        아스퍼거 증후군 환아 증례보고

        Objective : This study was to investigate the effect of oriental medical treatment for Asperger's syndrome. Methods : This patient was lack of social communication, interaction, imagination and motor coordination. It was due to Asperger's syndrome. The patient was treated with Herbal medicine, acupuncture and play therapy. And we evaluated the case with The Australian scale for Asperger's syndrome. Results : Oriental medical treatment and play thrapy alleviated his symptoms of Asperger's syndrome and anxiety. Conclusions : We report the good result of oriental medical treatment on this case. The more study of oriental medical treatment for Asperger's syndrome is needed.

        자경청폐탕(紫梗淸肺湯) 및 통궁탕가미방(通窮湯加味方)이 기도점액분비 및 기관평활근 긴장도에 미치는 영향

        Objective : To investigate the effectiveness of two oriental medical prescriptions named Sigoungcheongpyetang(SCPT) and Tonggyutanggamibang(TGT) for mucin release from cultured hamster tracheal surface epithelial(HTSE) cells. Method : Confluent HTSE cells were metabolically radiolabeled with $^{3}H-glucosamine$ for 24hrs and chased for 30 min in the presence of SCPT or TGT to assess the effect of each agent $^{3}H-mucin$ release. Possible cytotoxicities of each agent were assessed by measuring lactate dehy drogenase(LDH) release. Also, the effects of SCPT and TGT on contrectility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle were investigated. Results : (1) SCPT and TGT significantly increased mucin release from cultured HTSE cells, with significantly cytotoxicity ; SCPT did not affect contractility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle and TGT inhibited Ach-induced contraction of isolated tracheal smooth muscle. Conclusion : We suggest that the effects of SCPT and TGT with their components should be further investigated and it is of great value to find, from oriental medical prescriptions, novel agents which might regulate mucin secretion from airway goblet cells.

        선방패독탕(仙方敗毒湯)이 호흡기 뮤신 분비 및 기관 평활근 긴장도에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : The author intended to investigate Seonbangpaedoktang (SBPT) significantly affect in vivo and in vitro mucin secretion from airway epithelial cells. Methods : In vivo experiment, the author induced hypersecretion of airway mucin, hyperplasia of tracheal goblet cells and the increase in intraepithelial mucosubstances. Effects of orally-administered SBPT during 1 week on in vivo mucin secretion and hyperplasia of tracheal goblet cells were assessed. For in vitro experiment, confluent hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells were metabolically radiolabeled and chased in the presence of SBPT to assess the effect of the agent on 3H-mucin secretion. Total elution profiles of control spent media and treatment sample through Sepharose CL-4B column were analysed. Possible cytotoxicity of the agent was assessed by measuring LDH release. Also, the effect of SBPT on contractility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle was investigated. Results : SBPT inhibited hypersecretion of in vivo mucin and inhibited the increase of number of goblet cells ; SBPT did not affect in vitro mucin secretion and the secretion of the other releasable glycoproteins with less molecular weight than mucin from cultured HTSE cells, without significant effect on LDH release; SBPT did not affect Ach-induced contraction of isolated tracheal smooth muscle. Conclusions : SBPT can inihibit hypersecretion of in vivo mucin and the author suggest that the effect SBPT with their components should investigate further.

        현삼(玄蔘)이 NC/Nga mice에서 유발된 피부염에 미치는 영향

        Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine of the effect of SPAR medicines on the atopy eruption control Methods This experiment is about the expression of IgE, IL-4, IL-6, IL_13, IgM, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG1 level in serum, and $IFN-{\gamma}$ production by SPAR medicines. We assayed for $CD3e^+/CD69^+$, $CD044^+/CD19^+$ positive cells by flow cytometry in splenocytes and observed the revelation of $CD3e^+/CD69^+$, $CD4^+/CD8^+$, $CD44^+/CD19^+$ marker in PBMC, spleen and DLN. We also observed the outturn of IL-4, IL-5, CCR3, $IFN-{\gamma}$ in skin of a NC/Nga mice. We also analyzed NC/Nga mice's ear and neck-back skin after biopsy and dye by H&E staining method, measured about epidermis and dermis part in comparison with control group. Results SPAR medicines as treatment result to a NC/Nga mice, clinical skin severity score decreased remarkably than the ontrol group. Specially, experiment was results by measuring IgE and IL-6 content in serum 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks respectively, and it was decreased remarkably than the control group. After experiment ended, the result that observed the revelation CD3e, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD69, CD11a marker in lymph node establishment were observed and that B/T rate becomes recover as normal with political background. In addition to that, the control group was decreased in the measured value of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, IgM, IgG2a, IgG1's level in serum, and $IFN-{\gamma}$' production secreted in Th1 cell displayed increase by SPAR medicines. IL-4, IL-5, CCR3, and $IFN-{\gamma}$'s gene revelation amount displayed marked decrease than the control group in result that observe effect that get in skin of a NC/Nga dermatitis mouse. Moreover in culture supernatant which cultivate for 14 days after separate skin cell, IL-13 and IL-6 production, and $CD69^+/CD3e^+$, $CD44^+/CD19^+$ expression cell number was decreased than the control group's number. Course inflammation immunocyte permeated of result that effect that SPAR medicines get to NC/Nga mice's skin establishment analyzes ear and neck-back skin after biopsy, and dye by H&E method decreased about epidermis and inflammation of dermis part remarkably than the control group. Conclusions Th1 cell and Th2 cell observe to be shifted by secretion amount of IL-4 and $IFN-{\gamma}$ by SPAR medicines could know that SPAR medicines can be use for treatung allergy autoimmune disease.

