Hyperostotic Esthesioneuroblastoma: Rare Variant and Fibrous Dysplasia Mimicker

Manzoor Ahmed,Phillip Daniel Knott 대한영상의학회 2014 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.15 No.1

A 65-year-old male presented with a 3-year history of orbital symptoms. An imaging-based diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia involving the skull base was made at another institution. CT showed a diffuse sinonasal mass and ground-glass appearance of the bones of the anterior skull base with bony defects and mucocele formation. MRI demonstrated an accompanying intracranial and orbital rind of soft tissue mass along the hyperostotic bones. FDG-PET showed corresponding intense hypermetabolism. Small cysts were observed at the tumor-brain interface. Biopsy revealed esthesioneuroblastoma with boneinfiltration that is compatible with the hyperostotic variant of esthesioneuroblastoma. There are a few cases of hyperostotic esthesioneuroblastoma reported in the literature.

Influence of Financial Literacy and Educational Skills on Entrepreneurial Intent: Empirical Evidence from Young Entrepreneurs of Pakistan

Muhammad Ahmed BILAL,Hadi Hassan KHAN,Muhammad IRFAN,S.M. Nabeel Ul HAQ,Manzoor ALI,Ali KAKAR,Wahab AHMED,Abdul RAUF 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.1

This paper attempts to study the impact of Financial Literacy on Youth Entrepreneurial Intent in Pakistan. A closed-ended self-administered structured questionnaire covering financial literacy, computer knowledge, financial attitude, and financial knowledge with Entrepreneurial Intent was collected from young entrepreneurs. The research tried to investigate the education level with computer skill to inspect the effect of financial literateness on young generation Entrepreneurial Intent in the context of Pakistan. The research model was tested using PLS-SEM and authenticating a measurement model through the advanced methodology and their association with Entrepreneurial Intent. Results revealed that financial literacy and its two parts (financial attitude and financial knowledge) have a positive impact on Entrepreneurial Intent. The size of the joint impact of financial literacy and its components on Entrepreneurial Intent was assessed to be adequate. Entrepreneurial Intent is essential for creating new firms to maintain economic development. Furthermore, it is determined in this research that if youth has better financial knowledge and financial attitude, the probability of Entrepreneurial Intent increases. This suggests that if the youth in Pakistan desire to attain a higher limit of Entrepreneurial Intent, they must implement financial literacy models for enhancing and promoting their current Entrepreneurial Intent.

Estimates of Genetic Parameters and Genetic Trends for Growth Traits of Doyogena Sheep in Southern Ethiopia

        Kebede Habtegiorgis,Aynalem Haile,Manzoor Ahmed Kirmani,Tesfaye Getachew 한국동물유전육종학회 2020 한국동물유전육종학회지 Vol.4 No.2

The objective of this study was to estimate the genetic parameters, genetic trends and inbreeding levels for growth traits of Doyogena sheep managed under community-based breeding program. Records used in the study were collected over a period of 6 years (2013-2018).A total of 2990 birth weight (BWT), 2121 three-month weight (WWT), 1303 six month weight (6WT), 2098 average daily gain from birth to weaning (ADG0-3), 1287 average daily gain from weaning to 6-month age (ADG3-6), and 1293 average daily gain from birth to 6-month age (ADG0-6) were used. Variance components and genetic parameters were estimated with univariate analysis by fitting restricted maximum likelihood methods using WOMBAT software. Six different animal models were fitted by including or excluding maternal effects. Multivariate analysis was applied for correlation estimates. The overall least squares means ± standard errors (LSM±SE) of lamb body weight for BWT, WWT and 6WT were 3.05±0.02 kg; 14.8±2.49 kg and 22.0±0.22 kg respectively. The overall LSM±SE of ADG0-3, ADG3-6, and ADG0-6 in gram were 130.4±2.27, 80.6±3.62 and 106.2±1.7 respectively. Based on the best fitted univariate models, direct heritability estimates, for BWT, WWT, 6WT, ADG0-3, ADG3-6 and ADG0-6 were 0.33±0.06, 0.31±0.06, 0.14±0.06, 0.13±0.04, 0.11±0.07, and 0.023±0.05 respectively. The maternal heritability estimates for BWT and WWT were 0.24±0.12 and 0.6±0.07 respectively. BWT has weak genetic correlation with all other traits while genetic correlations between WWT and 6WT was higher (r=0.52±0.09). Genetic changes over the selection period was s0.00085 kg,0.30 kg,0.15 kg, 2.56gm, -0.37gm,0.09 gm, for BWT, WWT, 6WT, ADG0-3, ADG3-6, and ADG0-6, respectively. Genetic parameter estimates and genetic trend over years suggested that the genetic selection can lead to improvement of Doyogena sheep breed under the ongoing community-based breeding programs. Thus, continuation of selection therefore recommended for bringing further improvement.

