본 논문에서는 CPF(Carry-Propagation-Free)의 특성을 갖는 RB(Redundant Binary)연산을 이용한 새로운 구조의 24비트 2의 보수 덧셈기를 설계하였다. TC2RB(Two's Complement to RB SUM converter)의 속도와 트랜지스터 개수를 줄이기 위해 MPPL(Modifed PPL) XOR/XNOR 게이트를 제안하고 고속 RB2TC(RB SUM to Two's Complement converter)를 사용한 두 가지 형태의 덧셈기를 제안하였다. 각 덧셈기의 특징을 살펴보면, TYPE 1 덧셈기는 VGS(Variable Group Select) 방식을 사용하여 덧셈기의 속도를 향상시켰으며 TYPE 2 덧셈기는 64비트 GCG(Group Change bit Generator)회로와 8비트 TYPE 1 덧셈기를 사용하여 속도를 향상시켰다. 64비트 TYPE 1 덧셈기의 경우 CLA와 CSA에 비해 각각 23.5%, 29.7%의 속도 향상을 TYPE 2 덧셈기의 경우 각각 41.2%, 45.9%의 속도 향상을 기대할 수 있다. 레이아웃된 24비트 TYPE 1과 TYPE 2 덧셈기의 전달지연 시간은 각각 1.4ns와 1.2ns로 나왔다. 제안한 덧셈기는 매우 규칙적인 구조를 가지고 있기 때문에 빠른 시간에 회로 설계 및 레이아웃이 가능하며 마이크로프로세서나 DSP 등과 같이 고속연산을 필요로 하는 경우에 적합하다. In this paper a new architecture of 24-bit two's complement adder is designed by using RB(Redundant Binary) arithmetic which has the advantage of CPF(Carry-Propagation-Free). A MPPL(Modified PPL) XOR/XNOR gate is applied to improve a TC2RB(Two's Complement to RB SUM converter) speed and to reduce the number of transistors, and we proposed two types adder which used a fast RB2TC(RB SUM to Two's Complement converter). The property of two types adder is followings. The improvement of TYPE 1 adder speed is archived through the use of VGS(Variable Group Select) method and TYPE 2 adder is through the use of a 64-bit GCG(Group Change bit Generator) circuit and a 8-bit TYPE 1 adder. For 64-bit, TYPE 1 adder can be expected speed improvement of 23.5%, 25.7% comparing with the CLA and CSA, and TYPE 2 adder can be expected 41.2%, 45.9% respectively. The propagation delay of designed 24-bit TYPE 1 adder is 1.4ns and TYPE 2 adder is 1.2ns. The implementation is highly regular with repeated modules and is very well suited for microprocessor systems and fast DSP units.

Observations were made on the infection rate of common internal parasites in Jindo dogs from January to March, 1989. Fecal samples were collected from 115 Jindo dogs in Jindo area. On the basis of egg counting, the following results were obtained; 1. Of 115 fecal samples, 65.2% were appeared as positive. Dogs from intensive dog-rearing places have lower infection rates than others. 2. Of the parasites detected, Toxocara canis was the most commonly encountered(26.1%). 3. Ascarids, flukes and coccidia were more prevalent in pups than in mature dogs, whereas hookworms were detected less often in young dogs than in older ones.

