        Effect of Curvature Dependency of Surface Tension on the Result of Pore-Volume Distribution Analysis

        질소의 흡착 등온곡선을 이용하여 흡착체의 동공부피 분포를 계산하는 과정에서 표면장력의 곡률 의존도 고려 효과를 조사하였다. 즉, 장세헌 등에 의한 표면장력의 곡률 의존도식과 캘빈 식으로부터 주어진 압력에서의 캘빈반경을 구하고, 이것으로부터 흡착체의 동공부피 분포를 계산하였다. 이와 같이하여 얻은 계산 결과를 표면장력의 곡률 의존도를 고려하지 아니한 종래방법에 의한 계산 결과와 비교하였다. 일반적으로 곡률 의존도를 고려해주면 동공부피 분포 곡선의 극대부분이 큰 동공 쪽으로 이동한다. 또한 모세관 응축이 일어나는 상대압력이 종래까지 생각했던 것보다 훨씬 낮아지고 있다. 이러한 효과들은 흡착체의 동공들이 미세해 질수록 더욱 현저하게 일어난다. The significance of the curvature dependency correction of surface tension is studied in calculating the pore volume distribution of porous adsorbent from nitrogen adsorption isotherm. That is, Kelvin radii are calculated with curvature dependent surface tension values calculated by Chang et al, and then with these Kelvin radii, pore volume distributions of three porous adsorbents, silica alumina (steam deactivated), silica gel (Davidson 59), and silica gel (Mallinc-krodt Standard Luminescent), are calculated. The results are compared with those obtained by the previous method in which surface tension is taken as constant and also with the others. obtained by the modelless method proposed by Brunauer et al. The maximum point of the distribution curve shift to the larger pore radius, when the curvature dependency is considered. Furthermore, the relative pressure at which capillary condensation commences is by far the lower than that accepted previously. This effect becomes significant as the pore radius approaches to the micropore range.

      • 유리 동맥화 정맥피판술을 이용한 수지 굴곡구축의 치료

        Purpose : The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of arterialized venous flap in finger flexion contracture correction. Materials and methods : From 2002 to 2004, we have performed 10 arteriaized venous flap for treatment of severe flexion contracture in digit. The duration of flexion contracture was from 1 year to 50 years. The cause of contracture were bum scar(7 cases), postoperative contracture(2 cases) and other(l case). We evaluated the survival of flap, flap size, recovery of flexion contracture and subjective satisfaction. Results : All arterialized venous flap survived. The marginal minimal skin necrosis developed in 2 cases. The flap size was average $5.2{\times}3.5cm$. The recovery of flexion contracture was 87% compared with non affected side. 9 patients(90%) satisfied the results of operation. Conclusion : Arterialized venous flap is one of the useful procedure in treatment of finger flexion contracture because it has many advantages such as thin and good quality, variable length of pedicle, preservation of major vascular pedicle, less operation time and in addition possibility of various modifications.

      • 생비골 이식술을 이용한 장골 골결손의 재건

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of limb reconstruction and functional recovery using vascularized fibular graft in the treatment of extensive bone defect of long bone caused by various diseases. Materials and Methods: From september 1995 to March 2005, 21 patients with segmental bone defects were managed with vascularized fibular graft: 13 males and 8 females, aged 39 years on average (range, $8{\sim}65\;years$). The reconstructed site was the humerus in 9 patients, the femur in 5, the tibia in 4 and the forearm bone in 3. The length of bone defect ranged from $8{\sim}17\;cm$. Results: Twenty grafts were successful. The mean period to obtain radiographic bone union was 5.7 months on average. Conclusion: Fibular grafts allow the use of a segment of diaphyseal bone and of sufficient length to reconstruct most skeletal defects of the long bone. The vascularized fibular graft is indicated in patients with intractable nonunions where conventional bone grafting has failed or large bone defects.

