Nowadays, most passenger cars equipped with automatic transmissions use torque converter clutches to reduce fuel consumption, and recently the slip control scheme of torque converter clutches is widely studied for the expansion of the operating region of torque converter clutches and thus for the further improvement of the fuel economy of vehicles. In this study, the analysis of the torque converter clutch system including the line pressure control unit of the automatic transmission and the actuating hydraulic control unit of the torque converter clutch is performed, and a feedforward controller and a fuzzy logic controller for its slip control are proposed. Also, for the slip controller to use the grade resistance information during control, an observer-based grade resistance estimator is designed. The performance of the designed grade resistance estimator and the slip controller is verified by dynamic simulations, and the effect of the torque converter clutch slip control on the fuel economy is examined using a driving cycle simulation.

<지장본풀이>에 담긴 수수께끼와 연행방식 고찰 -지장과 새의 의미, 연행방식의 특징을 중심으로

지장본풀이는 신의 내력담을 노래하는 제주도의 무가 중 하나로 지장아기씨라는 여인의 비극적 삶의 이야기를 담고 있다. 이 본풀이는 주로 죽은 조상의 영혼을 천도하는 시왕맞이에서 불려진다. 제주도굿에서 불리는 여느 본풀이들이 심방 한 사람에 의해 리듬과 멜로디를 자유롭게 운용하며 말과 노래를 병행하는 독창으로 진행하는 것과 달리 규칙적인 틀을 가진 노래로 불리며 심방의 노래를 악사들이 그대로 반복하는 가창방식을 보여준다. 이같은 점에서 지장본풀이는 다른 지방의 만세받이, 바라지창과 비슷한 면모를 보이고 있어 상호 간에 적잖은 영향을 주고받았으리라 여겨진다. 지장본풀이에서 가장 중요한 관심사로 떠오르는 것은 지장이 죽은 뒤 새로 환생했다는 부분이다. 이 새는 제주도굿에서 부정한 것으로 간주되어 시왕맞이에서 내쫓김을 당하는데, 이글에서는 과연 이 부정한 새가 지장의 화신인가 하는 점과, 부정한 것이라고 해 무조건 내쫓김을 당하는가 하는 두 가지 의문이다. 최근까지 전개된 선행연구들은 대체로 새는 지장의 화신이며 부정한 것으로 여겨 내쫓는 대상으로 성격을 파악해왔다. 그러나 이글에서는 2008년에 채록된 두 편의 새로운 자료에 근거해 지장과 새의 관계를 새로운 시각에서 해석하고 있다. 새로운 자료에 의하면 지장은 사후(死後)에 새로 환생한 것이 아니라 돌부처로 환생해 서천꽃밭에 좌정한 것으로 나타난다. 이 돌부처에게 날아들어 해코지를 하는 새를 내쫓아내자는 것이 지장본풀이가 의례의 전후맥락에서 지니는 의미인 셈이다. 이글에서는 최근의 채록자료에 근거해 지장과 새의 관계를 새롭게 해석하는 작업과 더불어 지장본풀이가 지닌 연행방식의 특징을 비교적 후대의 산물로 바라본다 그를 위해 다른 지방의 유사한 사례와 비교해 내용과 형식이 어떤 경로를 거쳐 오늘날의 모습을 지니게 되었는지 살펴보고 있다. <Jijangbonpuri> which has a tragic living story of a woman, Jijang, is one of Shaman Songs singing an account of one`s lfe. <Jijangbonpuri> is frequency sung in Siwangmaji leading death ancestor to the Heavenly way. JejudoGut is different to any Bonpuri, which a shaman originally performs in singing and a talk applicating freely rhythm and melody, and shows a singing pattern in which bandsmen play regularly and repeatedly a Shaman`s song to itself. In view of this pattern, <Jijangbonpuri> is so similar to the other local Mansebaji, Barajichang that they seem to be effected in each other. The most importantly interested part of <Jijangbonpuri> is that Jijang has given another birth as a bird after she is dead. The bird is regarded as a uncleanly thing in JejudoGut so that it was expelled in Siwangmaji. In this article, there are two questions, "whether the uncleanly bird is truly Jijang" and "whether the uncleanly ting is absolutedly expelled". The resent pre-studies explain that the bird is Jijang`s avatar and understand it`s expelled as a uncleanly thing. However, this article based on two new extracted materials in 2008 analyzes the relation between Jijang and the bird in a new way. The new materials explain that Jijang, after death, isn`t an incarnation of a bird but a stone of (image of) Buddha sitting in Seo-chon flawer garden. The original meaning of <Jijangbonpuri>, looking at it before and behind, is to expel the bird doing harm toward the Buddha, Jijang`s avatar. This article based on the recent extracted materials doesn`t only analyzes the relation between Jijang and the bird in a new way but also researches in regarding the character of <Jijangbonpuri>`s Performing form as a relatively product of the future generation how to turn into the present <Jijangbonpuri> to itself through what channel, comparing the other local similar instances in letter and in spirit.

