Press photographs attempt neutral, objective reporting about person, places, and events. But I think 'New Photojournalism' & 'Personal Documentary Photography' is the balance between personal vision and factual information. The relationship lay between art and Old Photojournalism. As one zealous observer described it, "The soealled outside Reality you are generally asked to accept as true is under suspicion today. There is a general conviction that we are being lied to, by politicians, by TV, by advertising, by magazine. All external reality as it's being presented in the multimedia of today seems less and less like reality as we individuals experience it. This acknowledgement of the photographer's presence carried over to the world of the documentarists. In their photographs, the stamp of personal vision overlays the reality recorded. I attempted to get close to the new concept by exploring personal vision of color. Personal and subjective colors are more like poetry than a scientific report. I am self-expressed and reveal a lot about the world views of myself who took Love Journal I focus on color and how it can be rendered photographically. I freed authors from journalistic convention -detachment, impersonality- and enabled them to speak the truth, as I saw it.