        항경련제 복용을 중단한 특발성 간질 환아 치험 1례

        Objective : Epilepsy is a brain condition which causes a person to suddenly lose consciousness and sometimes to have fits. The etiologic factors of epilepsy are various, but most of cases are idiopathic. The purpose of this study is to report a pediatric patient with idiopathic epilepsy. Method : We treated him with herb medicine, acupucture and anticonvulsant. Then, we stopped administering anticonvulsant, and observed the progress of his condition. Result : We had good effect with oriental medical treatment on an epileptic who quitted taking anticonvulsant. Conclusion : We report the good results of oriental medicine on a pediatric patient with idiopathic epilepsy. And the further study is needed with more cases, longer duration and other tools.

        요붕증(尿崩症)에 관한 문헌적(文獻的) 고찰(考察)

        Objective : This study was designed to investigate causes, symptoms and treatments for the diabetes insipidus with oriental medical literatures. Methods : We surveyed the oriental and western medical books from <neiching> to recent published bocks that have articles on diabetes insipidus Results and Conclusions : The symptoms of diabetes insipidus are polyuria and polydipsia, these are similar symptoms of Pae-so(肺消), Gouk-so, So-gal(消渴), Sang-so(上消), Sin-so(腎消), So-sin(消腎), Ha-so(下消) and Sin-jung(腎中) of kinds of So-gal(消渴) in the oriental medicine. The major causes of diabetes insipidus are the deficiency of the yin of the kidney, the heat of the heart and the dryness of the pulmonary. The methods of treatment are tonifying the yin of the kidney(滋補腎陰), tonifying qi and arrest discharges(益氣固澁), removing heat to moisten dryness (淸熱潤燥) and promoting fluid production to quench thirst(生津止葛). The herbal-medications for treatment are So-galbang and Yidongtang(消渴方合二冬湯), Ryoumijihawangtang gamibang(六味地黃湯加味方).

        외상성 뇌손상 환아의 한방적 처치에 대한 증례보고

        Objectives : This study is to investigate the effects of oriental medical treatment of traumatic brain injury. Methods : We treated the patient with Herb medicine, acupuncture, moxa, fumigation, rubdown and negative and occupational therapy. And we evaluated the case with Modified Bathel Index, Activity Index, Jebsen Test. Results : There is improvement in his symptom (manual muscle power, finger apraxia, memory loss, dysarthria, urinary frequency), after oriental medical treatment. Conclusions : We report the good result of oriental medical treatment on this case. The more clinical study of oriental medical treatment for traumatic brain injury is needed.

        취연탕(取淵湯) 및 치효산가미방(治哮散加味方)이 기도점액 분비 및 기관평활근 긴장도에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : In the present study, the authors intended to investigate whether two oriental medical prescriptions named chwiyeon-tang and chihyosan-gamibang significantly affect much release from cultured hamster tracheal surface epithelial HTSE cells. Methods : Confluent HTSE cells were metabolically radiolabeled with 3H-glucosamine for 24 hrs and chased for 30 min in the presence of chwiyeon-tang or chihyosan-gamibang to assess the effect of each agent on 3H-mucin release. Possible cytotoxicities of each agent were assessed by measuring lactate dehydrogenase LDH release. Also, the effect of chwiyeon-tang and chihyosan-gamibang on contractility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle were investigated. Results : (1) Chwiyeon-tang significantly inhibited mucin release from cultured HTSE cells, with significant cytotoxicity ; (2) Chihyosan-gamibang significantly stimulated mucin release from cultured HTSE cells, with minute cytotoxicity ; (3) Chwiyeon-tang and Chihyosan-gamibang did not affect contractility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle. Conclusions : We suggest that the effects of Chwiyeon-tang and Chihyosan-gamibang with their components should be further investigated and it is of great value to find, from oriental medical prescriptions, noel agents which might regulate mucin secretion from airway goblet cells.