민속과 공연 사이: 탐라문화제 민속예술경연의 문제점과 개선방안

제주도의 대표적 축제인 탐라문화제는 1958년에 시작된 제주문화제에서 비롯되어 한라문화제라는 이름으로 오랫동안 유지되어온 역사를 자랑한다. 이렇게 변화하는 과정에서 축제의 중심으로 성장한 것이 민속예술경연이다. 이 글에서는 46회에 이르는 탐라문화제의 중심행사인 민속예술경연의 문제점을 파악하기 위해 탐라문화제의 역사적 배경과 민속예술경연의 실상에 대해 살펴보았다. 이 과정에서 탐라문화제의 탄생배경에 국가차원의 문화지배방식이 존재한다는 사실과 그것의 구체적 방법이 민속예술경연임을 확인했다. 정부 수립 이후 오랫동안 유지되었던 독재정권은 그들의 통치이념에 맞게 국민을 통치하기 위해 문화차원의 지배방식을 선택했다. 이 속에서 개인과 가족, 마을 등의 소규모 공동체에서 전승되던 다양한 민속은 국가의 통치이념에 맞게 각종 민속예술경연대회를 통해 공식화된 민속으로 변질되었다. 그렇다고 해서 이같은 민속예술경연이 부정적인 역할만 했다고 볼 수는 없다. 피지배집단은 미약하지만 국가의 지배가 일방적으로 관철되는 가운데 지배적인 힘에 저항하고 그들의 정체성을 유지하거나 새롭게 만들어 가려는 시도를 이어왔다. 그것은 탐라문화제와 직접적으로 관련된 제주도민의 움직임에서도 나타난다. 시기에 따라 민생현안을 출품작에 담아내는 노력들이 그것이다. 이렇게 탐라문화제의 민속예술경연은 부정과 긍정의 성격을 동시에 지니고 있다. 그렇지만 긍정적 효과가 미약한 탓에 폐지론이 심심찮게 대두되고 있다. 이 글에서는 탐라문화제 민속예술경연의 변화양상을 두루 살펴 전면적인 개선방안과 부분적인 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 전면적인 개선방안은 현행되는 민속예술경연을 마을축제로 전환시키는 방법이고, 부분적인 개선방안은 민속예술경연이 지니는 공연장 재현을 지양해 전승현장의 실태 파악과 전승활동을 중심에 두는 쪽으로 개선하자는 방법이다. Tamna Cultural Festival, the typical festival of Jeju-do, takes pride of Hanra Culural Festival which has long maintained the history from Jeju Cultural Festival since 1958. On the course, Folk Arts Contest is standing in the main of Festival. This article searches the historical backgroud of Tamna Cultural Festival and the actual circumstances of Folk Arts Contest to grasp the problem of Folk Arts Contest which is the main event of the 46th Tamna Cultural Festival. The dictatorial government which had been maintaned for a long time had a choice of controling culture to take care of people on their rules. In this situation, the various lore transmitted by the minority community- an indivual and a family, a folk etc.-deteriorated the official lore from a variety of Folk Arts Contest adapting their rules. This Folk Arts Contest doesn`t take a negative role any the less. The subjects group was insignificantly against the rule power while the nation control penetrated into them over the transom, or has maintained their identity and tried to create. It can be found in the Jeju islanders` movements directly related in Tamna Cultural Festival. The Folk Arts Contest of Tamna Cultural Festival has both positive and negative ways. However, the abolition opinions represented by the insignificant positive effects often rises up. This article indicates the whole and the part reform measure through all over searching positive effects and negative effects. The whole reform measure is the way of converting the present Folk Arts Contest into Folk Festival, the part reform measure is realizing the transmission spot and centering in the transminssion movements by supporting the reproduce performance with Folk Arts Contest.

