This is to investigate the posibility of home manufacturing of heavy chemical industry machines, such as rotary kiln, crusher, blower, cooler, electrostatic precipitator and weighing feeder of cement plant. It is concluded that even though we can not make all of them (some of them are made now and some others are going to be made in the near future, some of them are made whole and some others are made partially), we can build or export the cement plant by importing the important machines which we can not make now and by substituting them with ours gradually.
I had exercised 16 middle and long-distance runners attending this school in Weight Training and Circuit Training to improve their running skills for 12 months. Having arranged and analyzed the improvement of their physical strength and their records, I had applied a training schedule and a record list system to them. So I came to the conslusion as follows. A. By means of exercising them in accordance with their aptitude, 1. almost all runners improved their physical strength, muscular staying power, softness, promptitude, etc. 2. they imporved their records remarkably by improving their physical strength and by an ideal running method. 3. they improved their physiques normally by a rational training method. B. By means of using a progressive coaching technique method and the record list in accordance with training schedule, 1. I could easily sieze the individual capacity and the fact that the runners went on doing their best. 2. the runners realized the importance of physical strength and exerted themselves to improve their records. 3. the runners trained with a firm faith without languor. C. The runners` respons after Weight Training and Circuit Training 1. Though they agonized physically and spiritually, more then 90% of them wanted to continue training. 2. More then 90% of them improved their records after the training and three sets which between a third and two-thirds of their capacity was used in were moderate tranining.
To prepare a durable softening water repellent, quaternized stearyl methacrylate-2-diethylami-noethyl methacrylate as a mother resin and quaternized 1-behenoylaminoethyl-2-docosyl imidazo-line which increase the softening effect and the hydrostatic pressure blended with waxes and their emulsifier in various proportions to give water repellent PPSBC. As the results of the measurement of water repellency. washable, tear strength and crease recovery to polyester-cotton(P/C) blended fabrics treated with PPSBC only or addition of textile finishing resin, the physical properties were increased. there was no significant lowering effect in water repellency when PPSBC was treated the antistatic agent by the one-bath method. and the effect of water repellency by the adding the catalyst was studied. PPSBC was confirmed as durable water repellent with the results of making little difference of water repellency as±5 point after and before washing. And, the water repellency mechanism of P/C blended fabrics treated with PPSBC was also discussed in detail.
Separation, pressure and velocity distributions were studied fully developed two dimensinonal, incompressible flow over a flat airfoil in subsonic wind tunnel. Velocity and turbulence were measured with a two channel constant temperature hot wire anemometer and pressure with a pitot tube and pressure tranducer system. The experimental results were obtained as follow: (1) Turbulent intensity of shear layer just outside the separation point is considered to affect the size of separation bubble. (2) Static pressure coefficient is separated into three regions according to its value change. (3) Separation point is varied with the change of attack angle. (4) Velocity distributions and boundary layers normal to airfoil surface are changed as variation of attack angle of airfoil.
In order to investigate the relationship of body weight, body temperature and pulse rate to hypothyroidism in the state of uni-lateral thyroidectomy of Korean native goat, a brief observation was carried out. Twenty healthy male adult goats (7 months old) were used in the present experiment dividing into 2 groups, the control with 5 and the experimental with 15, respectively. Individuals of the experimental group were received uni-lateral thyroidectomy by surgical operation, while individuals of the control group, on the other hand, were received sham-operation. Measurements of body weight, body temperature and pulse rate after the operation were performed in duration of 48 days by 2 days interval. The results obtained could be summerized as follows. 1. There were no significant changes in body weight of experimental group compared to that of control group. 2. Uni-laterally thyroidectomized goat showed no changes in body temperature, which is seemed to he doe to a compensatory effect. 3. Statistical calculation did not show any difference in pulse rate between control and experimental group. The present experiment can he concluded that uni-lateral thyroidetomy had not any effect on the changes body weight, body temperature and pulse rate.
A new device, muscle clamping system was developed to facilitate exact quatifying technique A strabismus surgery, and reduce the risk of complications. The device is composed of a lower fixing body with three jaws and an upper supporting body. They are used to clip an extraocular muscle and fix it to the sclera with a single bite. Superior rectus recession on 16 rabbit eyes were performed with this new device. Conjunctival injection, muscle adhesion strength, and light microscopic findings were examined at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks postoperatively. The Conjunctival injection were minimal, adhesion power ranged from 420 to 600 gram gravity, which is sufficient in withstand the normal pull of human extraocular muscle. In microscopic exam, some Inflammatory cells and fibrosis were found. The new device was technically easy, fast, and accurate, so it may be useful in stabismus surgery.
The purpose of this study is to research an effect of aggregate size on the compressive strength of concrete. Tests were, therefore, made in sixteen classes of concrete : maximum aggregate sizes of 5, 10, 20, 30^mm with water cement rations of 40% and 60% and with AEA°cement rations of 0.00% and 0.03% for each maximum aggregate size. The results of this experiment are showing the fellowing tendency. 1. Generally, with the range of this experiment program, the smaller maximum aggregate size becomes, the higher the compressive strength of concrete gets. 2. The decreasing tate of the compressive strength of concrete gets higher in lean mix concrete than in rich mix concrete at each age. 3. The compressive strength of concrete is developed faster with not only the increase of maximum aggregate size but also the decrease of water cement ratio. And it shows that the rate of the compressive strength development is higher in AE concrete in spite of water cement ratio.
An improved retinal tack can be used to fix the retina in complicated retinal detachment and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. We used the retinal tack made by biodegradable polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid and copolymers. The tacks with polyglycolic acid were placed in the retina the right eyes of 10 rabbits as group 1, with polylactic-polyglycolic acid copolymers as group 2 in each left eyes. We examined the absorption rates and degree of intraocular inflammation at 1 day, 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks and compared both eyes. The tacks were absorbed with time in both eyes, but more rapid in copolymers. And there was no inflammation in both eyes. Now, this study will be a base on the drug delivery system in intraocular pharmacological and surgical management.
Purpose : To investigate the relationship between three-dimensional (3D) bone imaging parameters and trabecular strength in the mandible. Materials and Methods : Bone specimens were obtained from the mandibles of five male pigs weighing around 110 kg each. Of those, 43 samples were selected for 3D analysis and measured by micro-computed tomography. The five morphometric parameters were trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), bone specific surface (BS/BV), percent bone volume (BV/TV), structure model index (SMI) and degree of anisotropy (DA). Through destructive mechanical testing, strength parameters were obtained. Results : BV/TV, SMI, BS/BV, and Tb.Th showed significant correlations with strength parameters. DA did not show any correlation with the other parameters. In multiple linear regression analysis, BV/TV alone explained 43% of the variance in Young’s modulus. By stepwise inclusion of SMI, the variance in the Young’s modulus was better explained up to 52%. Conclusions : Predicting trabecular strength in the mandible through architectural analysis would be possible. Further study is needed to establish the tendency and variety of trabecular architecture and strength according to the locations within the mandible.
