This study proposes a fishing village residential floor plan that considers indoor and outdoor boundaries to help young fishermen settle down. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with five young fishermen and residents of fishing villages, and the necessity and utilisation of transition spaces were identified. Based on the results of the study, three residential models were designed: one-person household, co-worker household, and family household, and compared with the existing standard rural housing. As a result of the analysis, the ratio of transition space to the dedicated area of the proposed flat was higher than that of the existing rural standard house, and the difference between the existing (22.47%) and the proposed (35.08%) was the largest in the one-person household type. The significance of this study is that it proposed a housing model that supports the settlement of young fishermen by clarifying the hierarchy of indoor and outdoor spaces and maintaining cleanliness after work, which is essential in the characteristic of fishing village life.
