          각막굴절수술에서 웨이브프론트가이드와 웨이브프론트최적화 방식의 고위수차 및 시력의 비교

          Purpose: To compare higher-order aberrations (HOAs) and visual acuity after wavefront-guided and wavefront-optimized laser keratorefractive surgery. Methods: This retrospective study consisted of consecutive cases of eyes that underwent wavefront-guided (VISX S4 CustomVue<sup>®) or wavefront-optimized (WaveLight<sup>® EX500) laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) or photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). Preoperative and postoperative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), manifest refraction spherical equivalent (MRSE), and preoperative and 3 month postoperative HOAs were compared. Results: There were no statistical differences in UCVA, BCVA, MRSE, or total HOAs in either the LASIK and PRK groups (all <em>p</em> > 0.05). Induced amount of spherical aberration (SA) was significantly lower in the wavefront-optimized LASIK and PRK than wavefront-guided LASIK and PRK. Conclusions: In laser keratorefractive surgery, wavefront-guided and wavefront-optimized platforms produced equivalent visual outcomes and no differences in total HOAs. However, the wavefront-optimized platform caused less spherical aberration 3 months after operation. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(4):480-485

          굴절교정레이저각막절제술 후 트라닐라스트의 각막혼탁 억제에 대한 펜타캠을 이용한 분석

          Purpose: To evaluate the inhibitory effect of tranilast on formation of corneal haze using the Pentacam<SUP>Ⓡ after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). Methods: A prospective, randomized, paired eye study was performed. A total of 60 eyes from 30 patients were enrolled in the present study. Eyes were categorized as myopic eyes <-5 D and ≥-5 D. Patients undergoing PRK were randomized to receive tranilast in one eye and no medication in the contralateral eye. Three months postoperatively, corneal haze was measured with the Pentacam<SUP>Ⓡand compared between the 2 groups. Results: Statistical differences were not found in preoperative data in the tranilast or control groups (all <EM>p</EM> > 0.05). There was a strong decreasing density trend from the apex to the 3 mm radius in both groups (<EM>p </EM>< 0.05). However, postoperative corneal haze in the tranilast group was similar to the control group (<EM>p </EM>> 0.05). Conclusions: The use of tranilast after PRK did not inhibit corneal opacity. Additionally, Pentacam<SUP>Ⓡ can provide a useful objective measure of corneal haze. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(9):1277-1283

          Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effects of excimer laser refractive surgery on eyes with residual refractive error after implantation of ReSTOR<sup>? multifocal intraocular lenses. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 10 eyes of 6 patients who had undergone cataract surgery with implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses. Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) (5 eyes) and laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) (5 eyes) was performed on 10 eyes with residual refractive error. Results: After cataract surgery and before laser surgery, the mean spherical equivalent (SE) was -0.34 ± 0.89 D and the mean astigmatism was 2.08 ± 0.55 D. Six months after laser surgery, the mean SE was -0.33 ± 0.30 D (p = 0.354) and the mean astigmatism was 0.23 ± 0.28 D. The changes in astigmatism between paired preoperative and postoperative values were statistically significant (p < 0.0001). At 6 months after surgery, uncorrected distance visual acuity significantly improved to 0.11 ± 0.10 (log MAR) (p < 0.0001) There were no significant changes in the best corrected distance visual acuity and uncorrected near visual acuity (p = 0.073, p = 0.100). Conclusions: On the basis of predictability and stability, excimer laser surgery appears to be a clinically useful procedure to correct residual refractive error after implantation of ReSTOR<sup>? multifocal intraocular lenses.

          An Investigation of Glyceollin I's Inhibitory Effect on The Mammalian Adenylyl Cyclase

