Recently climbing stairs robot is developed for a variety of purpose. However, it’s only possible for the robot to climb the stairs through the wheel. This study leads to develop mechanism for the robot which can help it to climb the staircase automatically by rack and pinion. This climbing stair robot is composed of Arduino board for control, ultrasonic sensor for recognition the distance, four DC motors(rack and pinion) for drive. The developed mechanism can be used development in wheelchair and exploration robot.
