Hull-Mounted Sonar(HMS) has been the main equipment to detect and track underwater threats like torpedoes and enemy submarines. The HMS has short warming-up time and is employable independently with sea-state and weather condition. But these bad environmental condition and ship maneuvering make ship's roll and pitch. Ship's roll and pitch make unstability of sensor position, then cause degradation of the HMS performance. In this paper, we will show how the unstability influences the HMS performance, propose the 'Beam Stabilization Beamforming Technique' to overcome these phenomenon. And present the effectiveness of proposed technique by comparing with conventional beamforming result.
여러 개의 참고입력 신호를 사용하는 강인한 주파수 영역 협대역 잡음 제거기

본 논문에서는 여러 개의 참고입력을 사용하는 기존의 주파수 영역 협대역 잡음 제거기의 성능이 참고신호에 포함된 협대역 성분과 광대역 방해 신호에 의해 결정됨을 보였다. 또한 기존의 협대역 잡음 제거기 보다 효율적이고 빠른 수렴 속도를 얻기 위해 주신호와 참고신호들의 MSC(Magnitude Squared Coherence)를 사용하여 참고신호의 SNR을 측정하고, 이를 바탕으로 적응 필터의 갱신 여부를 결정하는 새로운 협대역 적응 잡음 제거 기법을 제안하였다. 수식적 분석을 통하여 광대역 방해 신호의 영향을 분석하였으며, 제안한 기법이 기존 기법보다 더 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인하였다. In this paper, it is shown that the performance of the frequency-domain multi-reference narrowband noise canceller is determined by the narrowband component to the broadband disturbance power ratio in the reference signals. To overcome this problem, a new narrowband ANC is proposed, where the update of the adaptive filter is determined based on SNR of the reference inputs being measured using the magnitude squared coherence (MSC) between the primary and the reference signals. Simulation results show that the proposed ANC has superior performance over the conventional one.

TASS(Towed Array Sonar System) is a sonar system which tows the sensor array behind a platform. Array shape is generally assumed to be a straight line. But the array shape is often distorted by oceanic current or platform maneuvering which causes the performance loss of signal processing method like beamforming. So array shape estimation methods are needed. Typically the method based on Kalman filter using heading sensor is used. In practice, the measurement is corrupted by biases which are caused by rotation of the tow cable, varying magnetic fields and slowly varying stresses in the mechanical construction. Although they can't be calibrated but can be estimated. In this paper, we suggest the array shape estimation method based on Kalman filter compensating the sensor biases.
주파수 영역 수동소나 표적신호 분리 및 잡음 제거 알고리즘

본 논문에서는 다중 표적환경에서 수동소나 표적신호 분리를 위한 주파수 영역 신호분리 및 잡음 제거 알고리즘을 제안한다. 수동소나는 주로 선박 및 항만의 안전을 위해 수중 이동체의 탐지 및 식별에 사용된다. 그러나 여러 수중 잡음 환경과 다중 표적환경에서 다수의 표적신호가 혼재하는 상황에 의해 개별 표적신호의 탐지 및 식별에 어려움을 가진다. 이러한 이유로 주파수 영역에서의 JADE(Joint Approximate Diagonalization of Eigen-matrices)와 심층 신경망(deep neural network) 기반의 SDAE(Stacked Denoising Auto-Encoder)를 이용한 표적신호 분리 및 잡음 제거 알고리즘을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과, 주파수 영역에서 JADE를 사용함이 시간 영역에서 적용함과 비교하여 우수한 분리 성능을 보였다. 또한 SDAE를 함께 수행함으로써 2.64-4.01dB의 신호 대 잡음비(SNR) 향상을 가졌으며, JADE 수행 과정에서 분리되지 않은 신호성분을 제거함으로써 신호분리 성능을 향상시켰다. In this paper, we propose frequency domain signal separation and noise reduction algorithm for separation of passive sonar target signals in multi-target environment. Passive sonar is mainly used for the detection and identification of underwater vehicles for the safety of ships and harbors. However, it is difficult to detect and identify individual target signals due to underwater noise environment and the mixed situation of multiple target signals in multiple target environment. For this reason, we propose a target signal separation and noise reduction algorithm using JADE (Joint Approximation Diagonalization of Eigen-matrices) in frequency domain and SDAE (Stacked Denoising Auto-Encoder) based on deep neural network. Simulation results show that the use of JADE in the frequency domain is superior to that applied in the time domain. In addition, the signal to noise ratio (SNR) improvement of 2.64-4.01dB was achieved by performing SDAE and signal separation performance was improved by eliminating non-separated signal components during JADE performance.
전립선비대증 환자의 수술적 치료에서 경요도 양극성 플라즈마 전립선기화술의 초기경험

Purpose: This study was conducted to introduce the initial experiences with transurethral bipolar plasma vaporization of the prostate (TBPVP) using ‘mushroom’ vapo-resection electrode for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in Korean men. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 42 consecutive patients underwent TBPVP performed by a single surgeon between October 2009 and April 2011. The patients were assessed preoperatively and perioperatively, and were followed at 2, 4, and 8 weeks postoperatively. Patient baseline characteristics, perioperative data, postoperative outcomes, and major complications were recorded. Results: The mean age at surgery was 70.93±6.26 years. The mean prostate size was 64.10±17.83ml. The mean operation time was 59.40±25.99min, and the mean irrigation fluid volume during procedure was 26,000±10,511ml. The mean duration of catheterization was 3.57±0.94 days. The blood loss was minimal, and there was only 1 transfusion for the patient with ongoing heparization. Compared with baseline, there were significant improvements in IPSS, QoL, Qmax and postvoiding residual urine after surgery. Conclusions: The new TBPVP showed good short-term safety and efficacy for the treatment of Korean patients with BPH.
