플립러닝(Flipped learning)과 직소(Jigsaw) 협동학습 융합을 통한 대학영어 독해수업의 운영효과

The purpose of this study is to explore effects of Flipped-Jigsaw collaborative model in college English reading class and investigate the learner perceptions and satisfaction of the model. To achieve this goal, surveys were conducted in the fall semester of 2019, targeting freshman students. A total of 355 college students participated in the pre-questionnaire on the first week of the semester and 315 participants responded after the implementation of the Flipped-Jigsaw collaborative model. In parallel with the online survey, interviews were carried out with 12 students for an in-depth analysis. The results show that students were quite satisfied with the flipped-Jigsaw collaborative model of English reading class in its implementation and effects. Interview results also verified the high satisfaction of the students. Applying Flipped-Jigsaw collaborative model to English reading class will improve the satisfaction of students in their learning and thus, enhance the effectiveness of the education. Extended follow-up studies on this educational model are required based on this research.
코로나19 이후 대학영어 수업에 대한 고찰: 대면ㆍ비대면 수준별 수업에서의 협동학습에 관한 학습자의 인식 비교

This study aims to compare learners' perceptions of online non-face-to-face versus face-to-face classes and examine how learners perceive cooperative learning used to improve communication skills. To this end, a survey was conducted on students who had taken level-differentiated college English classes in the first-semester non-face-to-face and the second-semester face-to-face in 2022. We found the following results. First, learners expressed a slightly lower level of satisfaction with face-to-face classes than with non-face-to-face classes. Second, high-level students in both non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes reported significantly higher satisfaction levels with the professors’ teaching ability and communication and interaction with students. Finally, in both non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes, it was found that students recognized cooperative learning through communication with the professors and interaction between learners as meaningful. In the post-COVID-19 era, a blended teaching method that combines the advantages of face-to-face and non-face-to-face education with cooperative learning will be a good way to improve learners’ communication skills and motivate them to learn. Impetigo herpetiformis is a form of pustular psoriasis that occurs during pregnancy and may be life-threatening. The pathogenesis and etiology of impetigo herpetiformis is not clear, but several reports have associated onset of this disorder with hypocalcemia, hypoparathyroidism, and the use of oral contraceptives. The typical lesions are erythematous patches that are studded with tiny superficial pustules particularly coalescing at their margins causing pain, and a burning sensation. Laboratory findings include an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, increased peripheral blood leukocyte counts, hypoalbuminemia, and in severe cases, hypocalcemia. The histopathology is the same as that of pustula psoriasis. Our patient, a 31 year-old female (Intra Uterine Pregnancy 28 weeks), was admitted to our hospital due to generalized skin eruption and severe constitutional symptoms. Her clinical features, laboratory and histopathologic findings were compatible with that of impetigo herpetiformis. In spite of our all efforts, intrauterine fetal death was noted at her 33rd week of pregnancy. We report a case of impetigo herpetiformis terminating in fetal death with the review of literature. {Kor J Dermatol 1997;35(1): 150-154}
비대면 수준별 대학영어수업의 학업 성취도 변화 및 학습자 만족도 연구

This study aims to investigate changes in students’ academic achievement through non-face-to-face level-differentiated college English education and their satisfaction with it. For these purposes, the researchers compared and analyzed two mock TOEIC tests given at the beginning of the 1st semester and the end of 2nd semester. We found that the academic achievement of the students at each level did not improve significantly. Surveys were conducted to check the satisfaction of the students with the non-face-to-face level-differentiated education. The results showed that the students in level 3 did not have much satisfaction with the non-face-to-face level-differentiated classes compared to the students in level 4 or 5. This shows that non-face-to-face classes do not give satisfaction to low-level students who have difficulty in self-directed learning. The expansion of non-face-to-face education is expected even in the post-COVID era. Therefore, professors' guidance and management will be required to improve students' self-directed learning ability. (Catholic Kwandong University)
대학영어 단계별 교육과정에 대한 학습자 인식 및 만족도 연구: C대학 사례를 중심으로

This study aims to examine the learner perceptions and satisfactions of the level-differentiated college English classes and suggests more effective education program based on the survey results. The level-differentiated English program was designed to correspond to students’ needs and abilities and carried out as a pilot study. The classes were offered for four terms(20hours/ term), and each term had a six-tiered course. An online questionnaire was administered to 205 students. The results show that almost all the students were quite satisfied with the adequacy of the placement test. However, there was not statistically meaningful differences in students’ satisfaction with the level test. Students in lower levels such as level 1 and 2 were highly satisfied with the class operation and course in general, and seemed to get more benefits from the level-differentiated classes than intermediate and high level students. This result implies the level-differentiated curriculum is more necessary and effective for lower level students.
제7차 교육과정에 의한 고등학교 영어 교과서 듣기 활동 분석

The purpose of this study is to anlayze listening activities in high school English textbooks and to ascertain whether the results are applicable to the 7th national curriculum aims. Based on the analysis criteria presented by Morley(1991), Richards(1983), and Ur(1984), two different analysis cirteria were applied for an in-depth analysis of the listening activities involved in the textbooks. The results of the analysis show that the philosophy of the 7th national curriculum is properly reflected in some parts of the textbooks. On the other hand, some listening activitis in textbooks are emphasized insufficiently and improperly. Through the results of the study, it is presented that the textbook should be designed and improved for the development of students' listening abilities and their communicative competence with the contents of more various and balanced listening activities.
