고본(藁本)의 추출용매에 따른 항염, 항산화 및 항균 효과에 대한 비교 연구

Objective : This study was performed to compare anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation and anti-bacterial effects of Ligustici Rhizoma (LR) extracted with two kinds of solvents, ethanol and distilled water. Methods : It is prepared two kinds of LR extracts 20, 50, 100 ${\mu}l/mg$ by first. MTT assay way to measure cytotoxicity is formed in Raw 264.7 cell. The anti-inflammation effect is measured by ability to inhibit production of NO in Raw 264.7 cell. The anti-oxidation effect was measured by DPPH Radical scavenging ability in HaCaT cell. The anti-bacterial effect was measured by inhibition zone diameter on Propionibacterium acnes. Results : 1. LR (20 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with ethanol was showed 80% cytotoxicity, LR (50 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with ethanol and LR (20, 50 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with water were showed 70% cytotoxicity, LR (100 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with ethanol and LR (100 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with water were showed 60% cytotoxicity in Raw 264.7 cell. 2. LR (100 ${\mu}l/mg$) extracted with ethanol was showed more significantly inhibitory effect on NO production than the water extraction. 3. Two kinds of LR extraction groups did not show significantly scavenging effect of DPPH radicals. 4. Two kinds of LR extractions did not have a inhibitory effect on Propionibactrium acnes. Conclusion : Two kinds of LR extracts have not cytotoxicity, statistically significant ability to scavenge DPPH radicals and effect to inhibit Propionibactrium acnes. LR extracted with ethanol only have a little effect to inhibit NO production. This study proposes that LR extracted with ethanol is more effective in anti-inflammation.

Objective : The aim of this study is to determine the effects of Dendrobii herba extract and Punica granatum extract on skin disease and skin beauty. Methods : To investigate in vitro anti-oxidant activity assay, ethanol extracts of medicinal plants tested by DPPH radical, xanthine oxidase activity. In the next experiment, to investigate anti-inflammatory activity assay, examined by relations in NO synthesis, IL-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, TNF-${\alpha}$, NF-${\kappa}B$, COX-2, MAP kinase. To study Skin wrinkle formation effect, we were examined by tyrosinase activities, melanin synthesis in MNT-1 cell. Results : 1. In an anti-oxidant test, Dendrobii and Punica granatum extract showed high radical scavenging activity. 2. In an anti-inflammatory test, Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract weakly inhibited the lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced nitric oxide(NO) release from RAW 246.7 macrophage cells. Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract also inhibited LPS-induced IL-$1{\beta}$ and COX-2 expressions. The inhibitory effect of Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract on macrophage activation were via the inhibition of NF-${\kappa}B$, evidenced by transient transfection assay. however, Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract did not have any effects about activation of Jun-N-terminal kinase(JNK) and inhibition of p38 MAP kinase in RAW 264.7 cells. 3. In the skin wrinkle formation assay, Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract weakly inhibited collagenase and elastase, however it was not statistically significant. 4. In the skin whitening assay, Dendrobii herba and Punica granatum extract weakly inhibited tyrosinase activity, however, it was not statistically significant. They did not have any effect on melanin synthesis, indicating that they could not be applicable for skin whitening. Conclusion : Dendrobii herba extract and Punica granatum extract may play a significant role in skin disease and skin beauty.

소아 원형탈모증 치험 1례

Objectives The purpose of this study is to know the effect of Baekhogainsam-Tang on alopecia areata. Methods We decided the treatment principle through abdominal examinations and symptoms. We used herbal medicine (Baekhogainsam-Tang) to increase the roots of hair and hair. Results After the treatment, patients' hair condition had been improved (Hair loss patch diameter decreased from 2.5 cm to 0.5 cm). In addition, patient's physical symptoms were improved. Conclusions This case shows that herbal medicine, which focused on patient's physical symptom, is seemed to be effective in alopecia areata.

荊芥蓮翹湯合補中益氣湯의 中耳炎 治驗例

This case report show the effect of Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang in patients with otitis media, and found the symptoms were improved significantly. One case of otitis media has severe purulent otorrhea, hearing loss. And the orther case has otitis media with effusion, hearing loss too. these patients had taken western medicine, but they hadn't any expect to improve condition. We had a significant results by Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang. This result suggest that Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang can be one of good remedy for otitis media.