          글리세올린 I 은 다양한 피부 질환의 예방과 치료에 유용한 물질로 주목을 받아왔다. 그러나 피부 멜라닌 형성에 결정적 역할을 담당하는 포유류의 아데니닐 고리화 효소(이하 mAC)에 대한 직접적인 결합 형태와 상호 작용에 대한 연구는 현재까지 연구 보고된 사례가 없었다. 글리세올린 I 의 mAC 활성 부위에 대한 결합 작용 기작을 규명하기 위하여 우선 글리세올린 I과 SQ22,536 (mAC에 결합하여 mAC의 활성을 억제하는 것으로 이미 잘 알려진 단일 화합 물질)의 mAC에 대한 결합 친화도와 결합 형태를 비교 분석 하였다. 글리세올린 I은 mAC의 활성부위에 존재하는 Asp 1018, Trp 1020, Asn 1025와 각각 3개의 수소결합을 형성하는 것으로 분석되었고 SQ22,536은 mAC 활성부위의 Asp 1018, Asn 1025와 2개의 수소결합을 형성하여 글리세올린 I이 상대적으로 우월하게 결합하는 것으로 분석되었다. 글리세올린 I은 또한 포스콜린(forskolin)에 의해서 유도되는 세포내 멜라닌 형성 2차 신호전달 물질인 cyclic AMP의 생성과 이로인해 유발되는 단백질 인산화 효소 A의 인산화를 효과적으로 억제하는 것을 멜라노마 세포 실험을 통하여 확인하였다. 또한 글리세올린 I 을 장시간 세포에 투여하여도 세포의 생존률에는 영향을 주지 않음을 확인하였다. 본 연구 통하여 규명된 글리세올린 I의 mAC 활성 억제 효능 및 멜라닌 생성 신호전달 기작을 조절하는 성질을 이용하여 향후 흑색종과 같은 다양한 피부 질환 치료제 개발 및 미백화장품 핵심 물질 개발에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Glyceollin I has gained attention as a useful therapy for various dermatological diseases. However, the binding property of glyceollin I to the mammalian adenylyl cyclase (hereafter mAC), a critical target enzyme for the down-regulation of skin melanogenesis, has not been fully explored. To clarify the action mechanism between glyceollin I and mAC, we first investigated the molecular docking property of glyceollin I to mAC and compared with that of SQ22,536, a well-known mAC inhibitor, to mAC. Glyceollin I showed superiority by forming three hydrogen bonds with Asp 1018, Trp 1020, and Asn 1025, which exist in the catalytic site of mAC. However, SQ22,536 formed only two hydrogen bonds with Asp 1018 and Asn 1025. Secondly, we confirmed that glyceollin I effectively inhibits the formation of forskolin-induced cAMP and the phosphorylation of PKA from a cell-based assay. Long term treatment with glyceollin I had little effect on the cell viability. The findings of the present study also suggest that glyceollin I may be extended to be used as an effective inhibitor of hyperpigmentation.

          Plateletpheresis: the Process, Devices, and Indicators of Product Quality

          혈소판제제는 출혈질환이나 혈소판의 기능장애 치료를 위해 사용되고 있다. 혈소판성분채집술은 혈액성분채집기를 사용하여 혈소판 성분을 채집하는 방법으로, 성분채집혈소판의 질 평가에는 다양한 지표들이 이용되고 있다. 채집된 혈소판의 생산성은 채집효율(collection efficiency)과 채집률(collection rates)로 평가되고 보관된 혈소판의 질은 in vitro 상에서 시각적 외양, 대사활성도, 양, 혈소판 수, 백혈구 수, 미세입자(microparticles), 그리고 다양한 혈소판 활성 표지자들로 평가된다. 혈소판 활성 표지자들은 여러 연구분야에서도 이용되고 있다. 수혈된 후의 혈소판의 질은 교정증가치(corrected count increment)와 혈소판회복퍼센트(percentage platelet recovery)로 평가된다. 본 논문은 혈소판성분채집술의 채집과정, 사용되는 장비, 성분채집혈소판의 질, 전반적인 효율성, 그리고 질평가 지표들에 대한 리뷰(review)와 함께 다른 혈액성분채집기 간의 기능의 차이점을 비교하였고, 또한 혈소판성분채집술은 구연산염 항응고제에 의한 부작용을 일으킬 수는 있지만 전혈 헌혈시에 실신의 전구증상이나 실신을 일으킬 위험이 있는 헌혈자들에게는 더 안전한 방법임을 보여주고 있다. Platelet products are used to treat hemorrhagic or platelet dysfunction diseases. Plateletpheresis involves collecting the platelet components of blood using an apheresis blood-collection system. Various indicators are available for evaluating the qualities of the apheresis platelets. The productivity of platelet collection is evaluated through both the collection efficiency and collection rates. Platelet storage quality can be evaluated in vitro using several indicators, including visual appearance, metabolic activities, volume, platelet count, white blood cell count, microparticles, and various platelet activation markers. Platelet activation markers have been used as indicators of storage quality in various studies. Post-transfusion platelet quality can be evaluated based on the corrected count increment and the percentage of platelet recovery. Although various studies have investigated the aspects of plateletpheresis, no article has systemically presented assessments of the platelet products obtained from different plateletpheresis devices. The present study provides a review of plateletpheresis, including the specifics of the process, the types of devices employed, the platelet quality, the overall efficacy, and the evaluation indicator qualities. Furthermore, the differences in functionality among the different apheresis devices are discussed. Although adverse reactions to the citrate anti-coagulant have been reported, apheresis processing may provide a safer option for donors who are at a high risk for presyncopal or syncopal reactions related to whole blood collection.

