Antispasmodic Effects of Junsibaekchul-San In Vivo and In vitro

In Vivo and In vitro antispasmodic effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San, a Traditional Korean Polyherbal Medicineconsisted of 7 types of herbs were observed in the present study. To clarify the effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San, on accelerating small intestinal movement induced by the stimulation of cholinergic neurotransmission, we evaluated the effects of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San on In vivo carbachol (an acetylcholinergic agent)-accelerated mice small intestinal transit and on In vitro contractions induced by low-frequency electrostimulation, KCl, histamine or acetylcholine using isolated guinea pig ileum. To induce the acceleration of mice small intestinal transit, Carbachol 1 mg/kg was once subcutaneously dosed 15min before last administration of the test drugs. In the present study, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San 500, 250 and 125 mg/kg or domperidone 20 mg/kg were orally pretreated on the carbachol-accelerated mice small intestinal transit once a day for 7 days and the small intestinal transit rateof activated charcoal powder were monitored. In vitro assays, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San1, 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001 mg/ml or domperidone 2×10-5M were treated 10min before ileal contraction was induced by filed stimulation, acetylcholine, KCl and histamine, and the % changes of contractions were observed compared to the treatment of inducer alone. In spontaneous contraction, the % changes of contractions were observed compared to treatment of vehicle alone at 10min after Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San or domperidone treatment. The efficacy of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San was compared to those of domperidone. High concentration, 1 mg/ml of Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San was found to decrease the spontaneous contraction of the isolated guinea-pig ileum. In addition, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San decrease contractions induced by electrostimulation, acetylcholine, histamine and KCl in the isolated guinea-pig ileum. In addition, Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San effectively inhibited the accelerated small intestinal movement induced by carbachol stimulation of cholinergic neurotransmission in In vivo. Based on the results, although the exact molecular or action mechanism and which herbs or compound in Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San are responsible for actions, it was concluded that Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San normalization in the accelerated intestinal motility might be interfere with a variety of muscarinic, adrenergic and histaminic receptor activities or with the mobilization of calcium ions required for smooth muscle contraction non-specificly. Therefore, it is expected that Jun-Si-Baek-Chul-San will be promising as a prescription of clinical treatment of digestive tract disorders such as accelerated the motility of intestine, diarrhea or intestinal painful contractions.
대구한의대 비만클리닉 내원 환자 62명에 대한 임상적 관찰

Objectives : The purposes of this study are to evaluate the effect of treatment in obesity clinic in Dae-Gu Hanny University and to improve the oriental medical methods of treatment in obesity patients. Methods : 62 patients were classified into four groups by Body Mass Index(BMI) : normal, overweight, 1st obesity and 2nd obesity groups. Weight, BMI, body fat rate and abdominal fat rate were compared in each group by t-test. Results : In distribution of sex, male were 10(16.1%), female were 52(83.9%). Mean age was $31.0{\pm}2.59$ and the patients in twenties and thirties were the most. Mean weight was $71.80{\pm}4.08kg$ and 1st obesity group(23) was the most. Mean BMI was $27.11{\pm}1.20(kg/m^2)$. BMI Changes in obesity groups treated by obesity clinic were $0.95{\pm}0.68kg/m^2$ in normal group, $1.45{\pm}0.38kg/m^2$ in overweight group, $2.67{\pm}0.48kg/m^2$ in 1st obesity group and $4.01{\pm}1.10kg/m^2$ in 2nd obesity group. The changes in all groups were significant. The more the obesity degree was. the more weight loss was. Conclusions : The weight and BMI in patients were almost decreased significantly when they treated. It resulted that the effect of oriental medical treatment in obesity was positive. This study is the effect of treatment in obesity by several medical methods and it is thought that the study of the effects of treatment in obesity by each medical methods that were used in this study is necessary.
소적정원산(消積正元算)으로 호전된 적증(積證)환자 1례 보고

This study was designed to evaluate the effects of the oriental medicine(Sojeockjeongwonsan) on a Jeock-Jeung patient. The clinical data was analyzed on a patient with Jeock-Jeung, deemed due to Gangiulgyul(肝氣鬱結) and Junggiheoyak(正氣虛弱). The patient’s main symptoms were abdominal pain and abdominal mass. The patient was admitted to Dae-Gu Hanny University Dae-Gu Oriental Medicine Hospital. Clinical symptoms, including abdominal pain, abdominal mass and general condition, improved after treatment. This study suggests that Sojeockjeongwonsan is significantly effective in treatment of a Jeock-Jeung.

Children are particularly vulnerable to adverse health effects associated with heavy metal exposure. The goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between proximity to an industry complex and blood lead and urinary cadmium levels for children aged 7-13 who lived in Ulsan where a big petrochemical complex is located. We conducted a questionnaire survey to collect data including sociodemographics,daily habits, residential environment, etc. We also analyzed blood lead and urinary cadmium levels using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). Data were analyzed using regression analysis. All statistical analyses were conducted with SAS software version 9.2. We calculated distance by using a Geographic Information System (ArcGIS version 10.0). The geometric mean blood lead level was 1.55 μg/dL (boys:1.59 μg/dL, girls: 1.51 μg/dL), and the geometric mean urinary cadmium level was 0.51 μg/g creatinine (boys: 0.45 μg/g creatinine, girls: 0.58 μg/g creatinine). In the results of regression analyses, we found that urinary cadmium levels significantly decreased as distance between residence and industrial complex increased after adjusting for age, gender,income, passive smoking and the length of residence. This result was opposite to that for lead levels. Our observations support the hypothesis that urinary cadmium levels in children are related to their proximity to an industrial complex.

This The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationships among relationship characteristics, relationship quality, satisfaction, and long- term orientation of the restaurant franchise system. Four hundred and fifteen questionnaires, with an 83% response rate from a convenient sample of 500 Korean restaurant franchisees, which were distributed for four weeks from Aug. 8th through Sept. 4th, 2011, were utilized to study the relationships between research constructs. AMOS(5.0 version) and SPSS(18.0 version) were employed to analyze the unidimensionality of research concepts and reliability test, and confirmatory factor analysis were performed. Structural equation modeling was employed to verify hypotheses. Two exogenous constructs dealing with relationship characteristics; communication and support and six endogenous constructs, including three relationship qualities; trust, performance, and conflict, and satisfaction and long-term orientation of the restaurant franchise system were analyzed with structural equation modeling procedures.

The study on prevention measures for vibration and excavation of tunnel for the #3, #4, Seoul Subway. In the Seoul subway tunnel blasting, the drilling pattern and prevention method to seismic vibration are as follows as well as for adaptions of NATM, the supportings of roof and wall holes are arranged with control blasting. 1. The blasting is executed basically using the low velocity explosive such as slurry, Nitrate ammonium explosive, and F-I and F-II explosive for control blasting substituting of existing dynamite. 2. The cut holes are arranged with burn cut pattern and also must be arranged with M/S electrical delay caps substituting of ordinary do]ay caps. 3. Jack leg drills are used in Five Job sites and a jumbo drill in one job site. 4. In performance of safety work and in maintenance of building safety. The drilling length for blasting will not exceed 1.20 meter for round so that the vibration value shall carry below 0.3cm/sec. The harmonizing of better powder, better drilling machine and better technique is only the way of improving tunnelling efficiency and less vibration will help the dereasing of accidence.
