한국적인 무도를 표방한 용무도의 발전과정과 향후과제에 대하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 용무도는 학문적, 기술적으로 인정받아 국내·외에 보급할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 제도권에서 인정받을 수 있었다. 둘째, 경기화에서 폐지되었던 연무대회는 향후 기술의 다양성 차원에서 실시되어야 할 것이며, 지부 활성화 차원에서 축소 및 중단된 지부대회의 개최와 창립이후 활동이 부진한 지부의 활동 강화 및 독려를 실시해야 된다. 셋째, 제도권(대한체육회, 법무부, 경찰청)에서 인정하는 무도단체로 용무도가 선정된 것은 고무적인 일이지만 일반인과 유아 및 노인들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 용무도의 프로그램이 개발 되어야 할 것이며, 아울러 일선 도장에서 활용할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하여 보급해야 한다. 넷째, 국제용무도연맹의 활동을 강화하여 미국, 유럽, 인도네시아, 캄보디아의 체계적인 지원이 있어야 하며, 미 설립된 지역에 보급할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 아울러 세계용무도연맹과 국제용무도연맹의 통합으로 용무도의 국제기구가 단일 기구로 활동할 수 있도록 해야 한다. This study looked into the current position and problems of Yongmoodo and results are as follows. First, Yongmoodo was able to be spread at national and abroad after being recognized academically and technically, and was able to achieve a position recognized within the established institutions. Second, performing competition must be implemented in the future in a dimension of diversity of techniques. Local competition should be increased, and local branches should also be enhanced and motivated in terms of revitalization of branches. Third, selection of Yongmoodo as a martial art organization recognized by the established institutions is encouraging, however, programs that ordinary persons, children and the old can access easily must be developed. Fourth, systematic support for the United States, Europe, Indonesia and Cambodia should be provided by enhancing activities of International Yongmoodo Federation, and Yongmoodo should be distributed in the area where branch offices are not established.
