This essay is a study on the postcolonialism in the poems of Philippines and Korea during the period of colonial occupation. The outcomes of the study can be summarized in three things. First, the poets of both countries created the images of self-sacrificed patriots disregarding their lives for the love of nation. The entranced emotion for the love of nation in the poems of the Philippino poet, Jose Rizal and the poems of Sim, Hoon well account for the agony of life under the occupation and the depth of desire for the independence of country. Second, the discourse of resistance against the ruling discourse of the ruling power radiates some effects by using the various and appropriate rhetoric. The Philippino poets coped with the strategies of colonizing consciousness of America using the ironies along with other techniques of expression. Korean poets also kept on pursuing the various forms of poems and the ways of rhetorics. Third, the ambivalent contradicted emotion of the orientalism and desires of the westerners evoke the ambivalent responses from the colonized people. They are the overturning and the resistance through the obedient catching up and a fake imitation. The representative example is a poem of Juan Pastrana in which he put some pressure on the power of America by means of imitation. The poems of Youn, Dong-Ju show the unique structure in which the ambivalent values are combined into one.

Recently many domestic universities have offered the courses in cyber spaces utilizing the virtual university systems. The virtual university system gives so many benefits as compared with the traditional face-to-face classroom system. Professors who offer the courses can design and provide various types of learning modes for the students and effectively provide various materials relevant to the courses. Students can easily attend to the class in a convenient time and location, learn according to their preferred mode of learning and share the information and learning experiences each other. In order to implement desirable virtual university system, we need to evaluate the performance of virtual university and suggest. implementing strategies for efficient virtual university system. For this purpose, we developed various factors for evaluating the performance of virtual university, surveyed questionnaires from professors and students who participate in the virtual class courses fall semester of last year, evaluated the current virtual university systems, and suggested implementing strategies for efficient virtual university system.

An efficient method is developed for the shape optimization of arbitrary structures. The sequential linear programming is used for minimization problems. Selected set of master nodes are employed as design variables and assigned to move towards the normal direction. After adapting the nodes on the design boundary, the B-spline curves and mesh smoothing schemes are used to maintain the finite element in good quality. A numerical implementation of optimum design of an automobile torque converter piston subjected to a pressure load is presented.<br/> <br/>

유교가 중등학교 교장의 지도성에 미친 영향

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라에서 유교가 중등학교 교장들의 지도성에 어떤 영향을 주고 있는가를 검증하기 위한 것이다. 292명의 중등학교 교장이 설문조사에 응답하였으며, 이들에게는 유교와 지도성 유형에 관한 질문이 주어졌다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유교는 우리나라의 중등학교 교장들에게 깊은 영향을 주고 있다. 둘째, 권위적·민주적 지도성이 함께 우리나라의 중등학교 교장들에게 영향을 주고 있다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국의 교육행정문화에 새로운 서구적인 제도의 도엽이나 개혁, 변화를 시도하려는 노력은 유교적인 요소들을 고려하지 않고는 결코 성공할 수 없다. 둘째, 서구에서 개발된 지도성 이론들 이 한국의 경우에는 잘 맞지 않는다. 따라서 한국의 독특한 교육행정 문화를 설명할 수 있는 새로운 지도성 이론을 개발할 필요가 있다. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of Korean culture on educational administration in South Korea. A main objective was to investigate the impact of Confucian values on Korean principal's leadership. A literature review traced the history of educational administration in South Korea, Leadership styles, and Confucian cultures. A purposeful sample of Korean secondary school principals(n=292) was taken. The study tested the interaction between Confucianism and Korean principal's leadership styles by factor analysis, correlation, and regression. The study found the following: 1) Confucianism has a strong impact on the secondary school Korean principals. 2) Korean principals reported adherence to both authoritative and democratic leadership styles. 3) Data from the sample revealed that Korean administrators come to their position late in their careers, are predominantly male, and usually fifty years or older. 4) No relationships were found between school characteristics and demographic characteristics and leadership styles. The study concludes by suggesting that any attempt to change or westernize the cultural context of educational administration in Korea must accomodate the strong adherence to Confucian values. Second, since there was no discrimination by the respondents between authoritative and democratic leadership styles, the concepts imbedded in these traditional measures of leadership may be too ground in western conceptions of leadership to serve well in the Korean context.

This study is to analyze the impact on export strategies and the determints for export performance in Korean electronics industry. For the study, some variables such as organization characteristics, export marketing strategies and foreign target market environments are selected throgh review the existing literature and interviewing export managers. The purpose of the study is to verify which variables are affected to export performance. Some medium-sized exporting electronics industry art selected and questionnaires are distributed to those firms for statistical analysis. Factor analysis has been practiced for variable's validity test and variable's selection Then, correlation analysis has been practiced to review the effect between selected variables from factor analysis and export performance. The result of the study is summarized as belows. Firstly, from reviewing the relationship between organization characteristics and export performance, export intensity is significantly affected by top management, export operating unit, export-related R&D expenditure and the ratio of technological intensity on exporting goods. Export growth rate is significantly affected by export-related R&D expenditure and the ratio of technological intensity on exporting goods. Secondly, the relationship between export marketing strategy and export performance, export intensity is significantly affected by those strategy such a considering foreign customer's needs when developing products, performing active marketing activities in foreign market, practicing after-sale service, and diversifying foreign market Export growth rate is significantly affected by the descrimination between export and domestic product Thirdly, in the relationship between foreign tarket market environment and export performance, export intensity is significantly affected by stable factors in foreign market industrialization level and potential market demand As a result export performance can be improved by gathering foreign market information, performing active marketing activities and building the image of one's brand through product quality improvement To generlize the result of the study, there are some limitations ; (i) enough samples were not selected because of difficulty in sampling procedure, (ii) it is lacked to review the dynamic relationship for exporting because this study is analyzed cross - sectional.
