H.264 인트라 프레임의 Rate Distortion 성능 향상을 위한 모드 결정 기법

H.264/AVC는 기존 영상 압축 표준과 달리 Intra 부호화에서도 가변 크기 블록과 예측 부호화를 사용하여 압축 효율을 높이고 있다. 한 매크로 블록을 부호화 하는 경우 I16x16 모드에서 4가지, I4x4 모드에서 9가지 예측 모드 중 가장 좋은 성능을 보이는 모드를 선택하여 부호화를 행한다. 현재 H.264 참조 소프트웨어인 JM에서는 모드 결정 방법으로 RDO (Rate Distortion Optimization)를 채택하여 사용하고 있으며 이는 RD 관점에서 가장 좋은 성능을 보이는 모드를 선택하여 부호화를 행하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC Intra 부호화의 부호화 효율을 향상 시킬 수 있는 모드 결정 방법을 제안한다. RDO는 영상 부호화기에 적용되는 과정에서 복잡도를 줄이기 위하여 부호화 되는 단위 블록들의 부호화 결과는 독립이라는 가정을 하였다. 하지만 실제 H.264/AVC 인트라 부호화 구조는 인접 블록의 이미 부호화 된 픽셀 값을 사용함으로써 인접 블록의 부호화 결과에 영향을 받도록 되어있다. 때문에 제안하는 방법은 이 블록 간 부호화 결과가 종속이라는 점을 고려하여, 기존 RDO 내 I4x4 예측 모드 결정 과정 중 다음 블록의 예측을 위해 사용되는 현재 블록 내 화소 값의 왜곡에 중점을 두어 모드 결정을 하는 과정을 추가함으로써 압축 성능 향상을 꾀한다. 제안하는 모드 결정 방법은 다양한 시퀀스와 QP에서 같은 화질대비 0.64~1.65%의 비트율 감소나 같은 비트율 대비 0.049~0.101dB의 PSNR 향상을 보인다.

Purpose: One of the main contributors to proximal fifth metatarsal fracture is ankle inversion and the incidence of recurrence may increase in patients with ankle instability. So, the authors confirmed the patients of proximal fifth metatarsal fracture with ankle instability by checking the history and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and assessed the value of MRI as therapeutic prognosis and clinical indicators for prevention of recurrence. Materials and Methods: Patients with proximal fifth metatarsal fractures visited our hospital during recent five years were reviewed. 35 patients with suspected damage by ankle inversion had been identified a history of ankle instability and checked the hindfoot malalignment through hindfoot alignment view and MRI was performed prospectively. The patients was devided to three groups on the location of fracture site and the groups were compared each other. Results: The mean time from injury to checking MRI was 10.7 days. There was no structural abnormality and was no significant difference according to the location of fracture. The patients with history of ankle inversion were 31(88.6%) and the patients with history of chronic or recurrent injury were 22 patients (62.9%). The lesion of MRI related to lateral ankle instability were identified in all patients. Conclusion: This study noted a high incidence of lateral ankle instability that was identified by MRI in the patients of proximal fifth metatarsal fracture. Aggressive treatment for lateral ankle instability should be needed for complications as proximal fifth metatarsal fracture to reduce the recurrence and occurrence.
아킬레스건 손상 후 고정기간에 따른 기계적 수용기의 변화

Purpose: This study was designed to determine the quantitative changes of the numbers of the mechanoreceptors in the experimentally tenotomized Achilles tendon of rabbits as compared with short-term immobilization and long-term immobilization. Materials and Methods: 14 white rabbits were used. After tenotomizing the right Achilles tendon, the subjects were divided into 2 groups according to the periods of immobilizaton. The left side of each Achilles tendon of the rabbits were used as controls. The tendons were stained with a modified gold-chloride method. Results: The number of mechanoreceptor was significantly decreased in the tenotomized Achilles tendon group than the control group (p<0.01). There was no statistical difference between the two experimental groups in the numbers of the mechanoreceptors (p>0.01). Conclusion: The injured Achilles tendons may more vulnerable to injury because of the decreased numbers of mechanoreceptors, but no difference between the periods of immobilization. It may suggest that post-operative immobilization period may not affect on the outcome of operative treatment from the viewpoint of mechanoreceptors.

Creep behavior of 316L stainless steel was experimentally investigated using small punch (SP) specimens produced by the selective laser melting (SLM) with various processing parameters. Five rectangular blocks were fabricated from gas atomized powder using the SLM. Various combinations of the processing parameters were used in the SLM process, such as the scanning speed and the laser power, when the energy density was kept as a constant. The scanning speed was increased from 336 to 784 mm/s, while the laser power was simultaneously increased from 165 to 385 W. The microstructural characteristics of each block were examined to verify the manufacturing conditions. Internal defects such as pores and unmelted powder were observed in the specimens fabricated when the low laser power was used. Small punch (SP) creep tests were carried out at 650 o C in the applied load range of 320-550 N. Creep-rupture life and Norton’s power law creep deformation constants were measured. The results showed that even though the energy density condition was same for all of the creep specimens, those with higher laser power showed better creep resistance. Since it was known that a higher scanning speed could deteriorate the creep resistance, the higher creep resistance under the high scanning speed condition was indebted to the higher laser power used. The observed creep behavior of the SLM blocks was explained in relation to the microstructures.
한방치료가 기능성 소화불량증 환자의 위전도 소견에 미치는 효과

Background & Object: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Traditional Korean medical therapy on gastric myoelectrical activity in patients with functional dyspepsia. Methods: 29 patients(male 10, female 19) were divided into two groups; Inpatient group(N=10, male 1, female 9) and outpatient group(N=19, male 9, female 10). 10 healthy people participated in this study as normal controls. Gastric motility was recorded and analyzed by electrogastrography(EGG) during fasting and postprandial periods. Hospital treatment included electroacupuncture on ST36, acupuncture, and herbal medicine. Outpatients were treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture. Inpatients underwent hospital treatment for two weeks, and after discharge they were treated as outpatients for six weeks. In inpatient group, EGG was recorded before and after hospital treatment and it was recorded at six weeks after discharge. In outpatient group, EGG was recorded before starting treatment and it was recorded once a every six weeks for twelve weeks. Results: There was no significant difference in EGG parameters between before and after therapy in outpatient group. In inpatient group, postprandial normal slow wave increased after hospital treatment(from $33.94{\pm}14.13$ to $62.63{\pm}20.18$, p<0.05) and postprandial tachygastria decreased(from $43.53{\pm}13.99$ to $28.30{\pm}16.63$, p<0.05) and arrhythmia decreased(from $20.35{\pm}15.91$ to $5.67{\pm}6.80$, p<0.05). Conclusions: Results suggest that hospital treatment through electroacupuncture on ST36, acupuncture, and herbal medicine is useful to improve gastric myoelectrical activity in Patients with Functional Dyspepsia.
