휠체어를 사용하는 장애인은 주거 환경 내 일상생활에 있어 접근성의 미확보로 커다란 어려움을 겪는다. 다양한 스마트 기술이 주거환경에 적용된 스마트홈은 장애인의 주거환경을 편리하게 하는데 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 휠체어를 사용하는 장애인을 위한 스마트홈을 구축하고 그 스마트홈에 대해 사용성평가를 실시하였다. 휠체어 사용 장애인 3 명을 대상으로 스마트홈 사용 전후를 비교한 평가(사용성평가, 도구적 일상생활활동평가, 심층설문)를 실시한 결과 긍정적인 차이를 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 스마트홈 구축 시 휠체어 사용 장애인의 주거환경 구축에 고려해야 하는 요소들을 확인할 수 있었다. Wheelchair users found difficulties to live independently in their houses. The smart home implemented by smart technologies enables wheelchair users to live independently. In this study, the smart home was built, and the usability testing for t he s mart home was performed. Three participants on a wheelchair were enrolled in this study, and three evaluations (usability test, Korea instrumental activity of daily living, and in-depth interview) were assessed. Post-test showed positive outcomes than pre-test. Through this study, we found several necessary elements for wheelchair users on building a smart home.
척수 장애인을 위한 글쓰기 보조기구의 인간공학적 제품 설계 요소 분석

본 연구는 척수 장애인의 글쓰기를 도와줄 수 있는 글쓰기 보조기구 개발을 위해 이 기능이 필요한 척수장애인들의 신체적 특징을 고려한 제품을 설계하기 위한 요소들을 분석하고자 한다. 척수장애인들의 대부분 갑작스런 사고로 장애를 가진 20~30대 연령이 많은 비중을 차지하며 레저 활동이 활발해 짐에 따라 증가를 보이고 있는 추세이다. 20~30대는 사회생활을 필요로 하는 연령대이기 때문에 사회생활 중 반드시 자필의 글쓰기가 필요한 경우가 있다. 본 연구에서는 척수 장애인 관련 문헌조사를 통해 척수 장애인의 손기능에 대한 고찰과 글쓰기 보조도구 개발 시 고려해야 할 제품 설계 요소를 추출하였다. 추출된 제품 설계 요소와 제품 제작 시 고려해야 할 기타사항 및 요구 조사를 바탕으로 제품이 제작된다면 척수 장애인 좀 더 사용하기 편리한 제품을 만들 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
서비스디자인 방법론을 적용한 ‘노인·장애인을 위한 메이커스페이스(보조기기 열린제작실)’ 사례연구 -서비스 디자인 중점의 개소 행사 기획을 중심으로-

본 연구는 노인·장애인이 전문가와 함께 보조기기를 연구개발 할 수 있는 메이커스페이스인 ‘열린제작실(OpenLab)’의 개소행사 기획을 목적으로 하였다. 서비스디자인 방법론을 적용하여 장애인, 다른 개소 행사담당자, 행사운영자 등 관련 이해관계자의 요구사항 도출 및 컨텍스트를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 도출된 주요 이슈로는 COVID-19에 대응할 것, 노인·장애인을 고려한 유니버셜한 환경을 조성할 것, 메이커스페이스인 열린제작실의 운영방안 및 활용방안에 대해 제대로 안내할 것, 개소 행사를 원활히 운영할 것 등 4가지 사항이 도출되었고, 내부 연구진과의 인터뷰 분석을 통해 공감, 공유, 공존, 효율, 안전 등 핵심가치 5가지를 정의하였다. 도출된 주요이슈와 가치를 만족시키는 개소 행사를 진행하기 위해 내부연구진 및 메이커스페이스 행사 운영자와의 브레인스토밍 과정을 통해 5가지 서비스와 3가지 운영사항을 도출하였다. 5가지 서비스로는 ‘열린제작실은 OO다’ 이벤트, 뇌성마비 장애인의 열린제작실 장비투어 및 시연체험 공유, ‘포스트 코로나 시대를 위한 노인·장애인 보조기기 개발’ 해커톤 시상식 및 전시, 중앙보조기기센터 보조기기 전시/체험, 보조기기 확산을 위한 창업진흥원과의 MOU 체결 등이 도출되었고, 4가지 운영사항으로 청각장애인을 위한 보조기기 및 수어통역사 배치, 수/전동휠체어 사용자를 위한 공간확보, COVID-19에 대응하는 기념품 등을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 서비스디자인 방법론을 적용하여 관련 이해관계자의 욕구를 파악하고, 이를 충족시키면서도, COVID-19라는 특수한 상황에 대응하여 만족도 높은 개소식을 진행하고자 한 연구이며, 노인·장애인과 관련 이해 관계자가 함께 즐길 수 있는 개소식을 성료하였다고 판단된다. The purpose of this study was to plan the opening event of 'OpenLab', a makerspace where the elderly and the disabled can research and develop assistive devices with experts. By applying the service design methodology, the requirements of related stakeholders such as the disabled, event managers and event operators were derived and context was analyzed. The main issues drawn through this process were to respond to COVID-19, to create a universal environment that considers the elderly and the disabled, to properly introduce the operation plan and utilization plan of the OpenLab, which is a makerspace, and to facilitate opening events. The five core values such as empathy, sharing, coexistence, efficiency, and safety were defined through interview analysis with internal researchers. In order to conduct this event that satisfies the identified major issues and values, 5 services and 3 operational items were derived through a brainstorming process with internal researchers and makerspace event managers. Five services include 'OpenLab is OO' event, OpenLab tour and experience event by cerebral palsy handicapped people, hackathon ('Development of assistive devices for the elderly and the disabled for the post-corona era') awards ceremony and exhibition, Assistive technology devices exhibition/experience of Korea National Assistive Technology Center, MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) ceremony with Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development for the expansion of assistive technology devices was drawn. And as four operating matters, assistive technology device for the hearing impaired and arrangement of sign language interpreters, space for manual/power wheelchair users, and souvenirs corresponding to COVID-19 were derived. In this study we grasp the needs of related stakeholders by applying the service design methodology, and conduct a high-satisfaction opening ceremony in response to the special situation of COVID-19. It is judged that the opening ceremony that can be enjoyed together has been completed.

휠체어를 사용하는 장애인은 주거 환경에서 접근성이 부족하여 일상생활활동에 어려움을 겪는다. 다양한 스마트 기술을 이용한 스마트홈은 휠체어 사용 장애인의 일상생활활동에 있어 접근성을 높여줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 휠체어를 사용하는 장애인을 위해 스마트홈을 구축하였고, 구축된 스마트홈에 대한 사용성평가를 실시하였다. 사용성평가는 시나리오기반사용경험평가, 도구적 일상생활활동평가, 그리고 심층설문방법을 사용하였다. 지역사회 거주 휠체어 사용 장애인 3명을 대상으로 스마트홈 사용성평가를 실시한 결과, 기존 거주지에 비해 구축된 스마트홈의 사용성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 심층설문 결과, 스마트홈 내부의 부분적인 개선 요구사항 또한 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 스마트홈 구축 시 휠체어 사용 장애인의 주거환경 구축에 고려해야 하는 다양한 요소들을 확인할 수 있었다. Wheelchair users found difficulties in living independently in their houses due to the lack of accessibility. The state of the art smart home technology may enable wheelchair users to live independently. In this study, we built a smart home, and tested its usability with three community dwelling wheelchair users. Three evaluation methods such as scenario-based test, K-IADL(Korea instrumental activity of daily living) test, and in-depth interview were used. All three users responded positively for using the smart home. Through this study, we also found several necessary amendments in building smart homes for wheelchair users.
