Objectives : Aims of this study is to investigate the effects of $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ in rat induced by experimental focal ischemia. Materials and methods : The focal ischemia was induced by intraluminal filament insertion into middle cerebral artery. The groups divided into 6groups, control; no therapy group after ischemia-induced, AT1; acupuncture therapy group at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ after ischemia-induced, AT2; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the thumb of the right hand 9times, AT3; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the forefinger of the right hand 9times, AT4; acupuncture therapy at$LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was inserted to the direction following the flowing route of the meridian(digital direction), AT5; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally, the needle was inserted to the direction following the flowing route of the meridian(digital direction) and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the thumb of the right hand 9times. Acupuncture therapy was carried out 7times during 2weeks after focal ischemia-induced. The anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects of acupuncture are observed by Bax, Bcl-2, mGluR5, cytochrome c, Cresyl violet and ChAT-stain. Results : The intensity of Bax was decreased in AC1, AC4, AC5 group, was increased in AC2, AC3 group. The intensity of Bcl-2 was increased in AC2, AC3, AC4, AC5 group. The intensity of mGluR5 was decreased in AC1 group, was increased in AC4, AC5 group. The intensity of Cytochrome c was increased in ACI, AC2 group, was decreased in AC4, AC5 group. The density of neurons stained by Cresyl violet was increased in all group without control group. The density of ChAT was increased in AC2, ACS group. Conclusions : Our study suggests that AC5 group show anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects on cholinergic neuron in focal cerebral ischemia of the stroke in rats.

Objective: The aim of this research was to investigate the effect on five element constitutional acupuncture(Sa-am acupuncture) at 4 acupoints by needle manipulation to sedate Six Fu-Organ on hyperlipidemia induced by high fat diet in rats. Method: We recorded data of weight gain, food intake, food efficiency, weight of Liver, heart, spleen, Lung, kidney, Levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, AST, ALT in serum of rats fed high fat diet for 5 weeks. Spraque Dawley rats were divided into eight groups(normal; normal diet and non-acupuncture group, control; non-acupuncture group, Acu-LI; acupuncture at SI5·LI5·BL66·LI2 group, Acu-ST; acupuncture at GB41·ST43·LI1·ST45, Acu-SI; acupuncture at BL66·SI2·ST36·SI8, Acu-BL; acupuncture therapy at ST36·BL40· GB41·BL65, Acu-TE; acupuncture at BL66·TE2·ST36·TE10, Acu-GB; acupuncture at LI1·GB44·SI5·GB38. After needles inserted, it was rotated clockwise and anticlockwise 12 times on rats fed high fat diet. Results: The body weight was decreased in Acu-SI, Acu-TE, Acu-GB group, /the food intake was decreased in Acu-TE, / the food efficiency was decreased in Acu-SI, /serum triglyceride was decreased in Acu-LI, Acu-ST, Acu-BL, Acu-GB, /serum total cholesterol was decreased in Acu-LI, Acu-BL, serum ALP was decreased in Acu-LI, Acu-ST, Acu-BL, Acu-TE, Acu-GB. While the relative weight of heart was increased in Acu-LI, Acu-SI, the relative weight of kidney was increased in Acu-SI, Acu-GB. Conclusion: These results suggest that five element constitutional acupuncture(Sa-am acupuncture) may be having an therapeutic influence on hyperlipidemia induced by high fat diet. Further researches of acupuncture manipulation are needed in the future based on our study.

Objectives : Acupoints of LR1(Dadun)${\cdot}$HT9(Shaochong), KI10(Yingu)${\cdot}$HT3(Shaohai) are used as controlling the diseases from heart problems. Especially, when they are used, tonification or sedation techniques method is taken as a controlling the medication for an early stroke in the Korean medicine. So the aim of this study is to investigate the anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects of Acupuncture techniques of tonification or sedation at LR1${\cdot}$HT9, KI10${\cdot}$HT3 on the focal ischemia induced by intraluminal filament insertion in rats. Materials and Methods : The focal ischemia was induced by intraluminal filament insertion into middle cerebral artery. The animals were divided into five groups (n=7 in each group) : Control group, no therapy group after ischemia induced; AT-1; acupuncture therapy group at LR1${\cdot}$HT9, KI10${\cdot}$HT3 after ischemia-induced. AT-2; acupuncture therapy at right LR1, HT9(forward direction), KI10${\cdot}$HT3(opposite direction) inserting to the direction of route of the each meridian. AT3; acupuncture therapy at right LR1, HT9(twirling forward with the thumb of right hand 9 times), KI10${\cdot}$HT3(twirling forward with the forefinger of right hand 6 times) AT-4; acupuncture therapy at right LR1, HT9(forward direction, twirling forward with the thumb of right hand 9 times), KI10${\cdot}$HT3(opposite direction, twirling forward with the forefinger of right hand 6 times) inserting to the direction of route of the each meridian. The anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects of Acupuncture techniques of tonification or sedation at LR1, HT9, KI10${\cdot}$HT3 were observed by Bax, Bcl-2, mGluR5, Cytochrome c, Cresyl violet and ChAT-stain. Results : The intensity of Bax and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio were increased in ACU-2 and ACU-4 group but decreased in ACU-3 group. The intensity of mGluR5 was increased in ACU-1, ACU-2, ACU-3 and ACU-4 group. The intensity of cytochrome c was decreased in ACU-3 and ACU-4 group. The density of neurons stained by Cresyl violet and ChAT were increased in ACU-1, ACU-3 and ACU-4 group. Objective : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of Scolopendrid Aqua-acupuncture applied to the L14 on galactosamine-induced liver injury in rats. Methods : In this study, the experimental rats were divided four groups(Control group, SHA-1, SHA-2, SHA-3 group). In the Control group, we first injected galactosamine and then didn`t treated. In the SHA-1, SHA-2, SHA~3 group, we first Injected galactosamine and then injected Scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture applied to L14, each 0.083mg/kg, 0.017 mg/kg, 0.008mg/kg. We observed the changes of GOT, GPT, ${\gamma}$-GTP, Total bilirubin, LDH, ALP, Total cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, WBC, RBC, HGB, Hct. Results & Conclusion: 1. In the change of GPT content, as compared with control group, SHA-2, SHA-3 groups were significantly decreased. 2. In the change of ${\gamma}$-GTP content, as compared with control group, SHA-1, SHA-2 groups were significantly decreased. 3. In the change of Total bilirubin content, as compared with control group, SHA-2 group was significantly decreased.

