      • 현산문화제의 문화적 접근고찰

        양언석(Yang On-seok) 아시아강원민속학회 2012 아시아강원민속 Vol.26 No.-

        현산문화제는 양양의 대표적인 향토축제이다. 하지만 양양의 역사와 문화를 함축하는 축제명을 부여해야 한다. 현산이라는 축제명은 양양의 역사성와 전통성을 약화시킨다. 문화적 전통과 지역을 대표할만한 특성을 부각시켜야 한다. 오랜 역사와 담론을 갖고 있지만 양양의 문화에는 이야기가 없다. 미래는 이야기의 시대로, 이야기가 산업의 중심으로 자리하고 있다. 한 줄기의 감성적이고, 의미 있는 이야기가 사람의 마음을 움직이는 거대한 힘으로 현산문화제를 이야기가 있는 축제로 강화해야 한다. 신으로 모시는 성황신의 정체와 담론부터 의미를 부여하고, 동해신묘의 위상을 정립해야 한다. 예부터 불교의 성지로 많은 고승과 화랑들의 순례지였고, 풍광이 아름다워 시인묵객들의 담론이 전해오고 있다. 조신과 범일선사의 담론, 의상과 원효의 담론, 도의선사와 일연선사의 담론, 영혈사와 낙산사의 담론, 김시습의 허균의 담론 등 너무나 많은 일화들이 전해오고 있지만 이야기를 부여하여 하지 못하고 있다. 양양에는 풍부하고 다양한 이야기가 전해 오고 있다. 이 담론은 생활 속에서 애정을 갖게 되고 상상력은 미래사회의 원동력이 된다. 축제를 통해 자부심을 가질 수 있도록 해야 한다. The Hyeon-San cultural festival is a regional festival in Yang-Yang. However, the official of Yang-Yang festival should have connotations of Yang-Yang"s history and culture. In this aspect, the name of Hyeon-San might dilute the quality of historicity and traditionality of Yang-Yang, which does not include the historical story on Yang-Yang"s culture even if it has a long history and spoken discourse. The official name of festival should give prominence to the typical of Yang-Yang"s traditional culture. Recently, the story is becoming an industrial hub. Therefore, the Hyeon-San festival has to be touchable festival with meaningful story. First, the Seonghwangshin enshrining a spirit tablet is needed to be identified and a new meaning is also imparted to the relative stories. In addition, the status of Donghaeshinmyo (Tomb) has to be reestablished. From ancient times, this was a scared place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, high priests, and Hwarangdo. These stories date back to ancient times, which has inherited from many writers and artists because of its beautiful scenery, including the stories of Choshin and Beomil, Eyisang and Wonhyo, Doeyisunsa and Ilyeonsunsa, Youngheolsa and Maksansa, Kim Siseub and Hurgeun. There are abundant and various stories in Yang-Yang. Those can be a driving force of our community. Therefore, the festival should serve as a momentum for having the regional pride.

      • 양양의 3.1만세 운동사 고찰 - 유림을 중심으로 -

        양양은 대표적인 유림(儒林) 고을로, 3.1만세운동의 성지(聖地)이다. 만세운동의 성지가 된 것은 오랜 역사와 문화에서 찾아 볼 수 있다. 역사적으로 고찰해 보면, 양양은 삼국시대 화랑들의 중심수련장이었고, 불교의 성지로 一心을 통해 역경을 극복하였던 공동체 의식에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 양양 만세운동은 우리나라 어느 지역보다도 그 규모가 크고 격렬하였고, 3.1만세운동의 정신을 보여준 진수였다. 종교와 신구세력의 이해와 관계 없이 군민이 하나 되어 새로운 역사를 만들었던 만세운동은 민족의 자긍심과 양양인의 정신이다. Yang-yang was a typical Confucian society, known as a sacred place of The March 1 Independence Movement, which can be found in history and culture. In a historical aspect, Yang-yang was a training center of the code of Silla Hwarangdo during the epoch of the three Kingdoms and a sacred place of Buddhism, one of whose philosophy is il-sim(一心), which encourages the sense of community, serving for overcoming hardship in the country. These kinds of cultural spirit affected Korean Independence Movement. The Independence Movement in Yang-yang was big and intense, showing the essence of The March 1 Independence Movement in Yang-yang. Without any clash between religion, old and new generations, that the united residents participated in The March 1 Independence Movement showed national pride and became the cornerstone of Yang-yang’s spirit.

