Gllosy Ground Coat에 의한 습식 鑄鐵琺瑯製造에서 가장 문제시 하고있는 점은 Coat와 素地金屬과의 密着性, Cover Coat의 硬度 및 Coat層의 發泡現象이다. 이들을 重視하여 Castings의 組成과 두께에 따른 영향, Ground Coat 組成에 따른 영향 및 燒成條件에 따른 영향등을 구명하였다.

The adherence of the wet-process cast iron enamels, the resistance of the thermal shocking, the blistering phenomena and the structure of base metal with a microscope have been studied in order to examine the effects of various coating conditions of glossy ground coat and the type of carbon contained in the base metal for manufacturing the ceramic coating on cast iron. This study showed that the ground coat played a main role more in forbidding the blistering than increasing the adherence between the base metal and the cover coat and that the adherence was affected strongly by the composition of the base metal, especially by the ratio of combined carbon and free carbon.

For the fabrication of the 2 AO ·BO₂ spinel pigment, each 1 mole of TiO₂, SnO₂and each 2 mole of ZnO, CoO, MgO, MnO, NiO and Fe₂O₃were fired at the temperature ranges from 700˚to 1.300℃ for 2 hours respectively. Analysing the X-ray diffraction, the following results were obtained. ⑴ In case of TiO₂, the spinel structures were formed with ZnO, CoO and in case of SnO₂, the spinel structures were formed with ZnO, CoO and MgO. ⑵ The other 2 valence metal oxides NiO, MnO, CuO and Fe₂O₃made geikielite structures with TiO₂, and SnO₂. ⑶ In order to form the spinel or geikielite structures, SnO₂series required higher firing temperature than TiO₂series. ⑷ Borax decreased the firing temperature in any series, having the spinel or geikielite structure.
