Generally, a fixed type guide-bush system is installed during machining miniature work-pieces with high precision in the multi-task CNC lathe. But a conventional guide-bush system does not provide a constant clamping force under the condition of varying work-piece diameters. It is important to maintain a constant clamping force for guaranteeing machining precision. This paper proposes a new guide-bush system with a pneumatic clamping device for the CNC Swiss-turn lathe to keep constant clamping force with changes in work-piece diameters. Through performance tests, new clamping system developed in the study showed better machining precision at the cost of a small increase in the temperature of the system than conventional systems due to an increase in the frictional heat and a change in the heat transfer route.

A new oxygenated monoterpene (4) was isolated from the methanol extract of the aerial part of Erechtites hieraceiolia together with six known components, a dimethylheptane (1), three ionone derivatives (2,3 and 7) and two phenylpropanoids (5 and 6). Their structures were identified by means of physico-chemical and spectral data to be (2E, 5E)-6-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylhepta-2,4-dienal (1), 3(R)- hydroxy-5,6- epoxy-β-ionone (2), 3(R)-hydroxy-5,6-epoxy-β-ionol (3), (3E, 6E)-3,7- dimethylocta-3,5-dien-1,2,7-trios (4), 2-hydroxy4- (2-propenyl)phenyl- β-D -glucopvanoside (5), 2-methoxy-7(2-pnpenyl)phenyl -β-D -glucopyra- noside (6) and (6R,9R)-3-oxo-β-ionol-α-D -glucopyranoside (7).

Three alkaloids, (-)-stylopine (I), (+)-chelidonine (II), oxysanguinarine (III) and two triterpenoids, $6{\alpha}-hydroxy-A-neo-germacer-22(29)-en-30-oic\;acid$ (IV) and hop-22(29)-en-30-oic acid (V), were isolated from the methanol extract of of Chelidonium majus var. asiaticum, and their cytotoxicity were tested against five cultured human tumor cell lines.

A new cytotoxic triterpene hydroperoxide (3) was isolated from the methylene chloride extract of the aerial part of Youngia japonica together with four known triterpenes (1, 2, 4 and 5). Their structures were identified by means of physico-chemical and spectral data to be (3-amyrin acetate (1 ),taraxasterol (2),21 a-hydroperoxy-taraxasterol (3),oleanolic acid (4) and ursolic acid (5). Compounds 3 and 5 showed moderate cytotoxicity against five tumor cell lines.
