This study was aimed to find what impacts the combined training of circuit weight training and swimming training can give to the competing power of swimming athletes and their respiratory functions and to provide the basic data for preparing the desirable training program to shorten swimming records through 14 girl swimming athletes, a group of 7 athletes in circuit weight training and another 7 in swimming training and the following conclusions were obtained: 1. Swimming and Circuit training groups showed, before and after 12 week training, the changes of muscular strength: grasping power (p<.001), back muscle (p<.01), arm extensor (p<.05), leg extensor (p<.05), leg curl extensor (p<.01), broad jump (p<.05) increased espectively than those of swimming training group and which were more effective. 2. In the comparison between groups, the meaningful difference appeared in swimming training groups, showing grasping power (p<.01), back muscular strength (p<.01), arm extensor (p<.05), leg extensor (p<.01), leg extensor (p <.01) 3. In the changes of competition record, in swimming and circuit training group, before and after 12 week training, meaningful increases appeared by 50m record(p<.05), 200m record (p<.05) 4. In the changes of competition record, as for the comparison between groups, meaning ful increases, 50m record (p<.05), 200m record (p<.05) appeared.

본 연구는 체지방률이 32% 이상인 폐경 후 비만여성 36명을 대상으로 유산소운동이 혈청지질, 렙틴, 그렐린 및 인슐린저항성지수에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 운동집단(18명)과 통제집단(18명)으로 나누어 유산소운동인 라인댄스를 16주간 실시한 후 체조성, 혈청지질, 렙틴, 그렐린 및 인슐린저항성지수를 운동전과 후로 측정하여 비교분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 운동 후에 운동집단에서 체중, 체지방률(%BF), 체질량지수(BMI), 내장지방면적(VFA), 렙틴(Leptin), 인슐린(Insulin), 글루코스(Glucose), 인슐린저항성지수(HOMA-IR), 총콜레스테롤(TC), 중성지방(TG), 아포리포프로틴(Apolipoprotein) B, 저밀도지단백 콜레스테롤(LDL-C) 및 수축기혈압(SBP)이 유의하게 감소하였다. 또한 아포리포프로틴(Apolipoprotein) A-1, 그렐린(Ghrelin) 및 고밀도지단백 콜레스테롤(HDL-C)이 유의하게 증가하였다. 유산소운동집단의 내장지방면적에 영향을 미치는 에너지대사조절인자의 회귀분석결과에서 주요요인으로 그렐린, 인슐린, 글루코스 및 HOMA-IR 나타났다. 따라서 규칙적이고 지속적인 유산소운동이 폐경 후 비만여성의 체조성, 내장지방, 혈청지질, 렙틴, 그렐린 및 HOMA-IR을 개선시키는 데 효과가 있을 것으로 생각된다. The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of aerobic exercise on the blood lipids, leptin, ghrelin, and HOMA-IR factors in obese postmenopausal Korean women. Thirty-six healthy postmenopausal women (mean age, 54.47 ± 2.50 years) with >32 % body fat were assigned randomly to an aerobic exercise group (n = 18) or to a "no exercise" control group (n = 18). The subjects" body composition, blood lipid, leptin, ghrelin levels, and HOMA-IR were measured before and after a 16-week line-dancing program. The exercise group showed a significant decrease in body weight, percent body fat, body mass index, visceral fat area, leptin, insulin, glucose, HOMA-IR, total cholesterol, triglycerides, apolipoprotein B, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure. In addition, this group exhibited a significant increase in the apolipoprotein A-I, ghrelin, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. The energy metabolic factors that influenced the visceral fat included ghrelin, leptin, insulin, glucose, and HOMA-IR. The t-value, which determined the statistical significance of the independent variables, was significant for ghrelin, glucose, insulin, and HOMA-IR (p < 0.05). Regular and continuous aerobic exercise (e.g., line dancing) effectively improved the body composition, visceral fat, serum blood lipids, leptin, ghrelin, and HOMA-IR factors in obese postmenopausal Korean women.
Apolipoprotein A5 3`-UTR variants and cardiometabolic traits in Koreans

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to test the association between APOA5 3"-UTR variants (rs662799) and cardiometabolic traits in Koreans. SUBJECTS/METHODS: For this study, epidemiological data, Apolipoprotein A5 (APOA5) genotype information, and lymphoblastoid cell line (LCL) biospecimens from a subset of the Ansung-Ansan cohort within the Korean Genome and Epidemiology study (KoGES-ASAS; n = 7,704) as well as epidemiological data along with genomic DNA biospecimens of participants from a subset of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES 2011-12; n = 2,235) were obtained. APOA5 mRNA expression was also measured. RESULTS: APOA5 rs662799 genotype distributions in both the KoGES-ASAS and KNHANES groups were 50.6% for TT, 41.3% for TC, and 8.1% for CC, which are similar to those in previous reports. In both groups, minor C allele carriers, particularly subjects with CC homozygosity, had lower high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and higher triglyceride levels than TT homozygotes. Linear regression analysis showed that the minor C allele significantly contributed to reduction of circulating HDL cholesterol levels [β = -2.048, P < 0.001; β = -2.199, P < 0.001] as well as elevation of circulating triglyceride levels [β = 0.053, P < 0.001; β = 0.066, P < 0.001] in both the KoGES-ASAS and KNHANES groups. In addition, higher expression levels of APOA5 in LCLs of 64 healthy individuals were negatively associated with body mass index (r = -0.277, P = 0.027) and circulating triglyceride level (r = -0.340, P = 0.006) but not significantly correlated with circulating HDL cholesterol level. On the other hand, we observed no significant difference in the mRNA level of APOA5 according to APOA5 rs662799 polymorphisms. CONCLUSIONS: The C allele of APOA5 rs662799 was found to be significantly associated with cardiometabolic traits in a large Korean population from the KoGES-ASAS and KNHANES. The effect of this genotype may be associated with post-transcriptional regulation, which deserves further experimental confirmation.

