Multi-stacked HTS tapes are needed to conduct large current in the power application of superconducting machine. This paper deals with the transport current loss of multi-stacked YBCO coated conductor. YBCO coated conductor that was used in this experiment has two Cu layers above and below of YBCO layer for stabilization. Transport losses of four different stacks, single, 2 stack, 3 stack and 4 stack, were measured. Measured results were compared analytic equation suggested by Norris.

AC transport current losses is an important factor in the development of superconducting tapes and superconducting power applications. In this paper we compared measurement, calculation and Norris equation of AC transport current loss in BSCCO single and multi stacked wire. And present a distribution flux density and current density in the HTS single wire and multi stacked wire. The result of Measurement and calculation of Ac transport current loss show that the same. And show that HTS characteristic of inside HTS wire.

YBCO wire has a metal substrate to improve the texture structure and highly conductive layers to increase the cryogenic stability. When AC current flows in the YBCO wire, magnetic field which is generated by the AC current magnetizes the metal substrate and induces the eddy current in the stabilizing layer. To examine the effect of the metal substrate and the conducting layer on the transport current loss of YBCO wire, this paper presents the transport current loss of YBCO wire which has metal substrate and conductive layer. YBCO wire with Nj-W substrate and copper layer were chosen as the model HTS wire for numerical calculation. Finite element method has been used to calculate the transport loss and the results of numerical calculation was compared with analytic calculation suggested by Norris.
