      • Metal Oxide Sensor Array를 이용한 사과와 귤의 신선도 분석

        The Electronic Nose has been designed to provide objective and reproducible aroma discrimination on a wide variety to human nose. The sensor array in combination with sophisticated chemometrics and artificial neural network software provides the output displaying the closeness of difference in aroma patterns of different samples. As an application the system has been used to discriminate of the fresh and decomposing apples and oranges. The discrimination has been successfully demonstrated.

        A Geiger-M□ller(GM) radiation sensor is fabricated by using the vacuum system and gas feeding system. The base pressure of the vacuum system is 1X10^(-7)torr, and two MFCs(0~10sccm, ±1% accuracy of the full scale) are used to control the composition of filling gas exactly. The fabricated GM radiation sensor is simultaneously filled with the mixture of neon and clorine. The mica window(7.43mg/cm^(2)) is attached to the GM radiation sensor. The optimized GM radiation sensor has about 660V starting voltage, 125V plateua length, and 10%/100V plateau slope.

      • Irbesartan과 Lercanidipine의 병용요법이 고혈압 및 혈관재형성에 미치는 효과

        Hypertension is one of the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and can lead to or make worse many complications, heart disease, atherosclerosis and diabetes. Thus, managing blood pressure effec tively using therapeutic drugs such as angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) and Ca2+ channel blocker (CCB) can be prevent other complications. Therefore, we investigated the synergistic effect of these two drugs, ir besartan and lercanidipine, for antihypertension, cardioprotection and antidiabetes. Irbesartan (28.74 mg/kg, 14.37 mg/kg) or lercanidipine (1.92 mg/kg, 0.96 mg/kg) alone or combination was administered to sponta-neously hypertensive rats (SHRs) and C57BL/6 mice. A two-week treatment of combination with irbesartan and lercanidipine significantly attenuated systolic blood pressure (SBP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) compared with monotherapy. Futhermore. the combination therapy protected myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury more effectively than monotherapy. In vascular remodeling, combination therapy significantly diminished cuff -induced neointima formation and reduced serum -indllced vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) pro-liferation compared with monotherapy. However, combination therapy had no significant synergistic effect of blood glucose regulation. Taken together, present study suggest that the combination therapy of irbesartan and lercanidipine may be more effective therapeutic strategy for the treatment of hypertension and related complications, myocardial infarction and arterial restenosis than monotherapy

      • Metal Oxide Sensor를 이용한 알코올 분석

        A resistance value of the metal oxide sensor for alcohols was measured by metal oxide senor (FOX2000). T30/1 sensor showed the best response to propanols. The pattern analysis could be measured to ppm and resistance could be processed as various forms. We could find that six sensor responses for propanols were better than those of methanol, when alcohols were displayed at the same time on the radar axis plane with maximum value of △R/Ro by sensors. Alcohols and distilled water were analysed with a principle component and they could be confirmed as being separated clearly.

      • 후두 및 하인두 편평세포암종에서 E-cadherin의 면역조직화학적 발현

        Background and Objectives : The cell-cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin is necessary for the maintenance of the epithelial cellular structure. We were designed to confirm the significance of E-cadherin as a marker for differentiation and invasiveness of squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. Materials and Methods : Our study was investigated for the immunohistochemical expression of the epithelium-specific cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin in formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue specimen of 32 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of larynx and hypopharynx. Results : The positive expression of E-cadherin was 56.3%(18 cases) in squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. Decreased E-cadherin expression was a stastistically significant correlation with a increased grade of lymph node stage and clinical stage. Reduced expression was seen in the large tumor size and poorly differentiated tumors, but these result was not statistically significant. Conclusion : The expression of E-cadherin may be related with progression of squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. But these correlation were not sufficient for the prognostic indicators in squamous cell carcinomas of the larynx and hypopharynx.