배 추출 펙틴이 2K1C 고혈압 흰쥐의 혈압, 혈장 Renin, ANP 및 Cardiac Hypertrophy에 미치는 영향

배에서 추출된 pectin과 사과에서 추출된 pectin의 3주간 투여가 2K1C 고혈압 흰쥐의 일간 혈압 변화, 혈장 renin, ANP 변화 및 cardiac hypertrophy 변화를 관찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 일간 혈압변화에서 대조군에 비하여 APA군의 15일째에 유의한 감소를 보였고, 19일째에 한계적으로 유의한 감소를 나타내었으며, AP-B군의 8일째와 15일째에 유의한 감소를 나타내었으며, AP-C군의 15일째에 한계적으로 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 또한 대조군에 비하여 PPA군은 모든 기간 동안 유의성을 나타내지 않았으며, PP-B군의 8일째와 15일째에 유의한 감소를 나타내었으며, PP-C군의 15일째에 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 혈장 renin 변화에 있어서 대조군에 비하여 apple pectin이 투여된 군에서는 모두 유의한 변화가 없었으며, pear pectin이 투여된 PP-B군에서 한계적으로 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 혈장 ANP 변화에 있어서 대조군에 비하여 apple pectin이 투여된 군에서는 모두 유의한 변화가 없었으며, pear pectin이 투여된 PP-B군에서 유의한 증가를 나타내었다. Cardiac hypertrophy 변화에 있어서 대조군에 비하여 apple pectin이 투여된 군에서는 모두 유의한 변화가 없었으며, pear pectin이 투여된 PP-C군에서 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. Oriental pear was used as treatment of asthma, control of blood pressure tonic medicine vasoactio, diabetes in oriental medicine. In this study, it was investigated that pear pectin effects on cardiovascular system as blood pressure and renin and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in plasma, cardiac hypertrophy. The experiments were performed on Sprague-Dawley rats, 2K1C hypertension model was prepared by constricting the left renal artery with a sliver clip. Animals were then divided into four groups, 5 ㎎/㎏, 10 ㎎/㎏, 15 ㎎/㎏ and the control, pear pectin and apple pectin solutions were supplied with them. The blood pressure was more decreased in pear pectin 10 ㎎/㎏ than in apple pectin. The plasma ANP was decreased in pear pectin 10 ㎎/㎏, and renin was increased in same concentration of drug. Cardiac hypertrophy had a tendency to decrease in pear pectin 15 ㎎/㎏, but was not statistically significant compared to control group.
배(梨) 추출물과 길경(桔梗) 행인(杏仁) 배합제제의 용량 및 기간별 투여가 Ovalbumin으로 유발된 천식 생쥐에 미치는 영향

Objectives: Oriental pear was used as traditional remedies for respiratory diseases like cough and asthma etc. The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of preventing asthma by the combination of phenolic compound extracted from pear and herbal drugs. Methods: In order to study the effects of preventing asthma by the combination of phenolic compound extracted from pear and herbal drugs (Platycodon grandiflorum, Prunus armeniaca) on allergic asthma, mice were pre-treated by oral administration of the solution before antigen sensitization for 10 days and 20days. And 2 days later, mice were actively sensitized with a subcutaneous injection of ovalbumin and 13 days later, they were provoked with ovalbumin aerosols. The experimental groups were divided 6groups (10d1P, 10d2P, 10d4P, 20d1P, 20d2P and 20d4P) by meditation quantity and period. We measured isometric contractile responses to acetylcholine (ACh) and KCl in the isolated tracheal smooth muscle (TSM), IL-4, eosinophil and lymphocyte in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), IgE in serum, WBC, RBC and hemoglobin in blood. Results: Contractile responses of TSM to ACh, the sensitivity of TSM to Ach and the maximal contractile response of TSM to KCl were decreased by direct proportion of meditation quantity. Eosinophil and IL-4 level in BALF were more significantly decreased, and IgE level in serum was more significantly increased in 10d4P and 20d4P group than the control group. Conclusions: Based on the above results, it is assumed that oral administration of the combination of phenolic compound extracted from pear and herbal drugs (Platycodon grandiflorum, Prunus armeniaca) can help the preventing effects of allergic asthma.