제주도 입춘굿에 나타난 전통축제의 원리

이 글은 20세기 초까지 전승되었던 전통사회의 제주도 입춘굿의 연행에 나타나는 원리를 주술적 원리, 구성과 진행의 원리, 정서적 원리의 세 부분으로 나누어 살펴본 것이다. 이 세 가지 원리는 미리 연역적인 틀을 세우고 진행한 것이 아니라 문헌을 비롯한 각종 자료의 기록에 근거해 연행의 각 부분을 고찰하는 과정에서 발견한 것이다. 이같은 원리를 1965년부터 시도되기 시작한 제주도 입춘굿의 복원사례와 대입했을 때, 먼저 전통사회의 입춘굿에는 유사의 법칙에 근거한 모방과 접촉의 법칙에 근거한 변환을 중심으로 하는 강력한 주술적 원리가 작동하고 있음이 확인됐다. 이에 비해 오늘날의 입춘굿은 주술적 제의에서 예술이 분화해간 것처럼 미리 만들어진 공연텍스트, 즉 대본을 토대로 있는 그대로 재현하며 공연양식의 완성도에 집중하는 예술적 연행에 치우쳐 있음이 확인됐다. 둘째, 전통사회의 입춘굿은 맞이에 해당되는 거리굿이 제주읍성 일대를 장시간에 걸쳐 순례하는 것으로 시작해서 ‘跳躍亂舞’의 과정으로 마무리되는 연속적인 연행이었다. 이러한 양식의 진행은 ‘내고 달고 맺고 푸는’ 원리에 입각한 것이다. 한편 복원시기 입춘굿놀이 중 탐라국 입춘굿놀이를 제외한 세 가지 사례들은 민속예술경연대회 출품용으로 복원된 연행인 관계로 제한된 시공간 속에서 압축적으로 연행됨으로써 이러한 원리가 적용되지 않았다. 셋째, 전통사회의 입춘굿에는 흥을 매개로 한에서 신명으로 이어지는 신명풀이의 정서적 원리가 나타난다. 특히 기간의 학문적 연구와 현장의 복원과정에서 축제의 뒤풀이 정도로 여겨졌던 ‘跳躍亂舞’가 중요한 역할을 하는 것임이 확인됐다. 복원사례의 경우에 이같은 원리가 적용되는 경우는 탐라국 입춘굿놀이라고 할 수 있는데, 맞이에서 놀이에 이르는 연행의 흐름은 제대로 구현하고 있으나, 축제의 절정부라고 할 수 있는 ‘跳躍亂舞’가 마련되지 않고 있음이 확인됐다. 위와 같이 이 글에서는 전승시기 입춘굿을 중심으로 제주도 입춘굿의 연행양상과 연행원리를 분석했다. 본 연구가 지니는 한계는 학문적인 입장에서는 학제적 연구를 통해 한계를 극복해야 할 것이다. 또한 현장으로의 환원과 관련해 제주도 무속이 살아있는 전승현장을 비롯해 탐라국 입춘굿놀이에 깊이 관여하는 예술인과 협력하며 현장의 연행텍스트로 바꿔 거듭되는 복원행위를 통해 한계와 가능성을 검증 받아야 할 것이다.

This paper presents a novel approach to estimate the road bank angle using a disturbance observer. The disturbance observer estimates the lumped disturbances, which include the effects of the system parametric uncertainty and the road bank angle. Based on the estimated disturbances, the amonut of disturbance caused by the system parametric variations is identified using an adaptive gradient law with a projection algorithm. With the system variations identified, the value of road bank angle is extracted ITom the estimated disturbance provided by the disturbance observer. The performance and accuracy of the proposed road bank angle estimation algorithm is verified by numerical and experimental results.

Adaptive Compensation Control of Vehicle Automatic Transmissions for Smooth Shift Transients Based on Intelligent Supervisor

In this paper, an advanced shift controller that supervises the shift transients with adaptive compensation is presented. Modern shift control systems for vehicle automatic transmission are designe d to provide smooth transients for passengers' comfort and better component durability. In the conventional methods, lots of testing and calibration works have been done to tune gains of the controller, but it does not assure optimum shift quality at all times owing to system variations often caused by uncertainties in shifting hydraulic systems and external disturbances. In the proposed control scheme, an adaptive compensation controller with intelligent supervisor is implemented to achieve improved shift quality over the system variations. The control input pattern which generates clutch pressure commands in hydraulic actuating systems, is updated through a learning process to adjust for each subsequent shift based on continuous monitoring of shifting performance and environmental changes. The proposed algorithm is implemented and evaluated on the experimental test setup. Results from the experimental studies for several operation modes show both improved performance and adaptability of the proposed shift controller to uncertain changes of the shifting environment in vehicle power transmission systems.

Modeling and H<SUB>∞</SUB> Optimal Control Design for a Hydraulic Unit in ES

This paper deals with feedback control of a hydraulic unit for direct yaw moment control, a method used to actively maintain the dynamic stability of an automobile. The uncertain parameters and complex structure naturally call for empirical modeling of the hydraulic unit, which readily results in a control-oriented model with high fidelity. The identified model is cross-validated against experimental data under various conditions, which helps to establish model uncertainty. Then, the H<SUB>∞</SUB> optimization technique is employed to synthesize a controller with guaranteed robust stability and performance against the model uncertainty. The performance of the synthesized controller is verified using experimental results, which shows the viability of the proposed approach in a real-world application.

승용차용 자동변속기의 유압시스템 식별

Nowadays, in spite of some defects in high cost and low power transmission efficiency, most automobiles are equipped with automatic transmissions for shifting gears for the reason of convenience. Recently, one of the important thing in designing shift controller is about shift quality in the meaning of reducing shock at shift. Namely, that is the problem how to minimize inevitable shift shock through suitable pressure control in friction element as clutch and brake. Another one is about the slip control of torque converter clutch. That is also achieved through suitable pressure control of damper clutch system. The automatic transmission hydraulic system that consists of many valves with high order and shows a lot different dynamics to temperature variation. so it is difficult to predict exact generated pressure in real time. In this paper, through the identification of automatic transmission hydraulic system, the real-time operable and exactly predictable hydraulic model of ARX, neural network, neuro-fuzzy type is proposed and validated. We confirm that neuro-fuzzy model has better performance than the others in the aspect of low prediction error, few input number and simple structure.<br/> <br/> <br/>