Next Location Prediction with a Graph Convolutional Network Based on a Seq2seq Framework

( Jianwei Chen ),( Jianbo Li ),( Manzoor Ahmed ),( Junjie Pang ),( Minchao Lu ),( Xiufang Sun ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.5

Predicting human mobility has always been an important task in Location-based Social Network. Previous efforts fail to capture spatial dependence effectively, mainly reflected in weakening the location topology information. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based method which can capture spatial-temporal dependence to predict the next location of a person. Specifically, we involve a graph convolutional network (GCN) based on a seq2seq framework to capture the location topology information and temporal dependence, respectively. The encoder of the seq2seq framework first generates the hidden state and cell state of the historical trajectories. The GCN is then used to generate graph embeddings of the location topology graph. Finally, we predict future trajectories by aggregated temporal dependence and graph embeddings in the decoder. For evaluation, we leverage two real-world datasets, Foursquare and Gowalla. The experimental results demonstrate that our model has a better performance than the compared models.

Arun Asif,박성혁,Afaque Manzoor Soomro,Muhammad Asad Ullah Khalid,Abdul Rahim Chattikatikatuveli Salih,강보혜,Faheem Ahmed,김경환,최경현 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.98 No.-

In microfluidics, the emergingfield of microphysiological systems (MPS) is overcoming the challenge ofphysiological irrelevancy by animal models for drug discovery and development. Liver function iscritically influenced by drugs owing to its role in drug metabolism and detoxification. Human serumalbumin (HSA) is one of the most important secreted biomarkers which indicate normal liver function. Amicrofluidic albumin immunosensor was developed to be integrated with liver-on-a-chip MPS forcontinuous feedback over disease modeling and treatment. A gold-electrode based electrochemicalimmunosensor was established by anti-HSA antibody immobilization. The liver MPS was found to beefficient for live monitoring of disease modelling and drug treatment over the period of 6 days. Thesystem emulated and analyzed real-time toxicity modeling with HSA sensing. The detection limit ofintegrated sensor was 1 mg/ml with successive reproducibility. The proposed sensor was also validatedwith metabolic biomarkers’ assays. Molecular assays supported the sensor monitoring and depicted liverinjury and recovery. The liver MPS with combined albumin sensor chip may be a promising platform tomimic real-time drug assessment.

Elimination of solidification shrinkage defects in the casting of aluminum alloy

        Rashid Ali,Muhammad Zafar,Tareq Manzoor,Woo-Young Kim,Muhammad Usman Rashid,Syed Zameer Abbas,Behzad Ahmed Zai,Muddassir Ali 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.5

In this study, the analysis is carried out to optimize in-gate position and size of riser for casting mold. The baseline size of riser for the casting of boat propeller is based on geometric modulus and thermal analysis. The riser size is analyzed with thermal-volumetric numerical calculations to predict critical fraction solid (CFS) time and temperature gradient in casting. Simulation predictions are compared with inspection results of actual castings and found good qualitative agreement. The riser reached CFS temperature well before the castings’ cross-sectional transition regions. In feeding the molten metal, the in-gate is placed where the section modulus of casting is higher. However, the tongue of sand at in-gate increases the local cooling rate, resulting in early solidification and blockage of feeding path. The increase in riser size and in-gate position results in elimination of shrinkage cavities. An optical microscopy of the casting critical region is carried out to investigate the effect of numerical measures on internal closed microporosity and microstructure morphology.

Elimination of endurance degradation by oxygen annealing in bilayer ZnO/CeO2-x thin films for nonvolatile resistive memory

        Muhammad Ismail,Shazia Jabeen,Tahira Akber,Ijaz Talib,Fayyaz Hussain,Anwar Manzoor Rana,Muhammad Hussain,Khalid Mahmood,Ejaz Ahmed,Dinghua Bao 한국물리학회 2018 Current Applied Physics Vol.18 No.8

Effect of oxygen annealing on bipolar resistive switching (BRS) properties of TiN/ZnO/CeO2-x/Pt devices was investigated. Bilayer ZnO/CeO2-x thin films were fabricated by rf-magnetron sputtering. It was observed that the improvement in cycle-to-cycle endurance degradation and uniformity of the bilayer ZnO/CeO2-x thin film is optimum at 400 °C annealing temperature due to decrease in oxygen vacancies during annealing, as confirmed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The BRS could be caused by the formation of interfacial TiON layer, which is most likely to be accountable for creating an adequate quantity of oxygen vacancies necessary for the formation and rupture of conductive filaments. Smaller Gibbs free energy of the formation of interfacial TiON (−611 kJmol−1) layer as compared to bilayer film ZnO (−650 kJmol−1) and CeO2 (−1024 kJmol−1) results in an easier re-oxidation of the filaments through the oxygen exchange with TiN top electrode. The analysis of current– voltage characteristics shows that the charge transport mechanism is Schottky emission. Moreover, the temperature dependence of high resistance state (HRS) and low resistance state (LRS) revealed the physical origin of the RS mechanism, which entails the oxygen vacancies for the formation and rupture of conducting paths.
