PEGylation, the attachment of polyethylene glycol (PEG) to proteins, is currently main technology for improving efficacy of protein drugs. This technology can prolong the plasma half-life, augment the in vivo stability, and diminish the immunogenicity of therapeutic proteins. Therefore, PEGylated proteins have the enhanced therapeutic efficacy and the reduced undesirable effects versus their native therapeutics. Since the first PEGylated protein product appeared on the market in the early 1990s, currently ten PEGylated protein products have been launched. These marketed drug products have proved the applicability and safety of the PEGylation technology. This review presents overview of PEGylation technology and addresses characteristics of PEGylation methods applied for the development of several protein drugs.

Liposomes are spherical vesicles composed of a bilayer (uni-lamellar) and/or a concentric series of multiple bilayer (multi-lamellar) separated by aqueous compartments formed by amphipathic molecules, such as phospholipids. Liposomes deliver drugs via encapsulation in inner aqueous or lipid compartments and have advantages such as control of drug release and distribution, alleviation of toxicity, and drug targeting. Since the launch of the first liposomal drug Doxil??, a variety of products using a liposomal drug delivery system have been developed and commercialized. Recently, several drug candidates developed with sophisticated and diverse technologies have been undergoing clinical trials. In this review, the pharmaceutical characteristics of approved liposomal drugs are overviewed, and the recent advances in liposome technology through candidates in clinical trials are highlighted.

Rogowski coil is a kind of sensor for high amplitude and very short period current and suitable for the measurement of PD pulse. This paper have simulated the relations between PD signals and Rogowski coil which has its own equivalent circuit and investigated signals of Rogowski coil induced by PD pulse current and compared with the PD signal obtained from conventional PD measuring system in accordance with IEC60270.
