본 연구는 자연휴양림 이용객들을 대상으로 자연휴양림 선택 시 중요하게 생각하는 속성을 조사·분석하여 수요자 중심의 양질의 산림복지서비스 제공을 위한 기초자료를 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국립자연휴양림 이용객을 대상으로 62개 방문선택속성을 제시하고 각 속성에 대해 이용자들이 생각하는 중요도를 설문 조사하였다. 329명의 설문응답을 요인 분석한 결과, ‘프로그램 운영관리’, ‘산림경관’, ‘서비스 이용편의성’, ‘편의서비스 제공’, ‘경영관리’, ‘환경관리’, ‘시설안전관리’, ‘숙박시설’, ‘생물종다양성’, ‘프로그램다양성’, ‘위생적인 편의시설’, ‘친환경 건축’의 12개 요인으로 구분되었다. 이 중 ‘산림경관’에 대한 속성이 자연휴양림 이용객들이 공간을 선택할 때 가장 중요하게 생각하는 속성으로 나타났고, ‘프로그램의 다양성’과 ‘프로그램운영관리’요인이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 자연휴양림 서비스 이용객 유형별 선택속성에 대한 중요성 인식 차이를 살펴본 결과, 단체방문객이 가족이나 친구와 방문하는 이용객보다 자연휴양림의 ‘경영관리’영역을 보다 중요하게 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 산림치유 및 산림휴양서비스를 이용하는 집단이 ‘위생적인 편의시설’을 자연휴양림 선택 시 보다 중요한 요인으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과, 일반 국민들은 주로 산림복지 서비스를 이용하기 위한 공간을 선택할 때 산림환경 및 이용 편의와 연계되는 시설요소를 고려하는 것으로 보인다. 하지만 자연휴양림 서비스의 이용 목적에 따른 인식차이는 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 향후 보다 양질의 산림복지서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 기본적으로 건강한 산림환경과 시설이용 편의성을 확보해야 하되, 이용자 유형 및 목적에 특화된 프로그램과 관련 정보를 제공하여 보다 적극적인 이용을 이끌어 내야 할 것이다. This study is intended to make basic data needed to provide user-oriented forest welfare service of good quality by surveying visitors and examining service use attributes that play an important role in individual choice of forest welfare service. To this purpose, a survey of visitors to the National Recreation Forest, a presentative forest welfare service of Korea, was conducted with questionnaire consisted of 62 service choice attributes. As a result of the analysis of 329 responses, choice attributes can be categorized into 12 factors; program operation and management, scenic landscape and forest environment, convenience of service use, providing convenience service, overall management for good service, environmental management, facility safety management, comfortable and clean accommodation, biodiversity, variety of programs, hygienic convenience facility and eco-friendly architecture. It shows that‘scenic landscape and forest environment’ was the most important factor for visitors to choose recreation forest. On the other hand, ‘variety of programs’ and ‘program operation and management’ were less important attribute in service choice. When it comes to examining the difference of choice attributes by visitors’ groups, the group visitors place great importance on ‘management’ related to insurance and manual which can be used in emergency. Also, people who want to use forest therapy and forest recreation service place great importance on hygienic convenience facility. To sum up, this study indicates that people primarily consider attributes of forest environment and facility related to use convenience when they choose and use forest welfare service. However, it also shows that attributes influencing visitors’ choice is different depending on different purposes of visit. Therefore, in order to provide forest welfare service of much better quality in the future, recreational forest have to manage forest environment sustainable and prepare specific programs depending on users’ needs and types.
