眼乾燥 患者에 對한 臨床的 考察

I examined 54 patients who had been diagnosed as dry eye or had experienced symptoms of dry eye such as foreign body sense, dry sense, sore sense, pain, etc. and had some results. The results were as follows; 1. In sex, there were more females than males. 2. The age was examined from 19 years to 70 years and 51-60 years was the most. 3. In duration of symptoms, 1-5 years was taken most of the patients. 4. In blood type, O type was dominant comparing other blood types. 5. In warm and cold preference cold was more than warm or tepid. 6. In associated ocular & systemic disease chronic gastritis was the most and the next was chronic conjunctivitis. 7. In main symptoms foreign body sense was the most of them 8. In prescription Gamisamultang(加味四物湯) was most frequently administered to the patients.

지혈겸자 적출술을 이용한 비용종 환자의 치험 1례

Object : To report the case of the improved patient after the extraction with hemostst forcept. Methods : We treated one patient who visited Gabsan Korean medical clinic.First two times, We used acupuncture, fumigation, exsanguination, external medincine. He had some agonistic response. But It was not satisfactory. So We operated extraction with hemostat forceps. Result and Conclusion : 1. We extracted nasal polyp, the length of polyp was 5.5 cm2. After extraction, the patient had not headache, nasal congestion and so on.3. On intranasal endoscopy, left nose did not have polyp any more.4. Hemostat forceps extraction is effective to nasal polyp.

백호탕가미방으로 치료한 수족다한증 치험 3례

Hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles, regardless of race or sex, often occurs in the childhood or adolescence. Generally this symptom, whose definite cause is not known, worsens in the emotional state of anxiety and nervousness. Although this symptom is likely to interfere with one's daily life including career activities and to give a sense of mental oppression, no treatment is yet to bring a successful result. Amid the hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles patients, we applied 'bakhotang-gamibang' and acupuncture treatment to the three patients who has heat in the stomach. We hereby inform results of the improvement in the symptom of those patients.

귀비탕가미방(歸脾湯加味方) 복용 후 호전된 양성 돌발성 체위성 현훈 환자 1례

Objective : We report a case of BPPV responded to the Guibitang, Spleen Tonifying Sa-Am Acupuncture and Canalith Reposition Therapy. Methods : 1. Diagnosis and Evaulation: Bithermal Caloric test, Video Nystagmography, Dix-Hallpike test, VAS 2. Treatment: Guibitang, Acupuncture, Canalith Reposition Therapy. Results : We can observe remarkable improvement evaulated by VAS. Conclusion : It is considered that Guibitang and Acupuncture can be applied to the treatment of BPPV.

고지방식이로 비만을 유발한 마우스의 알레르기 비염에 대한 방풍통성산(防風通聖散)의 효과

Objective : For various reasons, Obesity & Rhinitis are constantly rising. So Interest of treatment has been expanding. We want to verify The Chungyeol (fire extinguishing) Lisup (Draining) effect of Bangpungtongsungsan on obese model of allergy rhinitis.Material and Methods : BALB/c mouse were divided four groups: control(CON), allergic induction(ARE), Bangpungtongsungsan extract administration(BTT), Bangpungtongsungsan double concentration extract administration (BT2T). Every group except control group were caused allergic rhinitis by Ovalbumin. BTT & BT2T were orally administered the Bangpungtongsungsan for 21days. Since then we observed the liver tissue cell and the nasal mucous membrane.Results : In comparison with ARE, experimental groups show relief of the nasal mucous membrane damage(secretion of mucus decrease, Itching decrease), Th2 eruption control(IL-4 decline), effect of anti-inflamatory(reducing TNF-α creation, decreasing of iNOS through NF-κB activation-inhibition). In addition, experimental groups show a loss in weight, diminished accumulation of fat. (decreasing within liver tissue, reducing TNF-α creation) BT2T is more effective to BTT.Conclusion : Bangpungtongsungsan treat obese model on allergy rhinitis thereby control fat augmentation, relieving inflammation.

비스테로이드성 소염진통제 (NSAIDs) 에 의한 것으로 추정되는 담마진성 약진 치험 1례

Objective : This study describes a case of urticarial drug eruption assumed to be caused by non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) treated with oriental medicine and acupuncture. Methods : We studied the case of 20-years-old drug eruption patient. The patient complained of urticaria, angioedema, itching and burning sensation after taking NSAIDs. The indications for NSAIDs prescribed were common cold symptom and sore throat. For diagnosis, blood test and urinalysis were done. For treatment, acupuncture and herbal-medicine treatment were applied. Results : The patient of this report were examined for 13 days. The radiological finding was within normal limits. The WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte and eosinophil level normalized during admission. After 3 days, itching and wheal reaction of whole body disappeared except facial symptom. The angioedema, itching and wheal reaction in the face was almost improved in the 4th day after discharge. Conclusions : We may expect that the oriental medical therapy improves the urticarial drug eruption caused by NSAIDs.

