The purpose of this study was to report a new research activity program for the gifted middle-school students. In this program, students obtain the flame spectra of sodium chloride (NaCl) - potassium chloride (KCl) salt mixtures and commerial salts for food additives using a simple handheld spectrometer with a charge-coupled device detector. The salt mixtures with different compositions and commercial salts are placed in crucibles and added with ethanol. Then, students observes the wavelength-dispersed spectra and find the strong atomic emission lines of Na and K. The line-intensity-ratio of K line to Na line observed for the NaCl-KCl mixtures are utilized for the intensity-toconcentration calibration curves. Through this program, the students learn basic concepts of uniqueness of elements and elemental analysis. Based on the results, teachers can motivate the students to apply their methodology to classification of commercial salts. 이 연구의 목적은 불꽃반응 실험을 이용하여 중학교 과학분야 영재아들을 대상으로 하는 새로운 탐구활동프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 이 연구에서 고안한 실험은 손바닥 크기의 간단한 휴대용 분광기를 이용하여 에탄올을 뿌린 시료의 불꽃 스펙트럼을 측정하는 방법을 이용한다. 먼저, 몇 가지 성분비의 염화소듐-염화포타슘 혼합물을 만들어 불꽃 스펙트럼을 관찰하였다. 포타슘 농도를 결정하기 위한 농도 검정선을 얻어 보았다. 이와 같은과정을 통해서 영재아들은 원소의 고유한 성질과 원소 분석의 기본 개념을 배우게 된다. 영재아들은 소금 속의 미네랄 원소들이 건강에 미치는 영향에 대한 선행 조사를 통해서 본 탐구활동에 대한 동기를 강하게 부여받을 수 있으며, 이 실험 방법을 소금의 종류 판별 등에 적용함으로써 과학적 실험을 실생활의 문제 해결에 이용할 수 있음을 체험할 수 있다.

在卍海韓龍云的詩中"沈默"與"雄辯"共存,幷將兩者洽到好處的融爲一體, 意境優美而深刻. 卍海的詩與韓國傳統的語言觀念緊密結合.含蓄地表達內心世界是以韓國爲首的東方語言的基本認識. 接近語言的方式或像西方人那樣關心語言構詞都不能離開語言本身, 在表現與傳達的效用中, 他們重視語言機能, 所以熱衷干分析幷記述語言.而東方人比起語言本身更重視說話人的人格和人品. 卍海詩接近西方語言分析觀念的說法是不恰當的. 因爲卍海詩文中具有深刻的東方語言觀念, 卽重視沈默中的眞實. 沈默中孕含的眞實通過比喩和逆說有效傳達, 在卍海詩中的大量比喩和逆說的表現可以證明這一点. 詩集 『니的沈默』中的詩篇都可以定爲'愛情之歌'. 愛的對象是戀人, 民族, 或是衆生,歌詞的核心就是愛, 愛的對象以'니'來出現, 흔多人企圖定義'니'的實體, 但詩集的序中已經暗示'니'不能用一句話來定義, 他具有多種多樣流動的含義. 佛敎認爲萬物在不斷的消滅與産生中循環. 消滅與産生的反復形成萬 物的生命力. 因而沒有永恒的滅亡和永恒的生命是佛敎敎義. 卍海作爲佛敎僧人, 在他的詩中自然含有佛敎的意識形態. 就槪括詩人生命价値的絶對性的存在而言,卍海詩的'니'是宇宙的. 不僅是廣泛'的意思, 還有調和與統一的圓融性的含義, 是眞正的宇宙. 這里的'沈默和'雄辯'的語言充滿着交叉式宗敎之形而上學的眉語和民族的切實夢想. 卍海的詩可以說是宇宙的循環和融合的詩學.

Reflexive Binding and Adjunct Control as Subject Diagnostics in Korean: An Experimental Approach

