High-temperature oxidation resistance of 7 wt. % Y₂O₃-ZrO₂ thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) irradiated by high-intensity pulsed ion beam (HIPIB) has been investigated in a cyclic oxidation condition at 1050 ℃×1 h. The characteristics of the columnar grains disappeared after HIPIB irradiation at the ion current densities of 100-200 A/㎠, and the irradiated surface presented a smoothed, densified feature after the remelting and ablation due to the HIPIB irradiation. The cross-sectional morphologies of HIPIB-irradiated TBCs show less oxidation of the NiCoCrAlY bonding layer, with a thinner thermally grown oxide (TGO) layer. The morphology observation is consistent with the results of cyclic oxidation test. It is found that the inward diffusion of oxygen through TBCs can be significantly impeded by the desified top layer by the HIPIB irradiation, thus limiting the oxidation of the bonding layer, improving the overall oxidation resistance of the irradiated TBCs.
The purpose of this study is to find the optimization processing on Oil-separator brazing using Taguchi method which was generally used to analyze the effects of various control factors. Mini-Tab is a good for program that is making a selection using Taguchi method. The microstructures and mechanical properties of OFHC copper/STKM 11 A for Oil-separator joints brazed using BAg and BCuP filler metal in NH₃ atmospheres were performed. Interfacial microstructures were observed in reaction layer. First, We selected proper filler metal for Oil-separator brazing through the observation of SEM micrographs and tensile test. A brazing strength causes of decline with defects of pin hole and base metal by lack of penetration. In tensile test, the properties of BCuP are better than other filler metal that has yield strength of elasticity area But it have so many defects. Second, using seleted filler metal, We applied Diffused Taguchi method by Mini-Tab. Finally, selected conditions improved more 12% for brazing strength than current processing on Oil-separator.
The microstructures and mechanical properties of OFHC copper/STKM 11A for D-tube joints brazed using BAg filler metal at 870℃ for 20 minutes in NH₃ atmospheres were performed. Interfacial microstructures were observed in reaction layer. A brazing strength causes of decline with defects of pin hole and base metal by lack of penetration. In tensile test, the properties of joints clearance of 0.01㎜ are better than other joints clearance that has yield strength of elasticity area with the brazing length of 2.5㎜, and also suitable for the case of brazing length of 5.0mm. According to the results of FEA (finite element analysis) on the tensile test, the maximum stress and strain were generated apart from the interface in large deformation. Diffused layer was formed by counter diffusion action of base metal and filler metal layer, and crack between two base metals was not discovered. This is the main reason that fracture of test piece does not appear in copper base metal, and brazing department forms good junctures.
CNT/CFRP(Carbon Nano Tube/ Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) composites have several excellent mechanical properties including, high strength, young modulus, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and electronic shielding etc. In this study, CNT/CFRP composites were manufactured by varying the CNT volume ratio of 2wt% and 3wt%. It was observed that, increasing the CNT volume ratio improves the mechanical property, e.g., tensile strength, impact and wear resistance.
Diamond like carbon coatings have excellent wear properties with high hardness. The hardness and adhesion properties vary with sp3/sp2 ratio and coating thickness. In this research, effect of coating thickness on stainless steel substrate has studied. Diamond like carbon coatings of 300nm, 500nm, and 650nm has deposited using Filter Cathodic Vacuum Arc System with Magnetron sputtered Chromium interlayer. The characterization includes, Field Emission Electron Microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, Tribology and Adhesion strength evaluation. It was concluded that, surface finish decreased with increase in coating thickness. Maximum ID/IG of 0.84 was obtained for 30nm diamond like carbon coated stainless steel. The minimum average friction coefficient of 0.115 was obtained for 500nm coating. Moreover, it was observed that, friction coefficient decrease with increase in coating thickness in initial phases, after certain time it increase directly proportional to thickness. For adhesion strength, LC1 was found good for 650nm and LC2 for 500nm respectively.
We developed 'Turny type power seat' that the disabled and old persons can safely get on and off a car from its driving seat. The developed power seat in this study is available located on the vehicle such as minivan, car. Because it is available located on the car with the rotation’s radius reduced that the height of getting on and off can be regulated. As a result, structure analysis of power seat modeling is based on a basis of ADA platform deflection to ensure safety. If the development of productive force is assured, the situation that the authoritative power seat depends on import will be replaced.
