헬륨을 이용한 극저온 냉동기는 압축기(compressor)을 통하여 압력을 10-20 기압 정도로 높혀준후 여러 단계의 열교환기(heat exchanger)를 통하여 상전위온도(maximum inversion temperature) 이하로 떨어뜨린후 Joule-Thomson 밸브를 통하면 4K까지 온도가 떨어진다. 이때 압력은 1기압 정도이며 헬륨가스는 액체로 변한다. 본 연구의 목적은 Gifford-McMahon 냉동기와 Joule-Thomson 냉동기의 혼합형인 극저온 냉동기를 설계, 제작하여 죠셉슨(Josephson) 소자를 이용한 SQUID(초전도양자 간섭장치), 여러 종류의 탐지기, 컴퓨터 소자 개발 등을 위한 냉동기로 사용하는데 그 목적이 있다. 개발되는 법동기의 용량은 1 W이며, 최저온도는 4K 정도가 된다.

In recent years the importance of the preservation of cultural artefacts like ancient tombs has been widely accepted domestically and internationally as the quality of life improves. However not much technical attention has been paid for the facilities and systems to preserve those artefacts. Even the general understanding of the preservatory environment of the underground space as tombs is poor. As a part of the present study, the temperature and relative humidity inside a selected artefact, Shinkwan-ri tomb, have been monitored for a year round by the present author to improve the understanding of the indoor thermal environment, is pursued to provide a predictive tool of numerical modelling of Shinkwan-ri tomb the opened underground space thermal environment. In this study, predictive numerical modelling of Shinkwan-ri tomb using the Computational Fluid Dynamics, calculate the velocity and temperature distribution and offer basic data which are necessary for the best fitted design of tomb air-conditioning device.

Modern people spend more and more time in an automobile in their daily life. In this life, drivers and passengers should create HVAC environment in the automobile interior which is not only for convenient transportation but also give comfortable feeling with dwelling culture. Also, the latest cars give much importance for the role of HVAC system that controls the environment of the area for passengers more than just basic capability. There are solar radiant heat, surface temperature, refrigeration system(temperature, humidity, air current, velocity), and dust for the factor which have an effect on the HVAC environment in the automobile interior, also these are being carried for the HVAC environment delivered an individual character. In this study, we drew the automobile interior as three dimension and arranged a method of numerical analysis on HVAC environment in the automobile interior displaying air current distribution and temperature distribution through simulation of the automobile interior on the ventilation volume and outlet area. The aim of this study is to develop the estimated method for HVAC environment. in the automobile interior.

A gun-type burne. fur a LPG(Liquified Petroleum Gas) boiler was utilized for hydrogen combustion. The study was performed to obtain fundamental data prior to the design of a very low NO$\_$x/, hydrogen-fueled burner. First, numerical simulations were performed to predict mixing characteristics between air and fuel flows, and temperature distributions, etc. Experimental study was then performed to find out flame lengths, temperature distributions, and NO$\_$x/ concentrations. The results showed that a gun-type burner for a LPG boiler can be successfully used for hydrogen combustion without any major retrofitting. The hydrogen flame was very stable and 75 ppm of NO$\_$x/ in average was observed for the conditions considered in this study. Hydrogen combustion could be therefore a solution to avoid the problem of green-house gas(CO$_2$) if hydrogen becomes cost-effective.
