This study was performed to demonstrate the presence of large granular lymphocyte(LGL) in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats and morphologically observe NK cell and also establish the method of isolation of natural killer cell in SD rats. By percoll discontinuous density gradients centrifugation, highly enriched LGL population were shown to fraction 2(border line between 44.2% and 50.8%). LGL were shown to bind selectively to YAC1 mouse lymphoma cell. This fraction expressed very high NK cell cytolysis. Therefore, we thought that LGL have NK activity in SD rats. The Morphology of rat LGL is very similar to that of human LGL. These cells have an eccentric kidney-shaped nucleus. Their most distinctive feature was their cytoplasmic azurophilic granules. Another distinguishing feature of rat LGL was their high cytoplasmic : nuclear ratio. It was concluded that LGL played a role part in mediating natural killer activity in this species.
랫드와 비글에서 GC-100X 세정제의 독성에 대한 연구

Because cleaning products are part of our everyday lives, it is essential that they should not present significant risks to health. However, many petrochemicals in most soaps and detergents can be absorbed through the scalp and skin and, over time, accumulate in the organs and tissues. This accumulation may result in brain, nerve, and liver damage. Therefore, it is interested in developing non-harmful detergent. According to Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, GC-100X may be non-harmful and non-corrosive alkaline ionic water (pH 12). It is composed of hydroxyl radicals and supplemented with xylitol. To evaluate influence of GC-100X on rats and beagles, GC-100X was diluted with distilled water (25%, 50%, and 100% solution respectively). Each of diluted GC-100X was daily treated per oral. In body weight analysis, urinary analysis, ophthalmological test and autopsy, we did not find any significance, but in serum biochemical analysis and hematological analysis, we found some significances in middle dose group compared with control group. These significances in serum biochemical analysis and hematological analysis may be not induced by GC-100X, because it was not found to be significant from control group in histopathological examination. Thus, it is concluded that NOEL(No Observed Effect Level) of GC-100X may be higher than all treatment doses used in this study, and GC-100X may be a non-toxic detergent.

cis-Malonato[(4R,5R)-4,5-bis(aminomethyl)-2-isopropyl-1,3-dioxolane]platinum(II)(SKI 2053R), an antitumor platinum complex, was selected for clinical evaluation on the basis of its experimental antitumor and toxicologic profiles in preclinical studies. These studies were performed to obtain information on its toxic signs, orgnas which are mainly affected, and to estimate its lethality in mice and rats given SKI 2053R through two routes of administration. In male and female rats given a single intragastrical dose of SKI 2053R, we estimated that $LD_{50}$ values were over 3.00g/kg, respectively. In male and female mice given a signle intragastrical dose of SKI 2053R, we estimated that $LD_{50}$ values were 2.44g/kg and 1.59g/kg, respectively, In a single intraperitoneal dose of SKI 2053R, we determined that $LD_{50}$ values of male and female rats were 227mg/kg and 182mg/kg, and those of male and female mice were 198mg/kg and 207mg/kg, respectively. In gross and histopathological examinations on dead animals, we found that kidney and liver were mainly affected.

