Professional Soldiers" wives require abilities in variety of areas where their husbands are not available due to the peculiarities of their job requirements. Living in an isolated environment, worse living conditions, frequent moving, poor housing, lack of support in child education and care, and limited medical service and lack of leisure facilities, with their husbands serving 24 hours as commanders, administrators, and instructors, they have to be experts in maintaining households. The improvement of the Republic of Korea Army today owes much to the military families. Few people seem to recognize the sacrifices and sufferings of the military families, who contributed greatly to intangible combat power and to Republic of Korea Army’s advancement into internationally recognized strong army through six decades. However, it is undeniable truth that while there are researches on the Korean army, there are not much researches on the military families. Just like women’s study, the researches on military families have been neglected. Finding the data and source materials on the Republic of Korea Army’s military families will provide the basis for the future researches help making the political decisions on the litary. Therefore this study on the Republic of Korea Army’s advancement in history will be divided into the followings; establishment of the ROK(1945~1949) and the development of National Defense Position(1991~present). Through these timeline, data and sources on military families will be analyzed to find changes in them. Through this research, hopefully, correct understanding of military families will be possible and this will contribute to the future studies on the military.

The purpose of this study is to identify and understand the nature and meaning of the experience with respect to the lives of military wives who form a military community. Based on Giorgi"s empirical phenomenological research methods, the meaning and structure of the community life of military wives were analyzed by analyzing unstructured interviews and data. Studies have shown that the community life of military wives is assimilated to a character similar to the characteristics of military organization. The structure of life forms a stepping stone for the community by utilizing the search for the identity of a soldier"s wife and the matching medium expressed by authoritarian and compassionate modalities. The essential meaning of a military community life is ‘Live as a half-military as a Significant Other.’ This study has significance for the accumulation of feed on community life of military wives in the military community and its performance as basic data.
육군 협약대학 군사학과 군 관련 전문 교수의 선발 과정과 연구 역량에 대한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the process to select military expert professors of army conventional universities and the issues related to their research capabilities and to suggest alternatives for the institutional development. A comparative analysis targeting 10 military conventional universities with common conditions out of 13 was conducted. Data from the army employment support center, the military departments of the conventional universities, National Research Foundation of Korea, and University Information Disclosure Services were analyse. Military expert professors’ qualifications, selection indicators, screening process and results, and their research capabilities before and after they are appointed were compared and analyzed, and mutual relations, and institutional norms and procedures were considered as well. The results of this study are as follows. First, the current screening process, which is conducted only based on the documents, needs to be subdivided into a two-stage process, and external experts should be included in this screening process, too. Second, screening indicators to raise the importance of professors’ job competency should be organized. Third, alternatives to supplement and improve the reliability and effectiveness of the selection were suggested by applying a fair and transparent selection process.

Herein, the effect of dispersion uniformity of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) on the thermal conductivity of poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) composites was investigated by comparing experimentally obtained and calculated results based on simple models. Two different MWCNTs, i.e., raw and oxidized/masterbatched MWCNTs, were used and compared. For raw MWCNT, the dispersion in PDMS was poor, resulting in the significant reduction in the aspect ratio of MWCNT. However, for composites using masterbatched MWCNT, the thermal conductivity was always about 10% greater than those prepared with raw MWCNT and the aspect ratio calculated by the model equation was also 1.7 times greater. Above 1.5 phr masterbatched MWCNT concentrations, the aspect ratio of 430 was maintained. Finally,the results suggest that the thermal conductivity can be correlated with the degree of dispersion and aspect ratio obtained from the model equation used.
충전제의 입자크기 및 구조에 따른 고무 배합물의 마찰 마모특성

본 연구에서는 카본블랙 충전제의 입자크기 및 구조에 따른 고무 배합물의 마찰 마모 특성을 고찰하였다. 카본블랙의 입자크기와 구조에 따라 마모속도 및 형상이 다르게 되며, 최적 마모성능을 설계하기 위해서는 충전제의 입자크기와 구조의 마모 영향도를 사용조건에 따라 고려하여야 한다. 충전제의 입자크기와 구조에 따른 마모속도(W(R)) 영향도를 수준별로 고찰하기 위해 본 연구에서는 구조와 입자크기가 다른 10가지의 카본블랙을 선택하여 동일한 양을 천연고무와 배합하였다. 자체 제작한 칼날형 마찰 마모 시험기를 이용하여 마찰 마모 특성을 평가하였고, 카본블랙의 입자크기와 구조의 영향을 고려한 특성인자 (Ψ=√N2(2)+DBP(2))와의 관계를 고찰 하였다. 마모속도 (W(R))와 마찰일(W(f))의 간에는 power-law 관계가 있었으며, 마모속도는 카본블랙의 특성인자에 역비례 관계를 보였다. 이는 카본블랙의 입자 크기가 작고 구조가 잘 발달 될수록 마모 저항특성은 향상된다는 것을 나타낸다. The effects of the particle size and the structure of carbon blacks on the friction and the wear behavior of filled natural rubber were investigated in this study. The particle size and the structure of carbon black had a significant effect on the wear rates and the worn surface pattern, and the effect of them on abrasion resistance should be considered for the optimum design of desired wear properties. Ten carbon blacks with various sizes and structures are mixed with natural rubber in order to investigate the effects on the wear rate (W(R)). The friction and the wear behavior were examined by self-made blade type friction-wear abrader, and the relation with characteristic parameter (Ψ=√N2(2)+DBP(2)), obtained from the particle size and the structure, was studied. The wear rate (W(R)) had a Power Law relation with the frictional work (W(f)) and it was inversely proportional to the characteristic parameter of carbon black. It means that smaller particle size and better structure development of carbon black resulted in improved abrasion resistance.
