We have designed and fabricated a low power and high linearity up down convertor for wireless repeaters using 0.35 ㎛ SiGe Bipolar CMOS technology. Repeater is composed of a wideband up/down converting mixer, programmable gain amplifiers (PGA), input buffer, LO buffer, filter driver amplifier and integer-N phase locked loop (PLL). As of the measurement results, OIP3 of the down conversion mixer and up conversion mixer are 32 dBm and 17.8 dBm, respectively. The total dynamic gain range is 31 dB with 1 dB gain step resolution. The adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) is 59.9 dBc. The total power consumption is 240 mA at 3.3 V.

Background and Objectives:Submucosal spread of hypopharyngeal canceris frequently incriminated for the high incidence of local recurrence after resection. Although mucosal spread is better detected by means of direct visualization, submucosal spread is better evaluated by using cross-sectional imaging rather than endoscopy. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of MRI in diagnosing involvement of inferior margin of hypopharyngeal cancer. Materials and Method : Eight patients with hypopharyngeal cancer underwent MRI prior to surgery. And postoperative histopathopogic involvement of tumor was compared with the preoperative MRI axial scan. Results : In preoperative MRI findings, involvement of pyriform sinus apex was 6 cases(definitive 5 cases, probable 1 cases), that of esophageal inlet was 1 case(probable), that of cervical esophagus was 1 case(probable). In postoperative histopathologic findings, the results were same. Conclusion : MRI evaluation for patient with hypopharyngeal cancer ensures accurate staging and provides essential information about the tumor involvement of inferior margin. And there is needed to be thin section thickness in evaluation of inferior margin of hypopharyngeal cancer.

We have designed and fabricated a 220V @ 60Hz AC non contact detection for AC power line detector using 180nm megna BCDMOS technology. AC line detector is composed of a 60Hz band pass filter, fixed gain amplifier, comparator and current generator. The 220V AC power line detector with non-contact is designed and fabricated by BCDMOS process. As of the measurement results, maximum detection range of the AC power line detector and differential gain are 30 cm and 20 dB, respectively. The total power consumption is 3mA at 3.3 V coin battery.
IMD 상쇄기를 적용한 CMOS 구동 증폭기 선형화 방법

We have designed and fabricated a linear drive amplifier with a novel intermodulation distortion (IMD) canceller using 0.18 ㎛ CMOS process. The drive amplifier with IMD canceller is composed of a cascode main amplifier and an additional common-source IMD canceller. Since the IMD canceller generates IM3 (3<SUP>rd</SUP>-order imtermodulation) signal with 180° phase difference against the IM3 of the cascode main amplifier, the IM3 power is drastically eliminated. As of the measurement results, OP1㏈, OIP3, and power-add efficiency are 5.5 ㏈m, 15.5 ㏈m, and 21 %, respectively. Those are 5 ㏈, 6 ㏈, and 13.5 % enhanced values compared to a conventional cascode drive amplifier. The IMD3 of the drive amplifier with IMD canceller is enhanced more than 10 ㏈ compared to that of the conventional cascode drive amplifier for input power ranges from -22 to -14 ㏈m.
