      • Fenofibrate Increases Radiosensitivity in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma via Inducing G2/M Arrest and Apoptosis

        Radiation therapy is an important treatment for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, how to promote radiation sensitivity in HNSCC remains a challenge. This study aimed to investigate the radiosensitizing effects of fenofibrate on HNSCC and explore the underlying mechanisms. HNSCC cell lines CNE-2 and KB were subjected to ionizing radiation (IR), in the presence or absence of fenofibrate treatment. Cell growth and survival, apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated. In addition, CNE-2 cells were xenografted into nude mice and subjected to IR and/or fenofibrate treatment. The expression of cyclinB and CDK1 was detected by Western blotting. Our results showed that fenofibrate efficiently radiosensitized HNSCC cells and xenografts in mice, and induced apoptosis and G2/M arrest via reducing the activity of the CDK1/cyclinB1 kinase complex. These data suggest that fenofibrate could be a promising radiosensitizer for HNSCC radiotherapy.

      • Crystal facet engineering induced anisotropic transport of charge carriers in a perovskite

        <P>Precise control of crystal orientations and macroscopic morphology of a perovskite crystal is crucial for various optoelectronic applications relying on charge carrier transport tuning along exposed crystal facets. Here, taking methylammonium lead bromide (CH3NH3PbBr3) as an example, and employing a novel crystal facet engineering method, we successfully construct two kinds of perovskite crystals with exposed {001} and {110} facets. We find that the free carriers’ photoluminescence lifetime on the {001} facets can be 3 times longer than that on {110} facets. The related mechanisms are investigated <I>via</I> fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy and <I>in situ</I> transmission electron microscopy. These indicate that the different trap state density of exposed facets and crystal structure changing of CH3NH3PbBr3 under light and electron beam irradiation lead to the differences in carrier transport along different facets. By distinguishing the charge carrier transport on different CH3NH3PbBr3 exposed facets, micro-photodetectors have been constructed. A device fabricated with the {001} exposed facets exhibited two orders of magnitude higher photocurrent and half as much dark current as a {110} facet-based device. Thus, the crystal facet engineering of perovskites can be widely adopted for understanding physical/chemical properties of perovskite crystals and provides great potential for novel perovskite optoelectronic device applications.</P>

      • Dynamic Analysis of Time Series Data Based on State Space Model

        The state space model is effective on analyzing non-stationary time series data, especially in adapting better to the dynamic variation analysis of the time series data and forecasting demand,by replacing fixed parameters with the variable ones.This article elaborates the constructing process of state space model by the measurement equation and state equation. This article also selects M0 money supply, M1 money supply, M2 money supply as the characterize variables of monetary policy, selects the national housing climate Index as characterize variables of real estate development,status regression model with stronger dynamic analysis capabilities as empirical analysis tool, with 2005 to 2012 monthly data of relevant variables as empirical analysis object, carry out the empirical study of relationship between the development of China's real estate industry and the amount of the three currencies. The empirical results show that the amount of three currencies elastic influence for real estate development are positive, M2 money supply impact of greater intensity. Among, M0 money supply influence gradually weakened, M1 and M2 money supply influence gradually increased.

      • Research on Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation Algorithm for Single-phase Voltage Source Rectifier

        Single phase voltage source converter (VSC) is an important power electronic converter (PEC), including single-phase voltage source inverter (VSI), single-phase voltage source rectifier (VSR), single-phase active power filter (APF) and single-phase grid-connection inverter (GCI). As the fundamental part of large scale PECs, single-phase VSC has a wide range of applications. In the paper, as first, on the basis of the concept of the discontinuous pulse-width modulation (DPWM) for three-phase VSC, a new DPWM of single-phase VSR is presented by means of zero-sequence component injection. Then, the transformation from stationary frame (abc) to rotating frame (dq) is designed after reconstructing the other orthogonal current by means of one order all-pass filter. Finally, the presented DPWM based single-phase VSR is established analyzed and simulated by means of MATLAB/SIMULINK. In addition, the DPWMs presented by D. Grahame Holmes and Thomas Lipo are discussed and simulated in brief. Obviously, the presented DPWM can also be used for single-phase VSI, GCI and APF. The simulation results show the validation of the above modulation algorithm, and the DPWM based single-phase VSR has reduced power loss and increased efficiency.

        Mitochondrial citrate accumulation drives alveolar epithelial cell necroptosis in lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury

        Necroptosis is the major cause of death in alveolar epithelial cells (AECs) during acute lung injury (ALI). Here, we report a previously unrecognized mechanism for necroptosis. We found an accumulation of mitochondrial citrate (citratemt) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated AECs because of the downregulation of Idh3α and citrate carrier (CIC, also known as Slc25a1). shRNA- or inhibitor–mediated inhibition of Idh3α and Slc25a1 induced citratemt accumulation and necroptosis in vitro. Mice with AEC-specific Idh3α and Slc25a1 deficiency exhibited exacerbated lung injury and AEC necroptosis. Interestingly, the overexpression of Idh3α and Slc25a1 decreased citratemt levels and rescued AECs from necroptosis. Mechanistically, citratemt accumulation induced mitochondrial fission and excessive mitophagy in AECs. Furthermore, citratemt directly interacted with FUN14 domain-containing protein 1 (FUNDC1) and promoted the interaction of FUNDC1 with dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1), leading to excessive mitophagy-mediated necroptosis and thereby initiating and promoting ALI. Importantly, necroptosis induced by citratemt accumulation was inhibited in FUNDC1-knockout AECs. We show that citratemt accumulation is a novel target for protection against ALI involving necroptosis.

