이 글은 유교경전 교육의 미래전략에 대한 시론적 논고이다. 특히 그 방법론적 문제에 집중하여 주요한 콘텐츠인 경전의 내용을 ‘만화’라고 하는 학습자의 흥미를 높일 수 있는 전달법을 활용해 보고자 하는 것이다. 이를테면 가장 대표적인 유교경전인 『논어』를 만화로 제작하여 전달하면서 그 교육적인 효과를 기대하고자 할 때 우리는 무엇을 고려해야 하는가? 또 그 만화의 표현방식 가운데 어떠한 전달 방식을 선택해야 하는가? 이 글은 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 기존 ‘만화 논어’를 살펴보고, 유교경전 교육의 미래전략으로서 어떠한 ‘만화 『논어』’를 택해야 할 것인지를 고민해 보고자 한다. 그런데 새삼 유교경전 교육의 미래적 전략에 대해 논하기 위해서는 먼저 유교경전의 교육이 과연 미래에도 필요한 것인가에 대해서는 유가교육 자체에 대한 내부적 성찰이 요청된다. 이 점에 대한 논의를 한 번 더 환기하는 것은 경전 교육의 방향성에 대한 각성이 여전히 필요하기 때문이다. 방향성에 대한 설정이 확고하다면 그 방법론의 하나로 콘텐츠의 개발과 활용을 응당 논할 수 있을 것이다. 여기에서는 기본적으로 ‘만화’라는 기법을 통해 『논어』에 담긴 의미를 전달할 수 있으며, ‘만화’가 고전에 입문하고자 하는 학습자들에게 충분히 학습동기를 유발할 수 있는 기제로 활용될 수 있다는 점을 지적하고자 한다. 또한 『논어』라는 고전을 전달함에 있어 그 방법론과 문제의식은 매우 다양하게 접근할 수 있다는 점도 제시하고자 한다. 그러나 고전의 교육적 측면에서 그러한 접근이 온전히 의미있고 유효한 것인지에 대해서는 좀 더 유보적이다. 이 만화 논어는 성균관대학교의 홈페이지를 통해 웹툰형식으로 먼저 개시되고 이를 만화책의 형식으로 보일 예정이다. 그 대상을 대학생으로 둔 것이다. 아직 길은 멀고 할 일은 적지 않다. This article is the overview essay on the futuristic strategy of Confucian scriptures education. In particular, it is intended to facilitate the delivery method to enhance the interests of learners in 'comics' for the important contents of scriptures by focusing on its methodological method. For example, when the most representative Confucian scriptures of 『Analects』 is produced in comics to deliver, what in a way of expecting educational effect, what shall we consider? And, what delivery method shall we select from the expression method of such comics? This article takes a look at the existing ‘Comic Analects’ n the basis of such an issue, and contemplate what kind of ‘Comic 『Analects』’ must be selected as the futuristic strategy of Confucian scriptures education. Nonetheless, In order to discuss the futuristic strategy of Confucian scriptures education, there is a need for internal contemplation on the Confucius education first regarding if the Confucian scriptures education is really needed in the future. Reminding once again for the discussion on this point is that there still is a need for the enlightening on the scheme of the scriptures education. If the establishment of the scheme is solid, development and facilitation of the contents may be discussed as a methodology. In this aspect, through the technique in 'comics' basically, the implication contained in 『Analects』 can be delivered and it is pointed out that the ‘comics’ may be facilitated as the foundation to stimulate the motivation to study the classics for those beginning learners. Furthermore, in delivering a classic in 『Analects』, it points out the point that the methodology and recognition of issues may be approached in extremely diverse ways. However, in the educational aspect of classics, it is still remained to be seen for such an approach to be fully meaningful and effective. This Comic Analects will be commenced in the Web-tune style through the homepage of Sunggyungwan University first and it will be displayed in the comic book style. University students will be the subjects. There is a long way to go and so many things to do.
