      • 純알루미늄의 二次元切削 機構에 관한 硏究

        The present study was undertaken to investigate the otheogonal cutting mechanism of pure aluminum with sintered carbide tools, such as the cutting resistance, shear angle and work, the formation of chip and the instantaneous aspect for cutting process. The results obtained are as follows: 1. In case of negative tool rake angle, the decrease rate of cutting resistance was progressed till high speed cutting. 2. When the cutting depth is small, the shear angle of cutting part depends on the influence of size effect. 3. The formation of chip is classified into shear type, vertical compression type, horizontal compression type and flow type. 4. The measurement of the built-up edge was able to obtain decreased by the geometric expression of the instantaneous aspect for cutting process.

      • 고속도강공구의 절삭온도 예측과 플랭크마모에 관한 연구

        Temperature distribution on the flank face in orthogonal turning with cutting tool of high speed steel is studied by using a finite element method and experiments. Experiments are carried out to verify the validity of the temperature measurement by using a thermoelectric couple junction imbedded in a cutting tool. Good agreement is obtained between the analytical results and the experimental ones for the temperature distributions on flank face of cutting tool Flank wear were observed by the tool microscope. The analytical results show that the temperature on the top flank face of a tool is higher because of the difference of the friction velocity on each face of the tool.

      • 오스테나이트系 스테인레스鋼 (STS304)의 切削性에 관한 硏究

        This study was undertaken to investigate the machinability of the austenite stainless steel(STS304) with sintered carbide tool(M40). The orthogonal cutting test was carried out under various conditions such as cutting speed, cutting depth and tool rake angle, etc. On machining STS304 steel, there is the critical cutting speed which is the saw-toothed chip according to variation of rake angle and cutting depth and which it has moved lower cutting range as the cutting speed increases. The pitch of shear zones P as well as the sliding distance D decreases with the increasing of rake angle and with the decreasing of cutting speed. The saw-toothed chip is formed at the shear strain above 1.6 to 3 in case of 0.1㎜ cutting depth and above 1.0 to 2.2 in case of 0.2㎜ cutting depth.

      • 알루미늄 切削에서 生成되는 構成刃先의 擧動

        This paper has been carried out ot clarify the behavior of the BUE experimented Aluminium with using tungsten caribide tools. The results obtained are as follow : There was the block that varied suddenly at the initial cutting force. From the point of cutting distance 150㎜ Happened the BUE and the cutting force was the normal state. As share angle is increased, compression coefficient of the chip are increased. Relation between the friction coefficient of chip side and tool rake side can make the modelization studying the BUE size. As cutting speed is increased, chip thickness is decreased.

      • 조절압연용 작업롤의 방전조도가공 특성에 과한 연구

        The results were obtained with changes according to the surface roughness of work roll and method to make the peak count on the roll in the temper rolling, and factors to affect the work roll surface in actual roiling machine (ie. Temper mill). Conclusions are as follows. 1. E.D.T(Electro-discharge texturing) roll provide more uniform roughness distribution than the shot blasted roll, and it's life time is two times longer than that of shot blasted because it has more sine wave roughness. 2. The higher the peak count of surface roughness, the more time is necessary to work roll texture in shot blasting method, surface roughness is relating to the grit size, impeller speed and hardness of roll material, But it can not control the peak count. 3. In shot blast texturing, Surface roughness of temper rolled strip which is transferred surface roughness of work roll is more than that of E.D.T roll. 4. E.D.T roll has more uniform than the shot blasted roll and has more peak count than that of shot blasted roll. The surface of painted strip to image clarity is superior to that of shot blasted roll because E.D.T roll has more peak count and smooth surface.

      • 순도를 달리한 알루미나 세라믹스의 마멸과정 및 이의 기구에 관한 연구

        The present study was undertaken to investigate the dry wear process and wear mechanism of the alumina ceramics in the purity variation which are used for the mechanical seal, roll, liner and dies. The wear test was carried out under different experimental condition using the wear testing device and in which the annular surface rubbed on dry sliding condition various sliding speed, contact pressure and sliding distance. In case of alumina purity 95%, there was speed range which wear loss increased rapidly owing to enlargement of heat impact force and temperature rise of wear surface. According as the alumina purity increased, wear loss decreased but alumina purity 85% with much void and defect had the most wear loss than any other alumina purity. The friction coefficient of sliding initial stage of wear curves has a large value but according to increase of sliding distance, it decreased owing to drop of the shear strength of wear surfaces.

      • 摩擦係數에 미치는 摩擦面 表層軟化의 影響에 관한 硏究 : 高分子 材料의 경우 Friction and Wear Characteristics of Thermoplastic Polymers

        For the study, thermoplastic rigid polyvinyl chloride, which has been widely used for the parts of machine, has been applied as high polymetric materials and has been investigated into relationship between circumferential surface and steel sphere in order to clear the characteristics of the softened surface layer with frictional velocity, contact load and feed. The results obtained are as follows. 1. In constant frictional velocity, as the contact load was increased by degree the coefficients of friction was slowly decreased and it has inclination of increasing by softness on the surface layer according as the contact load was increased. 2. In constant contact load, as the frictional velocity was increased by 63m/min the coefficients of friction was slowly decreased, and in more than, the coefficients of friction was rapidly decreased by a lubricating effect of the frictional surface layer. 3. The fusional trace on the harden polyvinyl chloride was appeared by the frictional force with it according as the frictional velocity and the contact load were become high, especially appeared the deep ones with softening on the frictional surface. 4. Under condition of feeding, the coefficients of friction of a new surface was high in higher than 503m/min of the frictional velocity, but low in lower than the value comparing with repeated friction.

        In small feed high speed turning, steel chips do not break by chip breaker. New tool vibration device is developed on which tool vibration some angles periodically and using it breaking of chips is successful which is not able to be broken by usual chip breaker. when a tool vibration periodically, true feed and tool change and also flow direction of chip changes, and so, bending stress of chips goes beyond the breaking stress by bending moment caused by changing of chip flow. This is the reason why chip are broken. In this paper, mechanism of tool vibration device, analysis of periodic vibration motion experiments, flank wear, crater, and mechanism of chip breaking are discusse.

        In this paper, the results of tests about practicability of the carbide tools having various tool angles on the light cutting are described. And the conclusion is as follows: 1. In turning the Aluminium, the border line between normal and abnormal regions can be obtained in the range of ordinary cutting conditions. 2. The characteristics of the tool system have a large effect on the dynaimc component of cutting forces. 3. Chip form has a wide adaptability to meet the change of external and internal forces sensitively.