        An Integrated Study on Interactive Factors for the Design of Danmaku Comment Interfaces in Educational Videos

        This study aims to investigate interactivity factors within the danmaku comment interface design of educational video, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach. It seeks to explore how users interact with educational video comments using user-centered design methods, analyzing them across four dimensions: responsiveness, controllability, visual appeal, and entertainment. The statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS, while the second-order structural equation model calculations were performed with AMOS. The results indicated the following: 1. The Cronbachs Alpha values for the four factors were 0.873, 0.844, 0.890, and 0.862, with a KMO value of 0.955. The p-value was significant, confirming the reliability and validity of the test. 2. Confirmation factor analysis (including fitting indices, comprehensive reliability, and discriminant validity of the model) suggests that controllability, responsiveness, visual appeal, and entertainment are closely associated with interactivity. 3. Path analysis demonstrates that these four dimensions play a vital role in enhancing the effectiveness and appeal of comment interface design in educational videos, with controllability being identified as the most critical factor in the design of educational video comments.

        Finite-gain Lp Consensus of Multi-agent Systems

        This paper studies consensus problems for multi-agent systems modeled by linear time-invariant systems with external disturbances under a fixed directed communication topology. It is shown that consensus can be achieved if each agent with the same disturbance signals. But the result is different for each agent with different disturbances. In this case, the finite-gain Lp consensus is introduced to describe the effects of the external disturbance on the consensus performance. A necessary and sufficient condition for reaching finite-gain Lp consensus is presented, and analytic estimation of the Lp gain is given. A distributed algorithm is proposed to ensure that the finite-gain L2 consensus can be reached with a desired L2 gain. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the given results.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SiF) is increasingly used as a proxy for vegetation canopy photosynthesis. While ground-based, airborne, and satellite observations have demonstrated a strong linear relationship between SiF and gross primary production (GPP) at seasonal scales, their relationships at high temporal resolution across diurnal to seasonal scales remain unclear. In this study, far-red canopy SiF, GPP, and absorbed photosynthetically active radiation (APAR) were continuously monitored using automated spectral systems and an eddy flux tower over an entire growing season in a rice paddy. At half-hourly resolution, strong linear relationships between SiF and GPP (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.76) and APAR and GPP (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.76) for the whole growing season were observed. We found that relative humidity, diffuse PAR fraction, and growth stage influenced the relationships between SiF and GPP, and APAR and GPP, and incorporating those factors into multiple regression analysis led to improvements up to R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.83 and R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.88, respectively. Relationships between LUE<SUB>p</SUB> (=GPP/APAR) and LUE<SUB>f</SUB> (=SiF/APAR) were inconsistent at half-hourly and weak at daily resolutions (R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.24). Both at diurnal and seasonal time scales with half-hourly resolution, we found considerably stronger linear relationships between SiF and APAR than between either SiF and GPP or APAR and GPP. Overall, our results indicate that for subdiurnal temporal resolution, canopy SiF in the rice paddy is above all a very good proxy for APAR at diurnal and seasonal time scales and that therefore SiF-based GPP estimation needs to take into account relevant environmental information to model LUE<SUB>p</SUB>.         Recent Developments in the Effects of Different Dopants on the Structure and Property of Lithium Titanate Material

        The lithium titanium spinel Li4Ti5O12 has attracted more and more attention as anode materials applied in lithium ion batteries. Li4Ti5O12 material has been found to be able to intercalate lithium ions without deformation of the lattice. However, compared with graphite and other anode materials, the low conductivity of Li4Ti5O12 restricts its charging and discharging rate. Doping is deemed to be a businesslike method to enhance ionic and electronic conductivity of Li4Ti5O12. This paper reviews the effects of Li4Ti5O12 with different doping ions on different crystal lattice states. And it has been found by a summary that the doping objective of doping ions at Li4Ti5O12 is also different. Moreover, the applications of ion doping in different fields of Li4Ti5O12 are prospected.

      • Lack of Association of the Cyclooxygenase-2 Gene 8473T>C Polymorphism with Breast Cancer Risk: a Meta-analysis

        Background: Associations between the 8473T>C polymorphism (rs5275) in the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) gene and breast cancer (BC) risk are still inconclusive and ambiguous. The aim of this meta-analysis was to comprehensively estimate the genetic risk of 8473T>C polymorphism in the COX-2 gene for BC. Materials and Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Medline, Chinese biomedical (CBM), Weipu, China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang databases, covering all publications (last search was updated on Aug 17, 2014). Statistical analyses were performed using Revman 5.3 and STATA 10.0 software. Results: A total of 6,720 cases and 9,794 controls in 12 studies were included in this study. The results indicated no significant associations between the 8473T>C polymorphism of the COX-2 gene and BC risk for the CC+TC vs TT model (pooled odds ratio (OR)=0.97, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.90-1.03, and p=0.29). On subgroup analysis, we also found that subdivision on ethnicity among Caucasians, Asians and others also revealed no relationship with BC susceptibility. With the study design (CC+TC vs TT), no significant associations were found in either population-based case-control studies (PCC), or hospital-based case-control studies (HCC). Conclusions: This present meta-analysis suggests that the 8473T>C polymorphism in the COX-2 gene is not a conspicuous low-penetrant risk factor for developing BC.
