Lingual thyroid is a rare clinical entity that is due to the failure of the thyroid gland to descend early in the course of embryogenesis. It may be present with symptoms of dysphagia and upper airway obstruction. We report here on the case of a 63-year-old female who was scheduled for an operation for lumbar disc herniation and she could not be intubated. The cause of the airway obstruction was an ectopic thyroid at the base of the tongue, which made visualization of the glottis impossible. Several attempts at endotracheal intubation were unsuccessful. Fortunately, the patient was mask ventilated. We awakened the patient and consulted an otolaryngologist, and she was diagnosed with lingual thyroid. After a week, she was operated on using spinal anesthesia. We experienced a case of acute cerebral infarction during spinal anesthesia. The patient was a seventy years old male with diagnosis of right femur periprosthetic fracture scheduled for a open reduction & internal fixation under spinal anesthesia. Intraoperatively, he developed a mental confusion and his blood pressure decreased from 115/70 mmHg to 80/45 mmHg. After operation, he appeared to have left hemiparesis and left facial palsy. Angiogram revealed thrombus in superior division of the right middle cerebral artery. He expired 3 months after the surgery despite supportive measures. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2007; 52: 346~9)

범퍼와 차체사이의 크래쉬 박스로 저속충돌 시 충격에너지를 흡수하여 범퍼이후 차체에 에너지를 저감시켜 차량의 안전성 및 수리비 저감 등에 있어서도 매우 효과적인 역할을 하는 부품으로 이에 대한 개발을 위해 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스에 알루미늄 폼을 삽입하여 압축실험으로 하중-변위의 관계를 분석하고 압축 특성을 비교하였다. 또한 유한요소로 모델링하고 구조해석을 수행하여 변위에 따른 하중을 검증하였다.

This study analyzes the result with dynamic simulation about deformation according to time when a car impacts bollard. These results are shown as followings. The maximum deformation is shown at the lower part of front grass in case of the impact of front or passenger seat but this deformation is shown at the lower part of rear bumper in case of double impact. The maximum equivalent stress is shown at the upper part by the side grass of driver seat at the elapsed time of 0.00075 second after impact in case of the impact of front or passenger seat but this deformation is shown at the front bonnet at the elapsed time of 0.004 second after the additional impact in case of double impact. The maximum total deformation or equivalent stress is shown nearly same in case of the impact of front or passenger seat. But the value of this deformation or equivalent stress in case of the impact of front or passenger seat is shown with 2 times or more than 17% respectively as this value in case of double impact.

This study is analyzed by impact simulation according to material property at terminal case of hand phone. Maximum equivalent stress or strain at plastic is 40 times as great as that at magnesium alloy. And the next greatest stress or strain is shown at aluminium alloy. The value of maximum equivalent stress is shown as 6.5 ㎫ in case of plastic, magnesium alloy and aluminium alloy. Maximum shear strain at plastic is 40 times as great as that at magnesium alloy. And the next greatest strain is shown at aluminium alloy. The value of deformation or strain at magnesium alloy and aluminium alloy is not different.

본 연구에서는 비닐하우스 기존모델과 이번에 개발한 모델의 모델링 하였으며, 해석은 폭설이 250mm 왔을 때 쌓인 눈의 하중에 의하여 비닐하우스가 어떠한 변형을 하는 지를 구조해석을 통하여 비교하는 것이 주된 목적이다. 기존의 비닐하우스와 개발한 비닐하우스의 구조에 있어서 개발 모델을 적용함으로서 기존 모델보다 비용이 덜 들고 최대 50% 이상의 변형량을 줄일 수 있어 안정성이 좋고, 그 제작비용도 절감할 수 있다.

This study is to analyze the impact of automotive body with computer simulation. The total deformation, equivalent strain and strain and principal stress are analyzed respectively in case of front, rear and side impacts. The maximum total deformation of side impact is more than 6 times as large as that of rear impact. The maximum equivalent strain or stress of side impact is more than 4 times as large as that of rear impact. These deformation, strain and stress of front impact are a little more than those of rear impact. The maximum principal stress of side impact is more than 4.5 times as large as that of rear impact. This stress of front impact is a little more than that of rear impact.