        솔-젤법으로 제작한 BFO/PZT 박막의 용매에 따른 구조적, 전기적 특성

        Multiferroic BFO/PZT(5/95) multilayer films were fabricated by spin-coating method on the Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrate alternately using BFO and PZT(9/95) alkoxide solutions. The structural and dielectric properties were investigated with variation of the solvent and the number of coatings. All films showed the typical XRD patterns of the perovskite polycrystalline structure without presence of the second phase such as $Bi_2Fe_4O_3$. BFO/PZT multilayer thin films showed the typical dielectric relaxation properties with increase an applied frequency. The average thickness of 6-coated BFO/PZT multilayer film was about 600 nm. The dielectric properties such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss and remnant polarization were superior to those of single composition BFO film, and those values for BFO/PZT multilayer film were 1199, 0.23% and 12 ${\mu}C/cm^2$.

        고관절의 절제 관절성형술

        Girdlestone operation is a resection arthroplasty, which is composed of resection of head and neck of femur and construction of pseudoarthrosis, which was described by Girdlestone at first in 1928. The purpose of this study was to establish the efficacy of Girdlestone operation. In 4I hips of 40 patients, who had undergone Girdlestone operation and was not converted to total hip replacement from Dec. 1986 to Sep. 1996, were reviewed. Average follow up period was 3 years and 10 months(range from one year to ten years and ten months). Twenty four patients (25cases) were males and sixteen patients were females. The average age was 49 years old(range from 19 to 77 years old). Preoperative diagnoses were infection in 32 cases, posttraumatic osteoarthritis in 3 cases, pelvic bone fracture in 2 cases, ankylosing spondylitis involving hip joint in 2 cases(1 patient), RDC(rapidly destructive coxarthrosis) in one case and femoral neck fracture in one case. Pain was relieved completely or decreased markedly in all cases after Girdlestone operation. Preoperatively, four patient(five cases) had not been able to walk and thirty six patients had showed the moderate or severe limping. After operation, thirty cases showed the moderate 1imping. In the analysis of walking grade, preoperatively, four patients(five cases) had not been able to walk and 36 cases had used cane or crutch, postoperatively, 16 cases walked without any support, 9 cases used one cane, and 16 cases used two crutch. The range of motion of the hip joints was improved postoperatively. Preoperative flexion contracture, average fourteen degrees decreased to average three degrees postoperatively. Preoperative further flexion, average sixty eight degrees, increased to ninety degrees postoperatively. The average shortening of operated limb was 4.5 cm. Average time interval from operation to crutch ambulation was 37 days. In the assessment of patient satisfaction, most patients were satisfied with the improvement of pain, physical activity and psychosocial activity except morphological change. Our opinion is that Girdlestone operation is relatively an effective and safe procedure to treat the infected or dysfunctioned hips.

        How could we get the meaning that could become better than any others, if we would hear of the music? With what motive the musician wrote the music? We can have such questions. However, if we think in another way, that is no more than simple and superficial thoughts. In this movie 'Gloomy Sunday', we know that the music gives the meaning that comes to be better simply by hearing of the music. In fact, the heroes are three men surrounding Ilona. But the more important heroes than these three men is the Gloomy Sunday. This song is famous for calling the death of so many people. The composer of this song composed this song on the sorrow of losing his girl friend and finished his life by killing himself. Following such accidents all the orchestra members who played this music killed themselves. After putting on sale of this disc, within 7 weeks 187 people killed themselves with hearing of Gloomy Sunday in Hungary. Hungary swept through all the shocking those days. What made them die? Is there something behind this song that can`t help killing themselves by the people who heard that song? Is this song really under a curse? In the movie one hero says that this song may have something that stimulates our feelings beyond the common song. By stimulating the substantial feelings of people, it makes us assimilate in that song. In a sense, this song is no more than a common song. However, any other elements in that song would have a great influence on people. Andras selects Killing himself with the comments on his song and with the anger on the people and era in a harsh reality under the control of Nazi. Andras and Laszlo say that they would rather die to keep the self-respect than maintain his life in a sense of contempt.

        카메라 고정장치의 중력보상기 설계

        This paper presents gravity compensators of a camera fixing mechanism. A parallelogram is used to maintain the pose of camera and a constant static torque is generated because of the offset of mass of camera module from a parallelogram. The traditional energy method is proven to be inadequate to the constant torque. Three designs are presented with the torque method (considering static torque balancing). A non-circular pulley design is fabricated among them, in that only one spring is applied. Experiments show that complete gravity compensation is achieved for all poses.
