study was carried out to investigate the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus with antibiotic-resistance in vitro and the skin irritation in rabbits with surfactin produced by Bacillus subtilus Complex BC1212. The antibacterial activities of selected antimicrobial agents (surfactin, amoxacillin, colistin, norfloxacin and streptomycin) were evaluated by using the broth microdilution method. As the results, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the surfactin was less than 15.6 μg/ml. In the skin irritation test, two out of 4 rabbits showed very slight edema at 24 h after the administration of surfactin, and then recovered at 72 h. The change of body weight was normal during the skin irritation test. The primary irritation index in accordance with the Draize evaluation of topical reaction was calculated to be "0.125", which meant not irritating. Based on these results, it could be concluded that the test agent, surfactin, was a non-irritant. We could also think that the surfactin may be useful for the treatment of S. aureus infections such as bovine mastitis.
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae에 대한 Origanum vulgare 추출물의 항마이코플라즈마 및 항염증 효과

In the present study, ten herbal extracts, Citrus unshiu Markovich, root and stem of Berberis koreana, Morus alba, Dendrobium moniliforme, Aster gramineus, A. scabar, Alisma canaliculatum, Fallopia japonica and Origanum (O.) vulgare were determined to examine anti-mycoplasmal activity. Among them, O. vulgare extract (OVE) showed strong anti-mycoplasmal activity and was analyzed by gaschromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS). As the results, OVE was consisted of carvacrol (68.78%), o-cymene (9.80%), terpinene (7.61%) and thymol (4.03%) as main ingredients. To investigate inflammatory activity by intact pathogenic Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M. hyo) at 30 $\mu$g/ml, we examined induced transcription of proinflammatory cytokines such as cyclooxygenase-2, tumor necrosis factor-a, interleukin (IL)-1, IL-6 and inducible nitric oxide synthase in RAW 264.7 cells. With the above results, we further investigated whether OVE could reduce inflammation induced by M. hyo at minimal inhibitory concentration. The result showed that 32 $\mu$g/ml of OVE inhibited nitric oxide production by 60%. This study also evaluated the combination of OVE with antibacterials against M. hyo for application. Based on these results, it could be concluded that M. hyo induces inflammation in RAW 264.7 cells and OVE protects this inflammation, indicating that OVE may be useful for industrial animals.

본 연구에서는 충격파 및 유동박리효과를 고려하여 항공기 동체-날개 형상(DLR-F4)에 대한 천음속 공탄성 응답해석을 수행하였다. 시간 영역에서 전산유체역학, 유한요소모델 및 전산구조동역학 기법을 활용한 유체-구조 연계시스템을 적용하여 공탄성 해석을 수행하였으며, 이를 이용하여 비행체의 설계에 정확하고 유용한 결과를 제시할 수 있다. 천음속 영역에서 항공기 동체-날개 형상에 대해 비선형 비정상 공력해석을 수행하기 위하여 6면체 구조 격자를 생성하였고, Navier-Stokes 방정식을 적용하였다. 항공기 동체-날개 형상의 정적 및 동적 공탄성 응답 특성을 파악하였고, 항공기 설계 및 시험 연구자에게 실제적이고 유용한 결과를 제시할 수 있다. It can give very accurate and useful engineering data on the structural dynamic design of advanced flight vehicles. For the nonlinear unsteady aerodynamics in high transonic flow region, Navier-Stokes equations using the structured grid system have been applied to wing-body configurations. In transonic flight region, the characteristics of static and dynamic aeroelastic responses have been investigated for a typical wing-body configuration model. Also, it is typically shown that the current computation approach can yield realistic and practical results for aircraft design and test engineers.

In the past much effort has been made to utilize advanced computational fluid dynamic (CFD) programs for aeroelastic simulations and analysis. However, it is limited in the field of unsteady aeroelasticity due to enormous size of computer memory and unreasonably long CPU time. Recently, AAEMS(Aerodynamics is Aeroelasticity minus Structure) was developed for linear time-invariant, coupled fluid-structure systems. In this paper, to demonstrate further the efficiency and accuracy of the new model reduction method, we successfully examine AGARD 445.6 wing modeled by FLUENT CFD, FSIPRO3D and NASTRAN FEM(Finite Element Method) programs. Using the ROM(Reduced Order Modeling) one can predict flutter boundary as a function of the dynamic pressure.
Phellinus linteus, Phellinus baumii 및 Phellinus gilvus 자실체 추출물의 항암효과 비교

This study was undertaken to investigate comparative anti-tumor activity of water extracts of Phellinus gilvus (PGE), Phellinus linteus (PLE), and Phellinus baumii (PBE) in vitro. The anti-tumor activity in the present study was evaluated by sulforhodamine B (SRB) and microtetrazolium (MTT) assay in terms of cell survival level. The tumor cells (sarcoma 180 and P388) were treated with PGE, PLE, and PBE (7.5, 15, and 30 mg/ml) and Doxorubicin (DOX) (0.001~10 mM). The results showed that DOX, PGE, and PLE inhibited proliferation showing a dose-dependent manner against both tumor cells. However, PBE was inhibited by the only 30 mg/ml in both cells proliferation. In conclusion, all of PGE, PLE, and PBE used in this study have shown anti-tumor activity against both sarcoma 180 and P388. Among them, PLE was the most effective in anti-tumor activity against sarcoma 180 (p<0.05) and PGE was against P388 in SRB assay. PLE, however, was against P388 (p<0.05) in MTT assay.