      • Calabi-Yau Manifolds, Hermitian Yang-Mills Instantons, and Mirror Symmetry

        <P>We address the issue of why Calabi-Yau manifolds exist with a mirror pair. We observe that the irreducible spinor representation of the Lorentz group Spin(6) requires us to consider the vector spaces of two forms and four forms on an equal footing. The doubling of the two-form vector space due to the Hodge duality doubles the variety of six-dimensional spin manifolds. We explore how the doubling is related to the mirror symmetry of Calabi-Yau manifolds. Via the gauge theory formulation of six-dimensional Riemannian manifolds, we show that the curvature tensor of a Calabi-Yau manifold satisfies the Hermitian Yang-Mills equations on the Calabi-Yau manifold. Therefore, the mirror symmetry of Calabi-Yau manifolds can be recast as the mirror pair of Hermitian Yang-Mills instantons. We discuss the mirror symmetry from the gauge theory perspective.</P>

        Overexpression of Zoysia ZjCIGR1 gene confers cold stress resistance to zoysiagrass

        Zoysia japonica Steud. is a warm-season lawn grass popular in Korea and elsewhere. They are cultivated in many places such as river banks, roadside, and play grounds. However, there still is a disadvantage of frequent mowing, and the grass grows poorly under the chilly conditions. To develop a grass variety that circumvents these drawbacks, we cloned the chitininducible gibberellins-responsive1 gene (CIGR1) from zoysiagrass. The full length of the ZjCIGR1 (Zj; Zoysia japonica Steud.) gene was obtained by 5′/3′ RACE PCR and the phylogenetic tree showed that it belonged to the CIGR1-subgroup in the PAT1-group of GRAS protein family. Expression of the ZjCIGR1 in wild-type plants was confirmed in roots, meristems, leaves, and flowers, especially high in the flowers. The transgenic zoysiagrass was confirmed by PCR using gene-specific primers, phosphinothricin-acetyl-transferase (PAT) strip test, and Southern blot analysis. ZjCIGR1-overexpressing plants acquired tolerance to cold stress displaying morphological phenotypes characteristic of stress resistance. In addition, in the transformants, expression of the ZjCIGR1 as well as cold-regulated (COR) gene was increased compared to the wild-type plants under cold stress condition. These results suggest that ZjCIGR1 gene is an important candidate for regulating cold stress resistance.

        Long-term Stability after Reduction of Mandible Fracture by Keyhole Plate: Evaluation at the Time of Plate Removal

        Background: Various types of miniplates have been developed and used for the reduction of facial bone fractures. We introduced Yang's Keyhole (YK) plate, and reported on its short-term stability. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the long-term stability of the YK plate, as a follow-up study, by examining the patients who had used the YK plate among the patients with the reduction of mandible fractures and who visited for plate removal. Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 16 patients who underwent mandibular fracture fixation using a YK plate (group I) and 17 patients who underwent mandibular fracture fixation using a conventional plate (group II). Assessment was then made on malunion, occlusal stability, discomfort during the application, and clinical symptoms. Results: From January 2015 to December 2017, a total of 36 patients underwent mandibular fracture surgery using a YK plate. A total of 16 patients received plate removal. Among them, 15 were male and 1 female. The average age was 26 years. The applied surgical sites were the 12 on mandibular angle, 4 on mandibular symphysis, and 2 on subcondyle. The application period of YK plate was an average of 335 days. During the same period, 45 people underwent surgery on the conventional plate. A total of 17 patients received plate removal. Among them, 15 were male and 2 females. The average age was 36 years. The applied surgical sites were the 8 on mandibular angle, 4 on mandibular symphysis, and 2 on subcondyle. The application period of the conventional plate was an average of 349 days. No malocclusion occurred at the time of removal, and occlusion was stable. No patient complained of joint disease or discomfort. Conclusion: The YK plate system, in which the screw was first inserted and the plate was applied, for clinical convenience did not cause any particular problem and no significant difference from the conventional plate.

      • MgCl₂溶液內에서 STS 304 HP Stainless Steel 熔接部의 破壞擧動에 對한 硏究

        This paper is based on an experiment analysing the stress corrosion cracking behaviour of welding specimens compared to that of non-welding specimens of STS 304 HP stainless steel in corrosion solution. As a corrosion condition, stainless steel has been known to be the most fragile in a solution of 42% MgCl₂heated to the boiling point, therefore the experiment was carried out in this condition. The experiment was carried out with argon gas TIG welding specimens and non-welding ones made of stainless steel plates, thickness 2mm, by tensile force. At this time, the tensile force was taken to be the value of the yield strength of the tensile test specimens divided by the safety factor of 3.0 to 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0. In this paper, the relations between Time of Initial Crack, Time of Failure, Time of Final Fracture and Crack Propagation Length were investigated and then plotted. Furthermore, the relations between Stress Intensity Factor K proposed by Irwin and the Time of Initial Crack, the Time of Failure, the Time of Final Fracture were calculated and plotted. At the last, all the relations plotted were expressed to normal equations by computer, and the equations were used to analyse the data obtained in the experiment. The conclusions obtained in this study are as follows: 1. Welding materials, compared with non-welding ones, as the Time of Initial Crack, the Time of Failure, and the Time of Final Fracture were generally very fast, appeared to be a phenomenon of unstable brittleness fracture. 2. Non-welding materials, compared with welding ones, as the safety factor was larger or the working stress was smaller, appeared to be a phenomenon that the longer had had greater durability. Therefor, welding materials must be considered enough to be used in heate affected and stress corrosion atmosphere. 3.