이온화된 맥반석이 아토피 피부염 유발 Nc/Nga mice의 피부손상 및 염증 완화에 미치는 영향

Objectives : Atopic dermatitis accompanies with severe pruritus and collapse of skin barrier, inflammation. Maifanite could be used as an ointment for skin disease. However, there have been few studies about maifanite uses for atopic dermatitis. We report the anti-inflammatory and promoting skin recovery effects of ionized maifanite on damaged skin barrier with experimentally elicited atopic dermatitis. Methods : Nc/Nga mice were divided into 3 groups: control group(CON), atopic dermatitis elicited group(AE group), ionized maifanite treated group after atopic dermatitis elicitation(MT group). After 5% SDS was applied D. pteronyssinus crude extract also applied for 3 weeks to elicit atopic dermatitis-like skin disease. MT group was treated for 3 weeks with ionized maifanite. Ionized maifanite was applied once a day and voluntarily administrated. AE group and control group were treated with normal saline in the same way. Results : In MT group, skin lesions like eczema were more improved than AE group. p-ERK1/2 positive reaction was reduced in MT group. MMP-9 and substance P positive reaction at dermal papillae was also reduced in MT group. With skin angiogram, capillary vessel decreased in MT group. Also, IL-4 positive reaction cell and STAT-6 positive reaction cell reduced more in MT group than in AE group. $NF-{\kappa}B$ p65 positive reaction cell and iNOS positive reaction cell also declined more in MT group than in AE group. Conclusions : It is supposed that ionized maifanite has anti-inflammatory effects on NC/Nga mice's atopic dermatitis with suppressing IL-4 production and Th2 cell differentiation, and controlling $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation.

가미십전탕(加味十全湯) 가미방(加味方)이 화상(火傷)의 조직 손상에 미치는 영향

Objective : The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Gamisipjeontang-gamibang(GT) on an experimental bum elicitation. Method : The absorbance of the photo cell mixed with GT at the Abs 560 nm was measured after irradiation for 1 min. In order to know the antioxidant effect on skin cell of mice after burn elicitation, superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity was measured. Also, in order to know effects on the skin regeneration in the burned mice, we counted the eosinophil in blood from animals via cardiac puncture and observed the histological structure in the epidermal basal layer and the dermal section on the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after burn elicitation. We also studied changes in angiogenesis in the capillary surrounding the basal layer and dermal papilla. The changes of HSP70 distribution and changes of p53 positive reaction were observed to investigate the changes of the stress in the skin as well. Result : The results indicated that GT has a significant impact on the antioxidant effect on skin cells of mice after bum elicitation by increasing SOD activity in vitro test. GT seems to decrease MIP-2 which induces neutrophil infiltration and promotes the angiogenesis dose-dependently. Furthermore, GT decreased HSP70, the expression of which was induced by elevated temperatures, and p53 which induce a apoptosis after stress. Conclusion : GT can be applied to burned skin through its antioxidant effect and skin regeneration property.

알레르기 비염 유발 생쥐에 대한 형개연교탕(荊芥連翹湯)의 iNOS 생성 억제 효과

Background and Objectives : Allergic rhinitis is one of the most common diseases in the otorhinolaryngology area. in oriental clinic, Hyunggaeyungyo-tang(HYT) has been used as a primary prescription to treat allergic rhinitis. However, there have been no studies so far performed on the effect of this HYT use. The purpose of this study was find out therapeutic effects of its exclusive use on the rat with allergic rhinitis. Material and Methods : Thirty BALB/c mice were divided into three group : normal group(NOR), control group(CON) inoculated with allergic rhinitis and sample group(SAM) treated with the HYT extract after it was treated the same as the control group. Rats were sensitized intraperitoneally with ovalbumin solution 4times at intervals of 2 days. After that time, rats in SAM were administered by HYT to treat the inflammation. Results : 1. The number of eosinophil in SAM noticeably decreased than CON and this decrease had probability. The inhibition of eosinophil distribution. The infiltration of eosinophil in SAM noticeably decreased than CON. 2. The damaged mucosa as disruption of cilia in respiratory cell, vacant mucose secreting cell and infiltration of inflammation intricate cells in CON were increased than NOR, but SAM same as normal configuration. Decrease of icthing and sneezing intricate neurotransmitter (substance P). Decrease of angiogenesis intricate cytokine(MIP-2). 3. Transcription factor(NF-${\kappa}B$ p65) was decreased. 4. Transcription factor inhibitor(p-$I{\kappa}B$) was decreased. 5. Inflammation cytokine(iNOS) was decreased. Conclusion : The results suggest that HYT is significantly effective in the treatment of inflammation caused by allergic rhinitis through the suppression of NF-${\kappa}B$ activation and iNOS production.

Marked recovery 이상 호전된 돌발성 난청 환자 치험 3례

Objective : This study describes the cases of sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) patients with marked or complete recovery. Methods : Three patients received oriental medical treatments continuously for more than 1 month and measured the hearing recovery. For diagnosis on these cases, pure tone audiometry (GSI 38, Welch allyn company) was used. For treatment, acupuncture, herbal-medicine and moxibustion treatment were applied. Results : All patients of this report had the recovery of hearing. In 2 cases, the pure-tone 5 frequency (0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 KHz) average improved by more than 35 dB (Marked recovery). In 1 case, it was within the normal limits after oriental medical therapy (Complete recovery). In addition, tinnitus and vertigo decreased in all patients. Conclusions : We may expect that the oriental medical therapy improvers the hearing recovery in the patients of SSNHL.