치과용 복합레진의 중합수축 및 무게변화

본 연구는 치과용 수복재료인 복합레진의 중합수축과 수분흡수 및 용해에 따른 무게변화를 평가한 것이다. 이를 위하여 각기 다르게 분류되는 11종의 복합레진을 택하였다. 이들 제품들의 광조사 중과 후의 중합수축을 130초 동안 측정하였다. ISO 4049 규정에 따라 시료를 제작하고 시료를 증류수에 7일간 보관하면서 수분흡수와 용해도를 각각 측정하였다. 그 결과 2 mm 두께의 시료에서 12.2-38.8 ㎛의 중합수축이 발생하였다. 특히 제품 중에서 flowable 레진 (Admira flow와 Grandio flow)들이 가장 큰 수축값을 보였다. 수분흡수는 9.8-36.4 ㎍/mm3를 보였는데 이들 값은 ISO 4049가규정하는 최고 수분흡수 값인 40 ㎍/mm3 보다는 낮았다. 용해도는 -1.4-7.7 ㎍/mm3을 기록하였다. Filtek P60의 경우다른 제품들과 달리 용해도가 증가 (-)하는 즉 수분흡수를 통하여 시료의 무게가 증가하는 특성을 보였다.

알레르기 비염환자의 이침(耳鍼) 치료 임상보고(臨床報告)

Objective : The efficacy of auricular acupuncture for the treatment of allergic rhinitis has been reported. Methods : Twelve rhinitis patients patients were enrolled in this study. Every patient received auricular acupuncture 2 times a week during 4 weeks. Auricular acupuncture points used were M101(肺), M13(副腎), M16(內鼻), M22(內分泌), M33(額), M55(神門). Patients nasal symptoms and QOL were assessed before and after 4 weeks treatment by total nasal symptom score(TNSS), total non nasal symptom score(TNNSS) and Rhinoconjuctivitis quality of life questionnaires(RQLQ). Results : 1. Among items of TNSS, nasal congestion-sneezing were significantly improved. and Total TNSS Scores were significantly improved.(p<0.05) 2. TNNSS were no significant difference. 3. Among items of RQLQ, nasal&eye problem&nasal symptom were significantly improved.

Objective : This study was performed to compare anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation and anti-bacterial effects of Cuscutae Semen(CS) extracted with two kinds of solvents, ethanol and distilled water. Methods : Two kinds of CS extractions were prepared 20, 50, 100 ${\mu}l/mg$. The cytotoxicity was measured by MTT assay in Raw 264.7 cell. The anti-inflammation effect was measured by inhibitory efficacy of NO Production in Raw 264.7 cell. The anti-oxidation effect was measured by DPPH Radical scavenging ability in HaCaT cell. The anti-bacterial effect was measured by inhibition zone diameter on Propionibacterium acnes. Results : 1. Two kinds(100 ${\mu}l/mg$) of CS extraction groups had 50% cytotoxicity in Raw 264.7 cell. 2. All of CS extraction groups were not showed significantly inhibitory effect on NO production. 3. All of CS extracted with ethanol only showed dose-dependently significantly scavenging effect of DPPH radicals. 4. Two kinds of CS extractions did not have a inhibitory effect on Propionibactrium acnes. Conclusion : Two kinds(100 ${\mu}l/mg$) of CS extraction groups have 50% cytotoxicity. Two kinds of CS extractions have not the inhibitory effect on NO production and Propionibactrium acnes. CS groups extracted with ethanol only have a significantly scavenging ability of DPPH radicals. This study suggests that CS extracted with ethanol was effective in anti-oxidation.

알레르기 비염환자에 대한 이침 치료 증례보고

Objective : The purpose of this study was investigated the effect of auricular Acupuncture treatment in Allergic rhinitis patients. Methods : This study was carried out on the 16 allergic rhinitis patients who had been treated at Cheongdogun public health center for The Good-Breath program. The Good-Breath program included auricular acupuncture was performed 2 times a week during 4 weeks. Auricular acupuncture points used were M101(肺), M13(副腎), M16(內鼻), M22(內分泌), M33(額), M55(神門). Patients nasal symptoms and QOL were assessed before and after 4 weeks treatment by the Severity Scoring Systems of Rhinitis(SSSR) and Quality of Life Questionnaire for Korean Rhinitisian(QLQKR). Results : 1. Total Severity Scoring Systems of Rhinitis(SSSR) Scores were significantly improved. but Each items was no significant difference. 2. Among items of QLQKR, Itching worry about western medicine worry about change of environment Role limitation-physical were significantly improved. and Total Quality of Life Questionnaire for Korean Rhinitisian(QLQKR) Scores were significantly improved.
