Vol.16 No.-

The studies of zinc sulfide phosphors have been made using the manganese and the flux NH_4Cl as activator by the photoluminescence. Three different samples of phosphors; ZnS, ZnS: Mn, Cl and ZnS : Cl were obtained by firing at 850℃ for one hour in nitrogen gas. The crystal structure of these phosphors shows the phase of cubic or hexagonal. In photoluminescence spectra, there are two different origins for the emission, which are due to deep centers (broad luminescence emission) and due to atomic transition (localized emission). Also shows that the splittings of energy levels for Mn^2+ in zinc sulfide crystal are order of 10^4cm^-1 at 15K and 300K.

      • K_2CuCl_4·2H_2O 단결정내의 수소핵자기 공명

Vol.1 No.1

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of ^1H in K_2CuCl_4·2H_2O has been measured with 3MHz at room temperature. The resonance data is analyzed in terms of the nuclear Zeeman interaction and nuclear dipole-dipole interaction. The distance between hydrogen nuclei is obtained from this analysis. The obtaind result is r=1.63±0.01A. This is in good agreement with the values previously reported.

Vol.14 No.-

Nuclear magnetic resonance data of ?? in K₂CuCl₄ㆍ 2H₂O single crystal are obtained with 3MHz at room temperature by employing a varian wideline spectrometer. This data are analyzed in terms of the nuclear Zeeman interaction and the first order electric quadrupole interaction. The obtained results are the electric quadrupole parameter e²qQ/h=0.105±0.002MHz and η=0, which are in good agreement with the previous result 0.1032MHz. In addition, the relaxation time of ?? is also measured. Analysis shows that the relaxation time T₁ due to the Cu²+ ion is dominant for ?? in this salt and T₁=1.1sec is obtained.

Vol.8 No.1

The high-speed low-voltage low-power analog-to-digital converter is designed using the pipelined architecture for high-speed conversion rate and the successive-approximation architecture for low-voltage low-power consumption. This architecture is the successive-approximation architecture using pipelined comparator array to change reference voltage during holding time. A 8-bit 10MS/s analog-to-digital converter is designed using 0.8㎛ CMOS n-well technology. As a result, INL/DNL errors are ±0.5/±1, respectively. The SNR is 41dB at a sampling rate of 10MHz with 100kHz sine input signal. The power consumption is 4.14mW at 10MS/s.

Vol.13 No.3

This study simulated the range of golf ball with different projection angles using a drive swing condition. For the simulation purpose, the differential equation of dynamics was induced by using Bernoulli's principle and average back spin frequency, instant velocity, and dimple of golf ball from amateur group, professional group, and Tiger Woods were chosen as the initial condition. The study result indicated that lift coefficient($C_{lift}$) relative to drag coefficient ($C_d$), 0.3 of differential equation was applied differently in terms of back spin Sequency, and when $C_{lift}$ was 0.4 for amateur, 0.5 for professional, and 0.7 for Tiger Woods the projection ranges of ball were closely matched with initial condition. With selected $C_{lift}$ and back spin frequency of initial condition, the ranges with different projection angle was measured as 193m ($13-17^{\circ}$) for amateur, 240m ($9-13^{\circ}$), professional and 273m ($9^{\circ}$)Tiger Woods, respectively. For the range in terms of back spin frequency and projection angle, the amateur group indicated relatively high spin frequency (70 RPS) and showed the maximal range (195m) with $13^{\circ}$ of projection angle. The tendency of longer range with higher projection angle was also found under the different conditions of spin frequency in this group. The professional group showed their maximal range (245m) with conditions of 60RPS of spin frequency and $9^{\circ}$ of projection angle. Their range was decreased dramatically when the spin frequency was reduced to 40-50 RPS. For Tiger Woods, the maximal range was found with 40RPS of spin frequency and the range was decreased notably when the spin frequency was above 40RPS.

Vol.16 No.-

The thermal expansion effect to the exchange interaction is calculated using a Morse potential between CuCl₂·2H₂O dimmers in K₂CU₄·2H₂O single crystal. The calculated variation in the exchange interaction between 77K and 300K is only 4% as compared with the results of 2Cu²+ EPR experiments. Infrared absorption spectrum has been obtained by employing a Nicholet FT-IR sepctrometer at 300K. The stretching and bending vibrations of the ligand atoms are oberved: the symmetric stretching vibration at 3200 cm-¹ and the scissoring at 1600 cm-¹from P-H bond ; and the symmetric strectching vibration at 580 cm-¹from Cu-Cl(Ⅱ). THe displacement between Cu²+ionns is slightly increased with increasing temperature dependent. A variety of vibrations can cause the weakness of the overlap of the wave functions through the ligand atoms between Cu²+ ions. Therefore there is a temperature-dependent spin transfer to the ligand from Cu²+ ions in this crystal.

Vol.15 No.-

Turbulent jet flow has been studied in many ways; plane jet, wall jet, rectangular jet, annular jet, round jet, parallel jet, valve jet, cross jet, slit jet, and etc. In this report, comparisons of two cross jet flows were tried with two same dimensional nozzles(dia. ø20). Two nozzles were set up to effectuate 45° and 90° jet flows. Each jet of two cross jets flows to the direction of 22.5° to the axis of downstream of the mixed turbulent flow in cross angle 45°, and to the direction of 45° in cross angle 90°. Also the centerlines of two jets meet at the distance of 217mm and 90mm in cross angles 45°, 90°, but the mixing flows of two jets could be imagined to exist beyond those distances. For the experimental investigations were effectuated at X=230mm, X=100mm in cross angle 45, 90°. The I-type, X-type tungsten hot-wires(dia. 5μm, long 3mm) (model 0252 T5) were used for the measurement of the mean velocities and turbulent components, and the pressures were measured by an electric micro manometer with the precision of 1μm of water column. The probe was moved to "Y" direction by an automatic probe traversing system(model SD-100C) with the precision of 1/100mm. The experimental results of this study could be summarized as follows; (1) The mean velocity In crossed angle 45°, 90°, the mean velocities and the widths of jet are shown in larger difference, but the behind mixing region, the characters of two jets shown all similarly a single nozzle jet. In order to consider similarity of crossed jet, the mean velocities of this experiments agree with the formula of Gortler and H. Schlichting in ?? ≒0.4. (2) Fluctution velocity Fluctution velocity in crossed angle 90° appear also higher than in angle 45°. The values appear largely in difference of the inside or the outside at the central region, and the fluctuations of width are different about 40% before and behind mixing region. But in crossed angle 90° these appear higher 30% than in angle 45°. (3) Intensity of tubulence The intensities of turbulence were almost not showed the difference in values of the inside and the outside before and behind mixing region. The changes of width become much larger 100% in crossed angle 45° than in angle 90°. But when the distance go away to X-direction. those show higher 15% in angle 90° than in crossed angle 45°. (4) Momentum Momentums decreased all gradually to X-direction. But the decrease is slow in crossed angle 45° and suddenly in angle 90°, after full mixing region those coincide well in angle 45°, 90°. (5) Reynolds shear stress Reynolds shear stresses ( ?? ) show distribution profiles of uniform aspect in crossed angle 45° comparatively. In crossed angle 90° those ( ?? ) show enough difference in negative (-) values to X-direction. Reynolds shear stresses (U'W') increase according to an increase of Reynolds Number in angle 45°, but decrease in angle 90°, and those show all positive (+) values. After all, the obvious differences of Reynolds shear stress could be known to a consequence of mixing flow by dint of impinging angle in crossed angle 45°, 90°.
