We report a 54-year old female who had mild dyspnea, coughing, abdominal distension, tightening and thickening of the skin, and Raynaud's phenomenon. Clinical manifestations, laboratory and radiologic examinations were compatible with systemic sclerosis. She was also diagnosed to have ovarian cancer on histopathologic study. The possible causative relation between systemic sclerosis and malignant neoplasms is a controversial issue, but several studies have demonstrated an increased frequency of cancer in patients with systemic sclerosis, especially lung and breast cancers. Ovarian cancer was rarely reported in association with systemic sclerosis. We present this case with a review of literatures.

Though in some respects the changes in the iron industry's system of production which were involved in the industrial revolution were less radical than the changes in the cotton industry, there is not the slightest excuse to the great importance of the iron industry. In short, the iron industry played a role in Britain industrialisation that was both pervasive and stimulating. It provided cheaply and abundantly the commodity on which, more than on any other single material except coal, modern industry was to depend for its essential equipment. Nineteenth-century industrialisation may indeed have been started by the textile innovations of the end of the eighteenth century. But continuous industrialisation depended on the availability of coal and iron, and would have been inconceivable without the steam-engine and the technical progress in the iron industry which also took effect in the last three decades or so of the eighteenth century. This study aims that estimates the British iron and steel trade trend and examines what it means.

We have characterized XeCl excimer-laser-induced crystallization of thin amorphous silicon films deposited by PECVD (${\alpha}$-Si:H) and LPCVD (${\alpha}$-Si). The electrical properties, surface roughness and crystallinity of crystallized thin films have been measured. The dc conductivities, crystallinity andsurface roughness of the films increased as the laser energy density and shot density were increased. The properties of laser annealed films deposited by LPCVD were better than those of thin films deposite by PECVD. We have also found that the multiple shots with relative low energy density were more benifical to the improsvement of surface roughness than the single shot with high energy density preserving the crystallinity.