The present study was conducted in order to get the rela: ionship of heartworm, Dirofilaria immitis and eosinophils in blood of Jindo dogs. Blood samples were taken from 141(31, 110) of yellow, 44(17, 27) of white Jindo dogs in undo area. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follcws: 1. There were no significant differences of the hematological values in comparison with others reported values, but the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and the number of eosinophils were high in comparison with other reported values. 2. The mean values of total white blood cell count(P<0.05) , neutrophil(P<0.05) and monocyte(P<0.05) were that the yellow dogs and a tendency toward higher values than the white dogs, but no significant differences were observed. 3. Age-related differences were detected for the total erythrocyte count(P<0.05), hemoglobin content(P<0.001), PCV(P<0.001) and the number of eosinophils(P<0.001). 4. The direct and indirect eosinophil counts were increased with age, there were no significant differences of the values between two groups. 5. Dirofilaria immitis was found in 34(18.4%), increased with age and were relatively significant differences in areas of the 185 Jindo dogs. 6. Survey for hematological values of Dirofilaria immitis infected dogs with direct and indirect method. mean values of eosinophil were 2,788 / ul, 3,021 / ul, respectively. They showed that eosinophil had a tendency toward higher values than others, but others were no significant differences.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) was developed to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTC) and non-tuberculous mycobacterium (NTM) genomic DNA in blood samples of Korea native cattle. A set of four primers, two outer and two inner, were designed from M. bovis and M. avium genomic DNA targeting the IS6110 and 16S rRNA gene, respectively. Based on 85 Intradermal Tuberculin Test (ITT) positive blood sample and using conventional PCR and LAMP, the agreement quotient (kappa), which measures agreement beyond chance were 0.93 (conventional PCR) and 0.97 (LAMP), respectively. The detection limit of the LAMP method was 2.0×102 copy/ml M. bovis and M. avium cells, compared to 2.0×103 copy/ml M. bovis and M. avium cells for conventional PCR. These results suggest that the LAMP is a powerful tool for rapid, sensitive, and practical detection of MTC and NTM in blood samples of Korea native cattle.
Hematologic values of normal Jindo dogs

임상적으로 건강한 진도개 203두의 혈액치(血液値)를 조사(調査)하였다. 203두에는 암수가 다 포함되어 있었으며 개의 연령은 3개월에서 10세까지 이었다. 적혈구수(赤血球數), 혈색소량(血色素量), 적혈구용적(赤血球容積) 그리고 호산구수(好酸球數) 등은 개의 연령과 함께 증가하였다. 진도개에서 나타난 높은 호산구수(好酸球數)는 심장사상충증(心臟絲狀蟲症)과 벼룩의 감염에 의한 피부염(皮膚炎)때문인 것으로 생각된다. Hematologic values were determined in blood samples obtained from 203 normal, healthy Jindo dogs of both sexes that ranged in age from 3 months to 10 years. Age-related differences were detected for the total erythrocyte count, hemoglobin content, PCV and the number of eosinophils. The persistent eosinophilia appears to be due to the dirofilariasis and flea-allergy dermatitis.
광주와 전남지역 사육견의 개심장사상충(Dirofilaria immitis)감염률 조사

We have investigated the prevalence of canine heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) infection among 100 mixed-breed dogs raised in Chonnam Province(Koheung, Posung, Changheung, and Hwasoon) and 100 dogs randomly selected from visiting dogs to the College of Veterinary Medicine, Chonnam National University for routine physical examination. Blood samples taken from dogs were examined for the presence of Dirofilaria immitis microfilaria by the modified Knott`s test, and an antigen test which was based on the sandwich ELISA(DiroCHEK®, Synbiotics, Inc., San Diego, California, USA) was used to detect the adult heartworm-specific antigen from serum samples. The results were then compared with those of the modified Knott`s test. Five(2.5%) of the 200 examined dogs were microfilaria-positive, while 8 dogs(4%) were anti-gen-positive, which suggested that the antigen test was more sensitive than the microfilarial test in detecting heartworm infection. All dogs that were microfilaria-positive were also antigen-positive. The place of origin of the heartworm-positive dogs were of Naju (4/26, 15.4%), Koheung(3/32, 9.4%), and Hwasoon (1/19, 5.3%), while none of dogs raised in Kwangju, Posung, and Changheung areas were infected with the parasite. Although not significant, more infected dogs were observed in older ages, while the difference in infection rate between male (4/98, 4.1%) and female (4/102, 3.9%) was not recognized. Our results indicated that a relatively low infection rate was observed in dogs raised in Kwangju and Chonnam area compared to the infection rate reported previously in other areas of South Korea.