        생태시의 자각 방식 연구

        The purpose of this study is to consider the awakening method of Ecopoetry. The term "ecopoetry" is based on a critical mind of the modern ecology. The awakening methods of ecopoetry can be classified into three ways. The first one is attracting attentions through criticizing and encouraging, which has contributed to the conversion to the ecological attitude regarding poetic consciousness. The second one is presenting an ecological awareness. The third one is reemerging situations that pave the way for the ecological awareness, which can lead readers to profound understanding. Sentimental impression made by ecopoetry can provide chances for real awareness and metaphorical visions of ecopoetry will turn out to be definitely contributing factors for us to design ecocentric world.(Korea Air Force Academy)

        This study was intended to estimate the phenotypic and genotypic correlations on 11 characters in 20 rape varieties seeded on October 1 in Cheju-do. The results obtained are outlined as follows: 1. It was observed that seed weight was negatively correlated with growing period and plant length, but positively with total branch. 2. There was positive relationship between growing period and plant weight and close relationship between side branch and total branch. 3. Grnerally genotypic correlations were higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations

      • WO₃계 NO_(x)센서의 검지 특성과 바인더 첨가 효과

        The effects of various binderssuch as PVA, silica sol and alumina on the sensing characteristics of TiO_(2) (4 wt. %)-doped WO_(3)-based NO_(x). sensors were investigated. The sensor with PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) binder showed an improved sensitivity (R_(gas)/R_(air)- in NO_(x) 15 ppm = 375), response time and cross-sensitivity (selectivity) for interference gases (CO, SO_(2), CH_(4), C_(3)H_(8)). It could also be operated at a lower consumption power (about 1.6W at 180℃). The sensors with silica sol and alumina binders showed a decreased sensitivity (R_(gas)/R_(air) in NO_(x) 15 ppm = 63 and 31, respectively) for NO_(x) gas sensing, but they showed an improved cross-sensitivity, response and recovery time (1 -2 min. and 1 min., respectively) than the sensor fabricated without binder.

      • 생쥐 위장관의 Interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC)에 대한 면역조직화학적 연구

        Background and Objectives : Interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC) are the pacemakers in gastrointestinal tract that modulates gastrointestinal motiliey and these cells also transmit neural input from enteric nerves to smooth muscles. Recent work on tissues from patients with motility disorders that suggest that loss or defect in ICC could be related to pathophysiology in human and animal models. Immunolabelling of ICC in intestinal wall is recently developed by using specific marker, anti-c-kit antibody. Immunohistochemistry was done for ICC network in attempt to provide a morphological basis for the mechanism regulating gastrointestinal motility Methods : Cryosection was done, and whole-mount preparations of mouse stomach, gastrointestinal tract were immunolabelled using the anti-c-Kit. Immunolabelled ICC networks were observed under a confocal laser scanning microscopy. Results : According to three dimensional reconstruction study, we found that the c-Kit-positive celluar networks were widely distributed in the gastrointestinal muscle (1) circular muscle layer(IC-IM), (2) myenteric plexus(IC-MY), (3) deep muscular plexus(IC-DMP) in ileum, (4) submucosal plexus(IC-SMP) and longitudinal muscle layer(IC-LM) in colon. Conclusion : The characteristic profiles of ICC celluar networks provide a morphological basis upon the mechanism regulating gastrointestinal motility. Additional studies for the enteric nerves-ICC interaction are need to evaluate the detailed roles of Icc in gastrointestinal tract.

        '공포의 윤리학'과 '섭식의 관계'

        The purpose of this study is to consider the flow of eco-criticism and the development of eco-literature. The term of eco-literature means that produced on the basis of ecological consciousness. Ecology, originally a branch of natural sciences, has widened its area since 1960' s. As a result, contemporary ecology has the inter-disciplinary natures, embracing the achievements of social studies and humanities.<br/> Eco-poetry has developed from the stage to put emphasis on ecological conversion, via the stage to expand and intensify eco-poetical consciousness, to the stage to search for ecological alternative. Some works, divulging the environmental pollution or accusing modern civilization of causing ecological devastation, put great emphasis on ecological consciousness. So they turn into a kind of propaganda literature. Eco-poetical consciousness is divided into the expansion of eco-poetical consciousness and the intensification of eco-poetical consciousness. They are taken into consideration respectively. To show the expansion of eco-poetical consciousness, a lot of works produced by eco-poets are analyzed. Eco-literature is expected to solve the matter of life and to find out the ecological principle governing nature. Emotional power of a literary work overcomes the limits of logical persuasion and ethical duty, serving as the moment of truth for self-awakening. The goal of eco-literature is to present ecological alternative, and yet that still remains as a problem to solve. Positioned in the food web, humanbeings are meant to suppress their desires, so eco-poets should also reflect this concept in their wors.