HAL(High Level Architecture)를 기반으로 한 시뮬레이션들은 분산 환경에서 수행되는 특징을 갖는다. 이러한 시뮬레이션들은 지난 몇 년 동안 계속해서 그 규모가 커지고, 복잡해지고 있다. 이런 분산 시뮬레이션을 실행시킬 때 페더레이트(federate)들의 오동작으로 네트워크의 혼잡을 유발하는 등의 문제점이 생길 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 효율적으로 해결하기 위해서는 이와 같은 분산 시뮬레이션을 관리 할 수 있는 수단이 필요하게 되었다. HAL 개발자들은 페더레이션(federation)의 내부를 알기 위해서 객체 모델을 개발 했고, 이것을 Management Object Model(MOM) 이라고 한다. HLA MOM은 페더레이션을 모니터링과 컨트를 하며 관리 할 수 있게 한다. HLA RTI는 페더레이트간에 효율적으로 정보를 교환하게 하는 분산 운영 시스템이며 MOM을 통해서 RTI의 운영정보에 접근하고 수행을 통제 할 수 있는 방법을 제공하고 있다. MOM을 이용할 경우 RTI 운영 정보들은 기존의 RTI 서비스를 이용해서 전달될 수 있으며, 이런 특성으로 인해 시스템 관리를 목적으로 하는 어플리케이션을 용이하게 구현 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 HLA MOM을 이용한 페더레이션을 관리 하는 FMS(federation Management System)을 개발하고자 한다.

Background/Aims: This study was performed to investigate the correlation of sodium iodide symporter (NIS) expression with the functionality and loss of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) expression in human cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Methods: Immunohisto-chemistry for the expression of NIS and PTEN was performed in 60 biopsy specimens of CCA. The clinicopathological parameters were retrospectively identified from medical records. The expression pattern of NIS and loss of PTEN ex-pression were analyzed in association with the clinicopatho-logical characteristics, including survival. Results: Normal biliary trees displayed NIS expression, but hepatocytes did not. NIS expression was divided into two patterns: cytoplas-mic and membranous. Fifty-nine cases, all except for one case, displayed NIS expression in tumor cells. Twenty-two cases (33.3%) were mixed pattern, and 39 cases (65.05%) were cytoplasmic pattern; the pure membranous pattern was not noted. There was no association between the NIS expres-sion pattern and clinicopathological parameters, including age, sex, differentiation grade, T stage and tumor, node, metastasis stage (p>0.05). The survival rates were similar among various NIS expression patterns. Normal hepatocytes and biliary trees exhibited PTEN expression in the nucleus and cytoplasm. CCA cells displayed nuclear staining. Thirty-six (60.0%) of 60 cases displayed a loss of PTEN expression. The loss of PTEN expression was observed in the advanced T-stage group (p=0.0036), but there was no association be-tween the loss of PTEN expression and other clinicopatholog-ical parameters (p>0.05). No association between the loss of PTEN expression and survival was noted. Conclusions: NIS is expressed in most types of human CCA. The expression pattern suggests a role in cancer development. PTEN loss ex-pression is common in the context of human CCA, especially in the advanced T stage. (Gut Liver 2012;6:374-380)

N/A ERCP is an important new diagnostic method of biliary and pancreatic disease which has been made possible by the development of fiberoptic duodenoscopy. Authors analyzed 212 cases of obstructive jaundice out of total 646 cases of ERCP performed at the Kwangju Christian Hospital between August 1976 and July 1981, and compared them with the final diagnosis. The results were as follows: 1) Out of 212 cases, successful visualization of the duct was achieved in 189 cases (89%), 2) The ratio of male to female was about 2: 1. Most of them were in the 4th to 6th decade. 3) Out of 50 cases of CBD stone, 49 cases were diagnosed by ERCP and operation was done in 46 cases. 4) Out of 54 cases of pancreatic cancer, 32 cases were diagnosed by ERCP, But most of them were not candidate for surgical resection due to early distant metastasis. 5) Out of 32 cases of CBD cancer, 31 cases were diagnosed by ERCP alone. Also they met astasized early to liver. 6) 35 cases of hepatitis were proved to be nonobstructive cholestatic type by ERCP and biopsy. All of them were cured by medical treatment alone. 7) Out of 15 cases of ampullary cancer, 9 cases were confirmed by ERCP with endoscopic biopsy. 8) Complications of ERCP were extremely rare. Transient abdominal distention, abdominal discomfort and elevated serum amylase were noted, but were not clinically significant.
