Statistical approaches for analysis of data from the limited number of samples in ship building industry(SBI) collected by an industrial hygienist for checking compliance to an occupational standard were considered. Sampling for com-pliance usually has been guided by judgment selection, rather than true randomness, resulting in the creation of compliance samples which approximate a censored sample from the upper tail of the exposure distribution. Similar exposure groups(SEGs) including welding and painting process were established to assess representative values in each groups after reviewing the whole production line in SBI. For the convenient statistical approaches, the code has assigned to each SEGs. The descriptive statistics and probability plotting were used to yield the representative values in each SEGs. In the first step, SEGs of 558 were established from 5 ship building companies, The 38 SEGs showed the uncertainty are divided into each 5 companies and assessed the repre-sentative values again. The 44 SEGs in each companies was not showed the normal and lognormal distribution was analyzed each data. And also, recommendation was suggested to resolve the uncertainty in each groups.
Molecular Vibration-Activity Relationship in the Agonism of Adenosine Receptors
Chee, Hyun Keun,Oh, S. June Korea Genome Organization 2013 Genomics & informatics Vol.11 No.4
The molecular vibration-activity relationship in the receptor-ligand interaction of adenosine receptors was investigated by structure similarity, molecular vibration, and hierarchical clustering in a dataset of 46 ligands of adenosine receptors. The resulting dendrogram was compared with those of another kind of fingerprint or descriptor. The dendrogram result produced by corralled intensity of molecular vibrational frequency outperformed four other analyses in the current study of adenosine receptor agonism and antagonism. The tree that was produced by clustering analysis of molecular vibration patterns showed its potential for the functional classification of adenosine receptor ligands.

Objectives : This study investigated the relationship of the dissatisfied body parts, personality characteristics, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, and self-esteem in a Korean medical student sample. Methods : Three hundred and eighty six medical students completed the measures of Body Dysmorphic Disorder Examination-self report(BDDE-SR-Korean version), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ-Korean version), Beck Depression Inventory(BDI-Korean version), Maudsley Obsessional-Compulsive Inventory(MOCI-Korean version), Liebowitz social anxiety scale(LSAS-Korean version), Rosenberg Self Esteem scale(SES-Korean version). Results : Out of the 386 students, 72.0%(N=278) were male and 28%(N=108) were female. The most dissatisfied body part of participants were waist-abdomen(10.0%), tooth(8.3%), head hair(7.8%), nose(6.8%) and thigh(5.3%). The gender difference in dissatisfied body parts, the body part in female student were breast, calves, thighs, nose and buttocks. Whereas, males were concerned about head hair, shoulder, genitals, chest, eyes, mouth. In Higher BDDE-SR score group, neuroticism, addiction, impulsivity, empathy and criminality personality traits were significantly higher than lower BDDE-SR score group. And, Higher BDDE-SR score were linked with high levels of MOCI, BDI, and LSAS score but with lower level of SES score. Conclusion : These findings indicate that the medical college students with higher level of body dissatisfied are highly associated with neuroticism, addiction, impulsivity empathy and criminality personality traits, and have higher score of depression, social anxiety, obsession and poor self-esteem.

The interruption of hepatic blood flow has been adopted as a method of bleeding control in hepatectomy and liver transplantation. But this occlusion of hepatic inflow may result in significant hepatic injury by various kinds of oxygen radicals produced as a result of hepatic ischemia and following reperfusion. Arterial ketone body ratio(AKBR) is adequatc and convenient parameter by which both acute and prolonged changes of the hepatic function can be estimated. Pharmacological modulation of hepatic injury during warm ischemia and early reperfusion has shown some benefical effects. The authors conducted an experiment to evaluate the inhibitory effect of glutathione and prostaglandin E on hepatic injury due to acute hepatic ischemia and reperfusion. Thirty rabbits were divided into three groups, such as control(n=10), GSH(n=10) and PGE(n=10) groups. Acute hepatic ischemia was induced through the application of portal triad cross-clamping for 30 minutes, and thereafter hepatic reperfusion was induced with the removal of cross-clamping. A single bolus of 200 mg glutathione was injected 10 min before clamp in GSH group, and 200 ng/kg/min of PGE continuously from 10 min before clamp to 30 min after declamp in PGE group. AKBR and hepatic histological findings hefore clamp, 30 min after clamp, 5 min and 30 min after declamp, respectively were compared among 3 groups AKBR was markedly decreased during the clamping period in all groups (P$lt;0.05). In control and PGE groups AKRR was significantly increased after reperfusion than before clamp (P$lt;0.05), but was significantly lower than before clamp. Thirty minutes after reperfusion in GSH group AKBR returned to normal level and was significantly higher than in control group (P$lt;0.05). On light tnicroscopic examination of liver biopsy, mild swollen hepatocytes in the centrilobular zone were seen at ischemia and reperfusion in control and GSH groups, but nearly normal hepatic architectures in PGE group. These results suggest that glutathione has some benefical effect on protection of hepatic dysfunction, and PGE1 on protection of hepatocellular injury during hepatic ischemia and reperfusion.

Background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the concentration of cardiovascular surgical procedures in a metropolitan area and investigate the perception of specialists regarding governmental policies to resolve this imbalance. Methods: From March to May 2015, surveys were distributed to members of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Association. The final pool of research subjects consisted of 75 respondents. Subjects were queried regarding the concentration of cardiovascular operations in metropolitan areas, alternatives to the imbalance, and governmental policies to resolve the inequalities. Results: Survey participants responded that South Korea needs governmental policies to alleviate the concentration of cardiovascular surgery patients in large metropolitan hospitals. Participants agreed that the freedom to choose medical institutions and improved accessibility to metropolitan hospitals due to advanced transportation systems were some of the causes for the concentration. A majority (98.7%) of respondents thought establishing thoracic and cardiovascular surgery centers in provinces was an appropriate solution to alleviate the concentration. Thoracic and cardiovascular surgery specialists were ranked as the number one group on which to focus development. Conclusion: Developing and carrying out policies to establish thoracic and cardiovascular surgery centers in provinces will alleviate the regional imbalance in available heart surgery services and an overall improvement in cardiovascular disease treatment in South Korea.
Surgical Correction of Cor Triatriatum Associated with Pulmonary Artery Thrombosis in an Adult
Jae-Bum Park,Je-Kyoun Shin,Hyun-Keun Chee,Jun-Seok Kim,Sung-min Ko,Meong-Gun Song 대한흉부외과학회 2011 Journal of Chest Surgery (J Chest Surg) Vol.44 No.6
We herein present a case of a successful correction of cor triatriatum associated with thrombotic pulmonary hypertension diagnosed in an adult female patient. We confirmed diagnosis using transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography in addition to cardiac computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Surgical repair comprised excision of the fibromuscular membranous septum in the left atrium, patch closure of an atrial septal defect, and reconstruction of the pulmonary arteries with a vascular graft. Cor triatriatum complicated pulmonary thrombotic hypertension with atrial septal defect is amenable to surgical correction with satisfactory results.
