Challenges and Opportunities for Occupational Therapy in Big Data Research
홍익표,Meredith F. Shields,Mi Jung Lee,Riqiea Kitchens,Karen Ratcliff,Timothy A. Reistetter,홍익표 대한작업치료학회 2019 대한작업치료학회지 Vol.27 No.4
The advance of information technology with governmental support allows researchers to utilize big data to conductrigorous rehabilitation-related studies in both the United States and Korea. While big data research has beenactively conducted in the United States, few Korean rehabilitation scientists currently conduct big data research. Inthis paper, we discuss the existing rehabilitation-related big data in Korea and introduce the current big dataresearch trends in the United States. In addition, we provide potential research areas by discussing the previousbig data studies in the United States, including 1) functional outcomes, 2) geographical variation, 3) linkage of apopulation-based cohort to hospital data, 4) cross-national comparison, and 5) scale development. We also discussvarious statistical methods required in big data research and compare how these methods differ compared to thetraditional research methods in rehabilitation research. Lastly, we discuss the importance of workforce developmentin rehabilitation-related big data research. We hope this paper will provide occupational therapy scientists andclinicians with practical and useful information about big data research and accelerate big data rehabilitationresearch communities in Korea.

A Study on Cross-border Trade between North Korea and China: Current Status and ProspectsNorth Korea has remarkably increased economic dependence on China particularly the amount of the foreign trade in 2000s because Soviet Union was broken down and Western countries have imposed economic sanctions on North Korea. It means that North Korea has become much closer with China in the area of economic relationship. Cross-border trade with China is the most important part of the North Korean trade. The Chinese government granted the special border area for its cross-border trade needs. China exempts 50 percent of the import tariff and the value-added tax to promote economic development in the economically lagging borderline area. The cross-border trade’s volume between North Korea and China reached 441 million dollars in 2005, and this amount become 27.9 percent of total trade volume. Cross-border trade between North Korea and China mostly takes the form of the small-scale border trade. North Korea’s export dependency on border trade with China is sharply increasing. This reflects that North Korea does not have competitive export items and prefers the tax-favored cross-border trade. In North Korea, there are about ten national trade areas for cross-border trade. Among these areas, Dandong-Shinyiju is the most active border trade area.
남북한 사회통합의 새로운 지향: 합의제 민주주의를 중심으로
홍익표 평화문제연구소 2004 통일문제연구 Vol.16 No.2
This article explores the question of social integration between South and North Korea in the context of consensual democracy. The two Koreas have industrialized rapidly while at the same time extending social and political cleavages and conflicts. Added to this the long duration of division has consolidated differences in the systems of the two Koreas regarding social values and norms. To prepare and carry forward the desirable social integration a democratic regime is needed that emphasizes consensus instead of opposition, includes rather than excludes, and tries to maximize the size of the ruling majority. Consensual democracy based on the principles of inclusion enables minorities to access to power, and therefore facilitates the complicated process of social integration between the two Koreas.
FSS 단위셀 배열구조에 따른 구형 주파수 선택 구조의 RCS 특성비교

In this paper, we analyzed the electromagnetic characteristics of the spherical frequency selective surface with different arrangement of crossed dipole slot elements for reducing the RCS(radar cross section). The three dimensional MOM(method of moment) with RWG basis is used to analyze the proposed structure. To reduce the simulation time, we applied the BiCGSTab(Biconjugate Gradient Stabilized) algorithm as an iterative method and presented the comparison results with Mie's theoretical results for PEC sphere to show the validity of this paper. From the simulation results, the different arrangement of elements array showed the difference RCS that cannot be negligible. The arrangement method of element in frequency selective surface will be one of variables for the design of curved frequency selective structures.
