      • 杜門洞 七十二賢과 松隱 具鴻의 節義精神

        송은 구홍은 고려 말 두문동 72현 중의 한 사람이다. '두문동 72현'이란 말은 공자의 제자 중에서 72인의 升堂弟子를 지칭하던 수와 관련을 지어 우리나라에서 형성된 독특한 용어로서, 성리학의 수용과 더불어 유교적인 不事二君 또는 守節不貳의 節義精神을 나타내는 용어로 사용되어지게 되었다. 구홍은 고려가 망하자 朴門壽, 成思齊 등과 더불어 不朝峴에 올라 "伯夷는 어떤 사람이며 나는 어떤 사람인가? (伯夷何人, 我何人)"라고 자신의 뜻을 말하고 두문동에 들어가 절의를 지키다 운명하였다. 구홍을 비롯한 고려의 節臣이 숨은 곳을 두문동이라 하고 그들을 두문동 72현이라고 부른 것은 고려의 멸망과 더불어 일찍이 지칭되었던 것으로 보인다. 그러나 이러한 호칭이 영조 이전까지의 공식적인 문헌인 實錄에는 전혀 나타나지 않는 것으로 보아 이들에 대하여 언급하는 것을 엄격히 금지하고 있었던 것으로 보인다. 그러므로 이들에 대한 논의는 구전으로 민간에서 통용되었던 것으로 여겨진다. 영조조에 이르러 두문동 72현에 대한 논의가 다시 제기 되었는데 영조는 두문동 72현의 유적에 碑石을 건립하고 致祭를 하는 등 그들의 절의정신을 높이 평가하고 후인의 귀감이 되게 하였다. 정조는 영조의 뜻을 이어 받아 表節祠를 건립하여 두문동의 諸賢을 봉안하고 亭祀를 지내게 하였다. 표절사는 고종 8년(1871)에 서원 철폐령에 의하여 毁撤이 되었는데 1935년에 유림에 의하여 개성에 杜門洞書院으로 재건되었다. 두문동 72현의 절의정신은 고려 말 성리학의 수용과 더불어 나타난 한국유학의 의리정신의 원류로서 이후 한국인의 出處觀의 형성에 크게 영향을 끼쳤다. Songeun(松隱) Koo Hong(具鴻) was one of the Doomundong 72 Sages(杜門洞 72賢) in the late years of Koryeo Dynasty(高麗). The term of Doomundong 72 Sages, which originated from what is called Confucius' Pupils, came to be used as one that meant fidelity(節義精神) with the acceptance of Neo-Confucianism. As Koryeo Dynasty perished, Koo Hong rejected to follow the new one, Joseon Dynasty, clarified his will along with other sages on the hill Boojo Hyeon(不朝峴), and then, living in Doomundong, died. It was early in Joseon Dynasty (朝鮮) that they called Doomundong the place where many sages hid who stuck to fidelity toward Koryeo Dynasty, and referred to them as Doomundong 72 Sages. However, given the fact that these terms nerver showed up in Kings' Journals(王朝實錄) until YoungJo(英祖), it can be assumed that there was a strict banning of mentioning them. During the ruling period of YoungJo the discussion about the Doomundong 72 Sages got started. Putting a great value on their fidelity toward the previous dynasty, he praised and made sacrifices to them. JeongJo(正祖), following the YoungJo's will, had Pyojeol-Sa(表節祠) built to the memory of them. Pyojeol-Sa was torn down in 1871 during the ruling period of KoJong(高宗), rebuilt in Kaeseong(開城) in 1935, and named Doomundong-Sewyon(杜門洞 書院). It is significant that the fidelity of the Doomundong 72 Sages, as the origin of Korean Confucian fidelity, has had a great effect on Korean political ideology(出處) ever since.

        In this study, the subsurface stress field beneath the roller by fluid film pressure working on the roller surface has been calculated by using the rectangular patch solution. Main purpose of this study in view of engineering is to prove the validity of the profiling roller presented by Koo et al. Koo et al. obtained the fluid film pressure by EHL analysis of earn-roller mechanism. To prove the advantage of this study, we compared Koo's profiling with the existing Dub-off profiling roller. To obtain the subsurface stress field created by normal force, namely, fluid film pressure, Love's solution is used.

        Two hevein-like peptides from the seed of Pharbitis nil, designated Pharbitis nil antimicrobial peptide 1 (Pn-AMP1) and Pn-AMP2, had been purified previously. Both exhibit potent in vitro antifungal activity against a broad spectrum of phytopathogenic fungi. We now report the isolation of two cDNA clones, designated pnAMP-h1 and pnAMP-h2, and the corresponding genomic clones encoding these protein suggests that the peptides are produced as a prepropeptide consisting of and N-terminal signal peptide, the mature protein and C-terminal domains. The transcripts of the two genes are accumulated seed-specifically, and the maximum transcripts are observed in the mid-to-late stage of seed development. Constitutive over-expression of the pnAMP-h2 cDNA in transgenic tobacco under the control of the cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter conferred enhanced resistance against the oomycete Phytophthora parasitica, the causal agent of black shank disease.         Eosinophils Regulate Type 2 Immune Responses Following Infection with the Nematode Trichinella spiralis