          Partial penetration welding joint defines that groove welds without steel backing, welded from one side, and groove welds welded from both sides but without back gouging, that is, it has an unwelded portion at the root of the weld. Study of partial penetration weldment fracture behavior includes residual stress analysis, and fracture analysis. The J-integral loses its path independency in residual stress field. Therefore, it is necessary new J-integral,?, which is considered the effect of plastic deformation and thermal strain. In this study, theoretical formulation and program were developed for the evaluation of ?-integral at the crack tip of weldment. Evaluations of fracture behavior were performed for partial penetration multi-pass weldment of 25.4mm thick plate by ?-integral. From a point of fracture in partial penetration multi-pass welding, it seemed to be better to control root face smaller than 6.35mm.

          AL-Scan;을 이용한 술 전 안구생체계측과 백내장 수술 후 굴절력 예측의 정확성

          Purpose: To compare the axial lengths, anterior chamber depths, and keratometric measurements and to predict postoperative refractions of AL-Scan<sup>®, IOL master<sup>®, and ultrasound. Methods: A total of 40 eyes in 30 patients who received cataract surgery were included in the present study. The axial length, anterior chamber depth, and keratometry were measured by 2 types of partial coherence interferometry (AL-Scan<sup>®and IOL master<sup>®) and ultrasound. The SRK/T formula was used to calculate IOL power, and the predictive error which subtracts predictive refraction from postoperative refraction was compared among the ocular biometry devices. Results: Axial lengths were 23.08 ± 0.62 mm, 23.09 ± 0.62 mm, and 22.99 ± 0.62 mm measured by AL scan<sup>®, IOL master<sup>®, and ultrasound, respectively. Axial length measured by ultrasound was statistically significantly shorter than AL scan<sup>® and IOL master<sup>® (p < 0.001, p < 0.001, respectively). The anterior chamber depth and keratometry were 3.11 ± 0.06 mm and 44.82 ± 1.34 D measured by AL scan<sup>®, and 3.13 ± 0.06 mm and 44.85 ± 1.26 D measured by IOL master<sup>®, respectively. The differences of anterior chamber depth and keratometry between the 2 devices were not statistically significant (p = 0.226, p = 0.331, respectively). The mean absolute prediction errors were 0.44 ± 0.35 D, 0.40 ± 0.34 D, and 0.39 ± 0.30 D in AL-Scan<sup>®, IOL master<sup>® and ultrasound, respectively, and were not statistically significantly different (p = 0.843, p = 0.847, p = 1.000, respectively). Conclusions: The ocular biometric measurements and prediction of postoperative refraction using AL-Scan<sup>® were as accurate as IOL master<sup>® and ultrasound. In this study we analysed for residual stress and displacement distribution on partial penetration welding condition of thick plate metal. For one inch thick plate, theoretical residual stress and displacement analysis by finite element method using ABAQUS was carried out and compared with the experimental result using hole-drilling method. In results of the condition of partial penetration, it appeared that longitudinal stress at welding area was a little difference and transverse stress did not have any effect by partial penetration multi-pass welding. From a point of welding distortion in partial penetration multi-pass welding, it seemed to be better to control root face smaller than 1/4 inch.

          The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of sport sponsorship activities on brand image, brand awareness and purchase intention. This study set 424 spectators of customers who experienced sport sponsorship activities of food and beverage company as it's study on convenience sampling, and used 374 questionnaires excepting 50 inappropriate copies. This research carried out frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis using SPSS 18.0. To verify the hypothesis this study used confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model analysis and multi group analysis using AMOS 18.0. The results of the study are as followed: First, only communication activities and activities contributing to events among sport sponsorship activities had a significant positive influence on brand image and brand awareness. Second, Brand image and brand awareness had a significant positive influence on purchase intention. Third, partially moderating effect of the team identification among variables were found. The findings were suggested in practical and scientifical aspect of food and beverage business. The limits of the study and the recommendation of future studies were discussed.
