        간호학과 인증평가에 따른 간호교육의 질 향상 및 질 확보 노력에 대한 교수 인식

        This study investigated faculty perceptions of the improvement and effort for achievement of the quality of nursing education through accreditation in baccalaureate nursing programs in 2006. Survey data from 190 professors of 33 accredited nursing schools were statistically analyzed using SPSS ver. 19.0 software with descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA. Through accreditation, about two-thirds of subjects perceived that the quality of education had 'improved' and the purposes of the accreditation were moderately successfully achieved (score 3.50). They also perceived their schools made a strong attempt (score 4.24) to assure quality. The perception scores of efforts to assure the quality of education varied significantly according to the characteristics of the subjects, the existence of a university hospital, the type of college, and the year of school founding. There were significant differences between the level of improvement in education and the extent of effort to assure the quality of education. Accreditation contributed to improved quality of nursing education except for some issues which need more consideration. To maintain high quality, the accreditation of baccalaureate nursing programs should be performed with continuity and on a regular basis.

        간호교육에서의 전문직 간 교육에 대한 현황과 발전방향

        This study examined the perception and readiness of nursing educators regarding interprofessional education (IPE), and discussed the validity and application of IPE in nursing. From December 2016 to January 2017, 239 nursing professors and nurses completed a structured questionnaire consisting of general characteristics, the Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale, the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Survey (RIPLS), and an IPE action plan. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-test using the IBM SPSS ver. 23.0 program (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). The analysis revealed that 91.6% of the participants had not experienced IPE, and only 11.7% knew about IPE. However, approximately 80.0% answered that IPE is necessary. The results of this study showed that the score of the perceived need for cooperation was higher in nurses than it was in professors, while the score on competency and autonomy was higher in professors than it was in nurses. With reference to the scores on the RIPLS, those of professors were high on the sub-scales of teamwork and collaboration, professional identity, and roles and responsibility. The results revealed that participants considered the upper-grade undergraduate years as the ideal time for imparting IPE, and it was deemed suitable to include communication, simulation, and clinical practice in IPE. Doctors, pharmacists, and physiotherapists were thought to require cooperation for IPE the most. Despite the presence of several barriers to IPE, the participants thought that IPE can achieve learning outcomes such as interprofessional communication and cooperation, conflict resolution, and teamwork. It is necessary to cooperate with professionals in the complex clinical environment as professional areas are specialized and subdivided. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the application of IPE in undergraduate education and in on-the-job training.

        일 요양병원 노인간호의 특성

        Purpose: This qualitative study aimed to understand the uniqueness of a long-term care facility and to investigate its nursing practices for the elderly. Methods: Data were collected by close observations and the in-depth interviews using non-structured questionnaires with 7 nurses of a long-term care facility from October to December, 2012. The key question was "What are your experiences in the long-term care facility?". Data were analyzed by the qualitative content analysis. Results: There were structural and emotional circumstances, members, and relationships in the long-term care facility. The nursing traits of the long-term care facility could be characterized as the following four domains: ‘The field of life; The understanding of place", ‘Subject of care; The understanding of the elderly", ‘Provider of care; The roles of nurses who performed wholistic nursing", ‘Surroundings of nursing; Expand the scope of nursing". Conclusion: Based on these results, it is seen that a proper and realistic understanding about the long-term care facility is needed, which is expected to be used as a basis for developing the intervention measures that are appropriate to unique traits of the long-term care facility nursing.

        좋은 임상간호교육자의 특성에 관한 학습자 인식

        Purpose: The aim of this qualitative study was to understand and describe what nursing students experienced in the process of finding their job. Methods: Sixteen students from one baccalaureate nursing program participated in this study. In June 2019, two focus groups with a total 16 nursing students from one baccalaureate nursing program were interviewed using semi-structured research questions. Collected data were analyzed using conventional content analysis. Results: The following three major themes were found: creating an environment suitable for practice, applying methods to enable learning, find role models to be followed. Conclusion: On the basis of this result, we can understand nursing students’ perception of good characteristics of clinical nursing educators. In order to cultivate competent nurses through high-quality clinical education, we will propose a study design for clinical practice that considers characteristics of effective clinical nursing educators and verify its effectiveness in the future.

        간호대학생의 스트레스대처, 유머감각과 대학생활적응의 관계

        본 연구는 간호대학생의 스트레스대처, 유머감각, 대학생활적응 정도와 변수간 상관관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 2012년 6월 B시 일 대학교 간호학생 338명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집한 후 SPSS/WIN 21.0 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대상자의 스트레스대처는 평균 43.33점, 유머감각 72.18점, 대학생활적응 68.02점으로 중간이상의 수준이었다. 대학생활적응 점수는 성별, 학년, 가족구성, 가정형편, 대학생활 만족도, 교수와의 관계, 대학성적, 이성친구 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대학생활적응은 스트레스대처, 유머감각과 유의하나 약한 상관관계에 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 학생의 개별적 특성을 고려해 대학생활적응을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용이 이루어져야 하겠다. 또한 대학생활적응의 영향요인을 규명하는 후속연구가 필요하다. This study aimed to identify the correlation of stress-coping, humor sense, and adaptation to college of nursing students. Three hundred thirty eight subjects completed a structured questionnaire in June 2012. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The mean scores were as follows; stress-coping 43.33, humor sense 72.18, and adaptation to college 68.02. It meant beyond the intermediate level. Significant differences were found between adaptation to college scores and general characteristics such as gender, academic year, family type, economic status, campus life satisfaction, relation with faculties, grade, and the relationship with the opposite gender. There was significant but weak correlation of stress-coping, humor sense, and adaptation to college. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop individualized education programs considering students characteristics. Additionally, university adjustment related factors should be studied.