        Eosinophils are multifunctional leukocytes implicated in protection against helminth infections. Although eosinophils comprise between 1~5% of peripheral blood leukocytes, they primarily reside in the gastrointestinal tract under homeostatic conditions, and rapidly proliferate upon parasitic infection. Intestinal infection with Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis) induces eosinophilia when the parasite enters the larval stages and larvae finally migrate to the skeletal muscle. Eosinophils are known to mediate parasite death through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. In this study, we aimed to address the functional significance of eosinophils in the intestinal phase of T. spiralis infection by analysis of immune responses in the Peyer's patch (PP) of infected BALB/c and eosinophil-ablated ${\Delta}dblGATA$ mice. Trafficking of eosinophils to the PP was significantly increased, with upregulation of interleukin-5 at 14 days post infection. Eosinophil deficiency led to a significant augmentation of serum immunoglobulin (Ig) M and IgG1 antibody levels. In accordance with this, $IgG1^+$ B cells in the PP were substantially increased in ${\Delta}dblGATA$ mice compared to that in BALB/c mice. Transforming growth $factor-{\beta}$ expression in the PP of infected ${\Delta}dblGATA$ mice was significantly decreased compared to that in BALB/c mice, whereas the number of T. spiralis larvae in the diaphragm was increased. Taken together, these findings indicate that eosinophils contribute to the regulation of Th2 immune responses, and protect the host from T. spiralis attempting to establish larvae in the skeletal muscle.

        In this paper we study consumption-labor supply decision of an agent who prepares for retirement at a known time in the future. The agent is assumed to have a preference which is represented by a von Neumann-Morgenstern utility function in which the felicity function has constant relative risk aversion over the composite of consumption and leisure. The composite is obtained by a Cobb-Douglas function. A general problem has been studied by Bodie, Detemple, Otruba, and Walter (2004). We contribute to the literature by deriving Slutsky equations and conduct comparative statics. In particular, we show that the wealth e ect can exhibit interesting property depending upon the time until retirement, as the interest rate increases.

        The Effects of Interferential Current and Kaltenborn-Evjenth Orthopedic Manual Therapy on Functional Constipation

        2 week study was conducted to investigate the effects of Interferential Current(IC) and Kaltenborn-Evjenth Orthopedic Manual Therapy(KEOMT) on functional constipation. Interventions were applied to spinal segments between T9-L2 which provides innerva˗ tions to the gastrointestinal tract. Subjects(n=24) were randomly allo˗ cated to two treatment groups: the IC group or the KEOMT group. Results for the IC therapy demonstrated significant decrease with the colonic transit time(CTT) as well as scores on the constipation assessment scale(CAS). The frequency of defecations per week had increased significantly(p<0.05). The KEOMT displayed decreased CTT in the left colon region. The scores on the CAS were reduced and frequency of defecations per week had increased significantly (p<0.05). This study not only showed that both modes of therapy improved symptoms of constipation, but also optimized gastrointesti˗ nal content movement, eventuating in a more normalized CTT. In conclusion, both the IC therapy and the Kaltenborn-Evjenth Orthopedic Manual Therapy have shown to be effective interventions for improving functional constipation.

        우리는 이 소고에서 금융혁신의 기원에 대하여 살펴보고 금융공학이 혁신에 대한수요를 대처하는 방법론으로서 적절하였는가에 대한 평가를 한다. 그리고 미래 금융공학이 나갈 방향에 대하여 우리의 전망을 제시하는데, 특히 연금과 생명보험, 그리고 자산운용에 강조점을 둔다. In this note we provide a short overview of the origins of financial innovations and give an evaluation of the practice of financial engineering to meet the demand for financial innovations. We also present our prospect of the future direction for financial engineering, emphasizing particularly two areas of application: life insurance and pension, and asset management.

        A Comparison of Forecasting and Actual Data Approaches to Tourist Arrival in Korea: US, UK and Japan

        본 연구는 2001(Koo)의 2006년 수요예측결과와 실재 방한관광객 수를 비교한다. 2001년 방한 관광객 3개국 (영국, 미국, 일본)을 대상으로 2006년 수요예측하였다. 시계열자료는 1972년부터 1999년까지 관광객 수, GDP, CPI를 독립변수로 활용하였다. 한국방문 3객국의 수요예측결과 영국 67,400명, 미국 416,042명, 일본 1,785,910명으로 나타났으며 실재 방문객 수는 영국 75,397명, 미국 555,705명, 일본 2,338,921명으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 실재 방문객 수가 11.86%, 33.57%, 30.97%의 차이가 나타난다. 일반적으로 수요예측을 토대로 외국인 관광객에게 효율적으로 관광시설을 공급함과 동시에 서비스를 제공하기 위한 관광정책을 수립하는데 활용되고 있지만 본 연구 결과에서와 같이 예측결과와 실재가 일관되지 못하므로 정확하기 위해서는 더욱 다양한 계량기법과 변수들의 다양화하여 대체하는 작업이 필요함을 시사한다.
