Despite the lack of formal diplomatic relations between the United States and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK or North Korea), there have been a number of cases of unofficial exchanges between the people of two countries. US-DPRK people-to-people exchanges began to take place more actively from the 1980s between academic, religious and friendship institutions. In this milieu, the Korean diaspora in the United States played a central role as a diaspora group with links to both societies and laid the groundwork for exchanges in academic, religious and humanitarian spheres. This article traces the people-to-people exchanges between North Korea and Korean Americans that began to take place from 1980s to the early 1990s and evaluates the short and long-term impact of these engagements. This paper argues that these exchanges in the 1980s with the Korean diaspora in the US helped shape North Korea to reconstruct its diaspora policy and diversified efforts to engage with the US in the 1980s and 1990s.

두리틀(Dolittle)을 이용한 디스크 스케줄링 시뮬레이터 개발

개정된 7차 교육 과정에서 눈에 띄는 특징 중 하나가 바로 창의성, 정보 능력 배양의 강조이다. 그에 따른 교육방침 개선의 한 일환으로서 개방적이고 창의적 교육 활동의 강화로 나타난다. 이에 발맞추어 정보교과에서도 정보 사회에서 요구되는 논리적 사고와 문제해결력의 신장을 강조하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 과학교육에서 시뮬레이터를 활용하여 추상적인 알고리즘의 동작원리를 시각적으로 표현하고자 한다. 시뮬레이터는 7차 개정 정보교과 고등학교 교육과정의 ‘정보기기의 구성과 동작’영역의 ‘기억장치의 이해’단원에서 사용될 디스크 스케줄링 시뮬레이터를 개발하고자 한다.

Objectives:The purpose of this study was to describe the return-to-work experiences of breast cancer survivors. Methods: The subjects in this study were 10 women who were working at the time when they were diagnosed with breast cancer. Data were collected from September to November, 2009, by an in-depth interview. Results:The return-to-work experiences of the breast cancer survivors were categorized into four themes: 'desire for hiding a changing appearance,' 'getting back to normal daily routine life through social support,' 'mixed reactions from people toward their return-to-work,' 'pressure caused by work and treatment.' The breast cancer survivors wanted to hide their changed appearance and had a hard time physically as they had to work and receive treatment at the same time. Besides, they found it is burdensome to take time to receive treatment, and were under financial pressure. They became stressed out when other colleagues ridiculed their return-to-work or were overly interested in it. They felt at ease when others treated them in the same comfortable manner as before. Conclusions:In order to ensure the successful return-to-work of breast cancer survivors, they should receive education or counseling about how to take care of their changing appearance or cope with it.

미술표현활동의 지역화 수업 사례 연구 - 제주지역설화를 중심으로 -

Based on the current curriculum emphasizing the localization of curriculum, this study was introduced to the folk-tales of Jeju area which are worthy and introduced into the curriculum of the arts curriculum and reconstructed as a unit of expression activities. In addition, 12 classes were taught to 30 elementary school students in the province with the reconstructed contents. The contents of the lesson using Jeju folk -tales are ‘Expressing the story contents as picture books’, ‘Making traditional clothes and ornaments’, ‘Decorating Jeju traditional house environment’. The educational effects expected from this study are as follows. First, students have interest and interest in the folk-tales in Jeju and have a desire to love and preserve Jeju traditional culture. Second, through the art class using familiar ‘story’ materials to students of ‘Jeju folk-tale’, students experience various artistic expressive activities to create an atmosphere where students can freely express their thoughts and feelings. Third, students should be able to express basic materials, tools, expression methods, formative elements and principles by reconstructing them into expression activities appropriate to the third grade curriculum. Fourth, by reorganizing the class so that students can cooperate with each other by expressing them in a cooperative manner, it is possible to raise individual sense of responsibility, to interact positively with friends, and to feel the value of cooperation. 본 연구는 교육과정의 지역화를 강조하고 있는 현 교육과정을 바탕으로 그 가치가 훌륭한 제주지역 설화에 대하여 알아보고 이를 미술과 교육과정에 도입하여 표현활동단원으로 재구성하였다. 또한 재구성한 내용을 가지고 도내 초등학교 3학년 학생 30명을 대상으로 12차시 분량의 수업을 진행하였다. 수업의 내용으로는 제주지역설화를 활용하여 ‘이야기 내용을 상상하여 그림책으로 표현하기’, ‘전통 옷·장신구 만들기’, ‘제주 전통 가옥 환경 꾸미기’가 있다. 본 연구를 통해 기대하는 교육적 효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들이 제주지역설화에 대한 흥미와 관심을 갖고 더 나아가 제주전통문화를 사랑하고 보존하려는 마음을 갖는다. 둘째, ‘제주지역설화’라는 학생들에게 친근한 ‘이야기’ 소재를 활용한 미술수업을 통하여 다양하고 심도 있는 미술표현활동을 체험함으로써 학생들이 자신의 생각과 감정을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 분위기를 만든다. 셋째, 3학년 교육과정에 맞는 표현활동으로 재구성하여 학생들이 기본적인 재료와 용구, 표현방법, 조형요소와 원리를 탐색하여 표현할 수 있도록 한다. 넷째, 학생들이 모둠별로 협력하여 표현할 수 있도록 수업을 재구성함으로써 학생 개개인의 책임 의식을 기르고, 친구와의 긍정적인 상호작용을 하며 협동의 가치를 느낄 수 있게 한다.
