This study proposes a new mechanism for needle-free drug injection into the skin of agricultural animals that can be simple, lightweight and high response characteristic, for the delivery of proteins or vaccines. Jet injectors, which deliver drugs into the skin using compressed springs or compressed gas, provide a needle-free method of conventional transdermal drug delivery. However, the compressed spring or gas type injector has the drawbacks of high weightand impact noise. On the other hand, the high pressure injection device using a high pressure pump and an on-off valve has the advantage that it is smaller than the noise of spring or gas injectors. For this reason, we propose a mechanism that consists of a high pressure pump, an accumulator, an on-off valve and an injection nozzle. We tested a commercial injector- a compressed gas injector - and the impact gun type injector - a compressed spring injector - and used them to verify new specifications. The accuracy of injection was measured with an electronic weight balancer. Finally, the proposed mechanism was evaluated their suitability for needle-free drug injection based on results of the analysis and comparison of all the injectors.

This paper presents a sealing mechanism of the gerotor motor in order to develop a low speed and high torque gerotor motor. A gerotor motor is suitable for weight transfer system, such as winch system, weight conveyer system, wheel and angular drivers and mixers etc. To develop a low speed and high torque gerotor motor, the rotor profile was investigated using the space volumetric method. Also, the gap between the rotor and stator was evaluated in order to confirm the design method of rotor profile.

As water hydraulics is more and more highlighted in wide applications, many varieties of research on design, materials and manufacturing methods of water hydraulic components have been carried out. Especially, water hydraulic piston pump used to be the subject of study in relation to its relative sliding movement. In these relative sliding parts, the leakage and friction probably took place because of the characteristics of low viscosity and poor lubrication of water. In order to reduce the leakage and friction, the gap can be filled up nearly by using coated-plastic as an anti-wear material on sliding parts. In this paper, before applying the plastic-coated sliding components against the stainless steel to a hydraulic piston pump, the friction and wear test has accomplished with engineering plastic(PEEK) and stainless steel(STS420) specimen. The test machine is a pin-on-disk type, and is able to regulate the load and velocity properly. As a result of the test, tribological characteristics on materials of engineering plastic(PEEK) and stainless steel(STS420) had been verified in the effective and economic respect.

The radial piston pump has lots of advantage as followings; high operating pressure, compactness, high mechanical efficiency and so on. However this pump also has disadvantage that plunger type piston induce large friction due to sliding. In this study, the ball type piston pump was designed to decrease the friction loss on the plunger type piston pump. To confirm the decreasing of friction loss in the designed pump, The pressure and flow rate characteristics ware measured while the operation condition was changed. After that, the power efficiency of the pump was worked out at experimental data. From this result, the performance of small radial ball piston pump was confirmed.

In the stack cooling of household fuel cell system(1kW), cooling water pump has been demanded for compact size, low power consumption and constant delivery-performance of the cooling water. To obtain sufficient performance for practical application in above-mentioned area, in this paper, we studied on piston pump using multi-layer PZT actuator(5mm×5mm×18mm). The piston pump used a multi-layer PZT(16㎛ displacement at 100 Vpp) as a reciprocating motion actuator and structure producing resonance to amplify the displacement of a moving piston. The pump composed of two springs and the piston that could be supported a multi-layer PZT. We also decided the mass of moving parts, the stiffness coefficient of two springs with simulation. In this simulation, we predicted the resonant displacement and frequency of the pump. Then, based on the obtained results, without a mechanical amplification, we could make a large displacement.