이 논문은 우울증이 예술창조의 에너지로 작용하는 원리와 창조적 예술행위가 우울증에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰을 통해 우울증 치료를 위한 예술치료의 학문적 근거 중 하나를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우울증은 일반인들에 비해 예술가들에게서 상대적으로 높은 비율로 나타나는 질환이다. 예술가들의 우울이 빚어낸 부정적 감정의 내향화는 예술창조를 자극하는 에너지로 작용한다. 그리고 창조적 예술행위는 두 가지 층위에서의 만족을 가져다 준다. 하나는 예술적 성취를 통한 외적 보상이며 또 다른 하나는 개인성을 찾는 과정에서 경험하게 되는 자아 되찾기를 통한 내적 보상이다. 여기서 보상이라고 하는 것은 상처의 치유이며 잃어버린 자존감의 회복으로 창조적 예술행위가 우울증에 치료적일 수 있다는 점을 밝힐 수 있는 구체적인 현상이다. 우울증 치료에 있어 예술치료는, 심리치료와 의료적 치료에서 간과한 몸의 능동적이고 자발적인 개입을 통해 정신과 신체를 분리하지 않고 진행되는 치료행위이다. 그리고 예술치료의 핵심 기전인 표현은 몸, 마음, 그리고 정신의 개입 수준에 따라 몸이 지배하는 운동의 단계, 지각과 구성작용에 의한 감정의 환기 단계, 몸과 마음 그리고 정신을 통합 하는 예술창조의 단계로 구분할 수 있다. 예술치료에서 중요한 단계는 예술창조의 단계로 치료의 궁극적인 목적이자 완성이 이루어지는 이 단계는 아름답게 표현하고자 하는 의지, 미적 체험, 창조적 자기실현이 이루어지는 단계이다. The purpose of this study is to establish the theoretical foundation of arts therapy for the treatment of depression by contemplating how creative arts affect depression. Creative artists suffer from significantly higher rate of depression. Internalized negative emotions of depressive artists engender artistic creativity and creative arts work brings two levels of satisfaction to artists. One is the external reward which is successful achievement experience through arts, and the other one is the internal reward which helps restore artists" own identity that had been lost in reality by showing their self -assertion in their work. Getting rewards from creative arts work means that artistic behavior for depression can be therapeutic because rewards heals wounds and restores self-esteem. For the treatment of depression active and spontaneous intervention of our body had been overlooked in psychotherapy and medical treatment. In arts therapy both body and mind are involved in the process of therapy. The core therapeutic mechanism of arts therapy is expression. The expression in arts therapy can be divided into three levels depending on how body, mind and will are involved in therapy. The first level is controlled by motor behavior. The second is emotional-arousal level that is perceived and constructed in mind. The last is the time for integrating body, mind and will for creative art. Will for aesthetic expression, aesthetic experience and creative self-actualization is the ultimate goal as well as completion of arts therapy.
H Menthol (Nicotine Free-Tobacco Free) Herbal Cigarette의 흡입독성시험

Nowadays a huge variety of products that aim to assist to quit smoking or reduce addictive symptoms are developed and manufactured with safety evaluation, but the safety of the most recent products of interest which do not contain tobacco and nicotine, and shape cigarettes is not evaluated and guaranteed relatively. This study was carried out to evaluate the single and repeated dose inhalation toxicity and genotoxicity of H menthol (Nicotine free-tobacco free) herbal cigarettes provided by Cigastop Ltd. in ICR mice. In this study, doses which we determined to expose to mice were 40 cigarettes for 6 hours a day to mice in single dose and 20 (high dose), 10 (middle dose) and 5 cigarettes (low dose) a day for 28 days in repeated dose inhalation toxicity, in vivo chromosome aberration test and micronucleus test. The particulate substances from H menthol herbal cigarettes also were gathered and used in the Salmonella typhimurium/microsome assay (Salmonella test; Ames<br/> test). We could find neither significant changes between control and treatment groups nor dose-response effects of test material at all except serum Ca level of female middle dose treatment group in repeated dose inhalation toxicity test. In conclusion, H menthol herbal cigarettes, when applied clinically intended dose we used, might not show any toxic and/or mutagenic effect.

Neutropenia is a major dose-limiting side effect of cancer chemotherapy. The therapeutic effect of HM 10411 was examined on neutropenia caused by anticancer agents. Neutropenia in normal ICR mice was induced by a single combined intraperitoneal injection of 130 mg/kg of cyclophosphamide (CPA), 4.5 mg/kg of doxorubicin (DXR), and 1mg/kg of vincristine (VCR) on day 0. Neutropenia in tumor-bearing mice was made by a single intraperitoneal injection of 200 mg/kg oj cyclophosphamide (CPA) into BALB/c mice bearing Colon 26 adenocarcinoma at 7 day after tumor implantation. HM 10411 or filgrastim (100 ㎍/kg/day) was subcutaneously administered for 5 consecutive days starting 1 day after injection of anticancer agents in order to stimulate neutrophil production. Injection of HM 10411 accelerated the recovery from these anticancer drug-induced neutropenia. In normal and tumor-bearing mice, neutrophil production efficacy of HM 10411 was similar than that of filgrastim. These results suggest that HM 10411 could be useful in the clinical treatment for neutropenia induced by anticancer agents.