        간호학과 편입생의 첫 학기 대학생활 체험

        This study aims to understand and describe what transfer-students experienced in their first semester of the baccalaureate nursing program. The participants were ten juniors who enrolled in nursing school as transfer students. They were asked to record and describe whatever they wanted to tell the researcher about transferring into the nursing program. Their records included their feelings, thoughts, and so on. The data was collected from April to June, 2011 and was analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. In this study, six essential themes were extracted: ‘Re-engineering my life’, ‘adaptation to a new system’, ‘branded as transfer students’, ‘current chaos: mixing fluster and concern’, ‘tied to school’, and ‘answering for my decision’. Recently, the number of transfer students in nursing schools increased rapidly as nursing schools were expanding in size in response for the shortage of nurses at government level. However, issues related to the adaptations of transfer students were not discussed so far. On the basis of this result, we can understand the transferring experiences of nursing students and provide systematic and emotional support for them. Additionally, we can develop curriculum appropriate for them which in turn might lead to high-quality educated nurses. 학력주의에 따른 대학 간 이동 증가와 간호인력 수급 불균형 해소를 위한 간호학과 편입학 정원 확대로 편입생이 급증하는 가운데, 새로운 교육과정의 중간에 놓이게 되는 편입생의 대학생활상 위기 또한 이슈화되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 편입 첫 학기 대학생활의 경험에 대한 심층적 이해를 통해 교육 프로그램과 교육과정 개발에의 기초 자료를 제공함으로써 편입생의 위기 극복, 대학생활 적응 및 올바른 학업 성취에 기여하고자 한다. 2011년 4월부터 6월까지 B시의 일개 대학교 간호학과 편입생 10명을 대상으로 비구조화된 면담을 시행하였으며, Colaizzi(1978)의 현상학적 분석방법을 적용하여 편입 첫 학기 대학생활 경험의 의미를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 간호학과 편입생들은 첫 학기에 ‘방향을 전환함’, ‘새로운 체제로의 적응’, ‘편입생이라는 꼬리표를 담’, ‘혼돈 그 자체: 당황과 걱정’, ‘학교에 매임’, ‘내가 감당해야 함’ 등을 경험하고 있었다. 본 연구에서 확인된 유의미한 현상이나 개념을 중심으로 교수진의 효과적인 지도, 맞춤형 프로그램 및 교육과정의 개발을 통해 편입생이 편입 첫학기에 겪는 위기에 대처함으로써, 중도 탈락하지 않고 대학생활에 잘 적응하도록 하여 단기간 교육을 통한 양질의 인력 양성으로 간호인력 부족 해소에 기여해야 하겠다.

        간호대학생의 불면증, 수면의 질, 우울 및 일주기 리듬의 관계

        Purpose: This study examined the correlation of insomnia, sleep quality, depression, and circadian rhythm in nursing students. Methods: A total of 213 subjects completed a questionnaire consisting of their general characteristics, Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D), and Composite Scale of Morningness (CSM). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson"s correlation coefficient using the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: The subjects’ mean scores were ISI 7.18; PSQI 11.18; CES-D 16.00; and CSM 30.18. In insomnia, there were significant differences according to caffeine, perceived health status and major satisfaction. In sleep quality, there were significant differences according to perceived health status and major satisfaction. Significant differences in depression were observed according to gender, caffeine, subjective health status, major satisfaction, and circadian rhythm by drinking and exercise. A significant positive correlation was observed among ISI, PSQI, and CES-D. ISI and CES-D were negatively correlated. Conclusion: Tailored health care programs should be developed and applied to prevent and manage sleep-related and emotion-related problems in nursing students by considering the health status, major satisfaction, and gender.

        간호대학생의 재활병동 임상실습경험에 대한 연구

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand and to explain what nursing students experienced in a rehabilitation hospital. Method: The subjects of this study were 50 senior students of nursing at a university in S city. The data were retrieved through in depth interview and student’s report including their feelings and thoughts on their clinical experience. Collected information was analyzed through Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. Data collection was done from 12, March, 2001 to 22, May, 2001. Results: Nursing students experiences in the rehabilitation hospital were shown in the results of data analysis. It is shown that nursing students have experienced unexpected surprise, new recognition of rehabilitation, the sense of fulfillment and self-confidence, the feeling of burden, and regretful feeling during the clinical experience in the National Rehabilitation Center. Conclusion: We propose that the results of this study would be utilized as a reference for instruction of nursing students who participate in clinical experience. Additionally, it is thought that continuous attempts to develop the effective ways of instruction in clinical experience should be made in order to help nursing students to experience positive learning.