What makes a subject has been one of the hottest topics in Korean syntax, and several diagnostics have been proposed. Among the diagnostics, the current study chose two tests and experimentally investigated how they worked in single subject constructions (Non-MSCs) and multiple subject constructions (MSCs). The diagnostics examined in this study were Reflexive Binding (RB) and Adjunct Control (AC). An experiment was designed to test how these two subjecthood diagnostics applied to the Non-MSC and MSC environments. The intuition of seventy Korean native speakers was tested with magnitude estimation. The test items were composed of 80 Korean sentences which represented different subjecthood properties in Non-MSCs and MSCs. The analysis results show that (i) both RB and AC can be used as subjecthood diagnostic tests in the Non-MSC environment, but (ii) that only RB can be used as a subjecthood diagnostic test in the MSC environment. Eulalia나 Rosa의 분노, Judith의 극기적인 냉담, Ellen의 무의미한 수다(chatter)그리고 Clytie의 겁먹은 공포는 하나같이 여성 등장인물들의 개성을 잘 나타내고 있다. 등장인물들은 그들이 필요로 하는 바를 거부당할 때마다 이 소설 속에서 유령으로 변신하거나 그림자로 비추인 것이다. 그 그림자를 통찰하거나 각기 인물들의 개성을 파악하려는 우리의 노력은 narrartor의 견해와 다를 수도 있으며 모든 비평가들의 결론과도 다를 수 있겠지만 ‘이 유령들은 그들 나름대로의 인과응보적인 결과’라고 판단함에 있어서는 견해의 일치를 가져오게 될 것이다.

What are the difficulties to understand the works of Faulkner's? Its sure that we have met the multiplicity of the vocabularies. The purpose of this article on Time Inversion in Benjy Section is to analize the times into 105 scenes and re-establish them to eight periods chronologically for helping with understanding the difficulties of the works, especially The Sound and the Fury. It is the short-cut for reading the works to understand the technique of tapestry, because he made two lines parallel and intersected. According to the study, we can approach the intention of Faulkner's: 1) To describe the miserable status of the future in the south whose hope and view of value were lost. 2) To bring the transfiguration for the southern life after The Civil War. 3) To have to abandon the conceptional time by breaking off the clock for living forever without stopping. Achieving the intention above, he used the idiot's memory of the past through the present events. Also he wanted to relieve his homeland, the south.

Clustering English Textbooks for Vocational Education Based on Lexical Similarity

As occupation fields become more fine-grained and specialized in the globalized world, the importance of English for vocational education becomes greater than the past. Currently, under the government authorization, several English textbooks for vocational high schools have been developed for 5 main vocational areas, i.e. agriculture, industry, commerce, marine and fishery, and domestic industry. However, little is known about with what criteria the textbooks were classified and grouped for each specified field under the five areas. The goal of this paper is to provide a principled and scientific method to classify the English textbooks for the five vocational areas. For this purpose, we collected English textbooks from 13 vocational fields and made a textbook corpus with the textbooks. For quantitative and statistical analysis, we adopted previous studies on linguistic similarity and a hierarchical clustering method. Our study proceeded as follows. First, we made a word list for each English textbook. Then, we calculated the percentage of lexical similarity along the word lists of 13 textbooks. Finally, we applied the hierarchical clustering method to producing a dendrogram of English textbooks for vocational education. Along the resulting dendrogram, we could identify which textbook was closer to which one, and had to be grouped with which one. The finding suggests implications for vocational English material development, vocabulary learning and teaching, and research on textbook analysis.

With the introduction of the Internet in the 21st century, the manufacturing-oriented industry, so called EMS(Electronic Manufacturing Service) specialized in manufacturing only, is rapidly expanding. From the beginning of the year 2000, the EMS industry in advanced countries around the world, whereas a strong Motivation System in which a manufacturing related staff plays a main role, has began providing the source of competitiveness. And this industry is regarded as a core of management linking productivity directly to management performance. Thus, all the manufacturing sectors including not only the electronic industry but also mechanical industry in the future are observed to be divided into two industries; a Maker strategy industry focused on marketing and development, and a EMS industry specialized in manufacturing. Therefore, we need to evaluate whether the industries should continue to support the Manufacturers Strategy or attempt to change into the EMS industry However, with no approved evaluation standard on hand as to an actual EMS industry, in this thesis, we develop the EM(EMS-Maker) Chart in order to analyze both the Manufacturer Strategy and the EMS industries.

Three cases who were successfully treated for cardiac injuries by open thoracotomy were reported. The range of the ages of the patients was 3rd decade. Two of the 3 were males with blunt injuries by motor vehicle accident and one was male with stab wound by knife. In the case of blunt injuries, the right atrium was involved in one case and the right and operative diagnosis of cardiac injuries and they-were blunt injuries. The case of stab wound was not diagnosed pre-operatively. All cases were treated with open thoracotomy-one posterolateral thoracotomy, one median sternotomy and one Clam shell incision. All of them had an uneventfull post-operative course.
