본 연구는 맥동전자장이 고지혈증 관련 혈액 성분, 항산화 효소와 활성 산소에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 관찰하기 위하여 실시하였다. 실험군은 정상식이군, 고지방식이군과 고지방식이-맥동전자장 적용군의 3군으로 나누었다. 맥동 전자장은 맥동 전자장 에너지 치료기를 이용하였다. 혈액 성분의 검사 항목은 혈당, 유리지방산, 중성지방 및 콜레스테롤, 인슐린이고, 항산화 효소와 활성 산소의 검사는 글루타치온, 글루타치온 환원효소, 크산틴, 과산화지질을 측정하였다. 그 결과 맥동전자장 적용은 혈액 구성성분과 GSH와 GRD를 고지장식이 수준에서 정상식이 수준으로 상승시켰으며, XO와 MDA는 고지방식이 수준에서 정상 식이 수준으로 낮추어 주는 개선효과를 나타내었다. 그러므로 맥동전자장의 적용은 고지혈증 흰쥐의 혈액성분의 변화, 항산화 효소의 증가, 활성 산화의 억제에 효과적인 치료 방법이라 할 수 있다. The present study was aimed to investigate the effects of the application of pulsed electromagnetic fields on the blood components associated hyperlipidemia, antioxidant enzymes and reactive oxygen. The subjects were divided into three groups: General Diet, High fat Diet, High fat diet and pulsed electromagnetic fields. Pulsed electromagnetic field was applied with pulsed electromagnetic energy therapy equipment. The Glucose, free fatty acids, triglycerides, cholesterol and insulin was used to measure hyperlipidemia-related blood components, and the GSH, GRD, XO and MDA was used to measure antioxidant enzymes and reactive oxygen. The applied pulsed electromagnetic field has improved the concentrations of blood components and increasing GSH and GRD, that were decreased due to a high-fat diet and by reducing the increased MDA and XO to a level of general diet group. Therefore, the applied pulsed electromagnetic field can be the effective treatment for changes in the blood composition of hyperlipidemic rats, enhancement of antioxidative activity and the inhibition of reactive oxygen.
The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of vibration application on motor function and BDNF expression after crushing nerve injury of rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (N=18), 8 weeks age and weight from 250 to 300 g were used for this study. Crush injuries were produced on the right sciatic nerve. Vibration was applied to experimental group (N=9) on injured site at 3, 7 and 13 day. For compare the motor function between control and experimental group, the tilting plane test was measured at each gorup. The expressions of BDNF on S2 segment of spinal cord by immunohistochemistry were used for the result of motor function and peripheral nerve regeneration, respectively. Both gourps were significant increased changes of tilting plane test with the lapse of time, but tilting plane rest score were more significant in experimental group than in control, and this differences were remarkable at 14 days after sciatic nerve crush injury. Between experimental and control group, BDNF expressions after sciatic nerve crush injury were significant different. BDNF expression were non-significant in control group, but experimental group were observed significant increased change of BDNF expression with the lapse of time. These results suggest that vibration application is essential factor for early phase after crushing nerve injury. In conclusion, vibration application was contributed to motor function and nerve regeneration and could be used for nerve injury treatment.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study to investigate the effects of exercise on lumbar stabilization in muscle activity and isokinetic muscle strength of female with chronic low back pain. METHODS: The candidates was chose to twenty women in their 30s and 40s complaining back pain for over 12 weeks and consist of 10 people for lumbar stabilization and general physical therapy group(PL group), another 10 people for general physical therapy group(GP group). Lumbar stabilization exercise was conducted for 8 weeks and was comprised of 60 minutes for two times a week. In order to examine the effects of lumbar stabilization, results in the present study were analyzed maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) using electromyogram to measure muscle activity and isokinetic performance including peak torque and average power at the pre to post. RESULTS: The following are results in this study. The MVIC and isokinetic muscle strength were gradually increased in all group. As the result of the test of the MVIC and isokinetic muscle strength, the difference of lumbar stabilization and general physical therapy group is statistically more significant than that of general physical therapy group. CONCLUSION: In the present study, results indicate that lumbar stabilization helps to improve the muscle activity and isokinetic muscle strength.
Purpose This study was designed to investigate the effects of pulsed electromagnetic field on functional recovery and expression of GAP-43 after incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats. Methods To confirm the damage of SCI and effects of pulsed electromagnetic field, 20 Sprague-Dawley male rats were used and divided randomly 2groups (SCI, PEMF). Incomplete SCI was induced by using modified NYU drop model. After operation, functional recovery test, immunohistochemistry and western blot analysis were measured at 1, 2, 3 weeks. Pulsed electromagnetic field were apply three weeks (one times a day, five days a week and twenty minutes a session). Results In the this study, applications of pulsed electromagnetic field after incomplete SCI induced the significant improvement in functional recovery and expression of neurotrophic factor. The results were as follows; Foot print test, PEMF were significantly decreased than the SCI (p<.05). Expression of GAP-43, PEMF were significantly increased than the SCI at 2 and 3 weeks (p<.05). Conclusion In conclusion, pulsed electromagnetic field were positive effect in functional recovery and expression of GAP-43 after incomplete SCI in rats.
Purpose:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of angular velocity on muscle strength of biceps brachii. Methods:Subjects was classified into two groups, which were 60°/sec angular velocity group(n=15) and 240°/sec angular velocity group(n=15). Each group was applied to perform the isokinetic exercises on flexion muscle group for each 10 times in 3 set (3 days per a week for 2 weeks). Muscle strength was measured using peak torque of biceps brachii. Results:The results were as follows: The peak torque was significantly increased after 60°/sec angular velocity isokinetic exercise application(p<05), however, it was not significantly after 240°/sec angular velocity isokinetic exercise application(p>.05). Conclusions:This study showed that 60°/sec angular velocity isokinetic exercise application were effective treatment strategy on increase of muscle strength. Therefore, it could be considered as a treatment method in the athlete and patients with musculoskeletal disease.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of vibration on muscle atrophy model lead to spinal cord injury. Twenty-four Sprague-Dawley male rats were operated with spinal cord injury and randomly devided two groups, Control and Experimental groups. Experimental group was applicated two times a day, five days a week and fifteen minutes a session by vibration device. In order to observe the effect of vibration, this study observed BDNF expression in rat lumbar spinal cord after spinal cord injury. In addition, the tilting plane test was measured at each 3, 7, 14, 21 days group. The tilting plane test is gradually increased each group. In 21 days group, there is significant difference between control and experimental group. The immunoreactivity of BDNF in the rat spinal cord was gradually increased in each group. In 21 days group, there is significant difference between control and experimental group.
Purpose The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of image training and vibration on performance of vertical jumping. Methods Subjects was classified into two groups, which were image training group (n=20) and vibration application group (n=20). The standard methods of each intervention were image training with listening recorded indication for 5 minute and vibration with speed of 1200±200 rpm, Muscle strength was measured using vertical jump performance, Results The vertical jump performance was significantly increased after image training and vibration application (p<.05), however, it was more significantly after image training (p<.05), Conclusion This study showed that image training and vibration application were effective treatment strategy on increase of muscle strength. Therefore, it could be considered as a treatment method in the patients with musculoskeletal disease including fracture, chronic degenerative disease and disuse atrophy.
